I refer to daddyola`s point a few pages back.
This guy Mike has taken the the time to come in to this forum and try and put folks mind at rest. It was looking positive and the general feedback was looking good. Mike was in here on a daily basis helping folk and replying, trying to put things right. Model gadget have already admitted to a fault on their side, and Mike is activly trying to resolve this. The last thing this guy needs is a rant like that.!.
Please cut this guy Mike some slack. I personaly have never heard of any other company joining a forum and interacting with customers. The fact that he took the time to join, and reply means he IS CONCERNED about people. Funny how he hasn`t been back on since daddyolas rant. I hope he isn`t feeling thaat his efforts are being appreciated. Mods, is there any chance of removing daddyolas post and mine, just incase Mike hasn`t read it. To be honest. If I was Mike I wouldn`t be happy, after everything he`s already done.

I've not read the so called rant. But dont you think they have the right to be pissed. Do you think it's right to be hunting these guys on formus to find answers to our questions. Well so they have now updated their website telling people how to contact them. But not after 2 weeks of keeping me in the dark. Thinking I've been ripped OFF. I put my trust in these guys giving them my money, they might gain some from me if I see my item.

Stop the sucking up man, you have a RIGHT to your item. You've paid for it. Please no more of the ass kissing SH!"£.

tbh i think both of you are right, apart from the ranting,

in terms of customer service model-gadget has obviously had a big problem for one reason or another, mike has tried to fix this by sorting out the issues here. which of course is brilliant.

but, on the other hand, as a website owner with what i believe is hundreds of customers, spending thousands of pounds, i would personally take on a damage control solution.

every site that deals with both the public and their money should have a strategy for such an occasion.

I.E, for instance mike himself could have set up his own forums on his own server, so that users could come along and sign up and request help.
From a business point of view this is far better damage control than posting on AD

1. it shows foresight, knowing that a company has a contingency, makes buyers feel not only safe, but they feel that said site owner has made the effort to help people out.

2. Damage Limitation, simply this, hundreds of people will read this thread, and alot of them will choose not to purchase from model-gadget because of it. where as if it was run by model-gadget itself, users know its an option if they have issues.

for instance, how many people that have purchased goods will see this thread? not all of them i can assure you.

so good or bad?

brilliant that he is sorting out the issues here, but he should really be sorting it out from his end.

as i say i can see both sides point of view here, including mikes side also.

this is merely my oppinion on the situation and possible solutions to it, i have offered my services FOC, but should he wish to use another developer (if he cannot do it himself) it really wouldnt cost much to set up, a few hours of a devs time (depending on the dev $100 and onwards)

EDIT

ps, still no reply to my pm on my order either

Why is everyone " So understanding" ? Judging by the huge amount of posts on this and many other forums these guys are giving everyone a headache. People here ordered as far back as November and have still received nothing, That stinks!

If the server was down then how were orders taken on a daily basis? Looking at the posts it appears to me that people were placing orders on a daily basis judging by the dates. How much is a backup server anyway?

Furthermore, Judging by the value of orders placed and the amount of orders taken these guys are making serious money and should maybe reinvest some of it on a new site with better product availability information. I, Like many others when planning a purchase, Check the good old internet for the best price on any product but I would rather pay a little more and buy from a supplier who has an item in stock as opposed to saving a quid or two and waiting for back orders etc.

I have made purchases on the internet for about 10 years now and I can honestly say my dealings with model-gadget have quite simply been the worse experiences I have suffered.

It appears to me that they show no loyalty to their returning customers or indeed any customer whatsoever. If the server was down why didn't they get it fixed immeadiatley? I personally heard nothing from them for 10 days. Any IT support company would have been willing to sort it out for them straight away.

Finally regarding the christmas rush and your backlog , This is simply as a result of your own failings in being fully prepared, Your inability to get things back on track quickly and also your own failure in judging your stock levels. It is totally inexcusable to treat customers with such disdain, And a simple apology will not suffice. You could have offered to refund postage costs or placed a free gift in all packages which would have helped in rebuilding your reputation, Or you could offer all returning customers from this trading fiasco free postage on their next purchase. What do we get? NOTHING!

Personally I have received my item which I ordered on the 5/12 but it came by standard recorded delivery even I paid for Special delivery. I imagine this is in breach of standard trading rules and regulations as by doing this you are not supplying people with the service they have paid for. Is it any wonder that many shoppers still feel mistrust with regards to making purchases online in general and I wonder just how many customers of yours will never purchase online again due to your shoddy treatment of them.

Be a Man and stand up to the plate, Hire some extra help in if required and just give the CUSTOMER ( Thats the people who pay your salary) WHat they have paid for and quit with the lame and feeble excuses you continue to offer up in order to justify your current situation
Thank you so much for your critics, will take all in account for future preference. I'm glad to have SANTA like you kicking me in this critical moment. would you mind to let me have your order number so I can have look in to it please. thanks :)

@ Mike, thankyou, you've just saved Xmas

@ the wider NDS community -

I have used Model-Gadget for over £1000 of purchases in the last year, I have never had any problem until this period, faulty returns (2) have been accepted and replacements despatched immediately, comms have always been excellent and his value for money (especially his bulk purchase rates) are unquestionable.

Mike now needs to rebuild the trust of the community and we can all help with that, if you get your issue resolved, cut the guy some slack, he's held his hands up, admitted his failures and is now probably the most active poster on Afterdawn !

The funny part of all this is the number of people who reported Mike to trading standards for failing to deliver an item that "could" be used to play pirate software on a DS. But then I know you are all like me and use the r4 / m3 as a media player only !

Merry Xmas
Far too kind, thanks a lot for your always support.. merry x'mas to you from all of us at model-gadget.com
