I've got 4gig of mem, and in FreshDiagnose-it reads Maximum Memory Size per Slot it says (Error: Invalid Size)
is this something I should worry about

I doubt it, sounds like a bug with FreshDiagnose.

Nah, as that doesn't change the maximum module size of your motherboard, only how much RAM the OS can see.

You better sit down for this 108" LCD TV then before you click the link!. It's on sale too! LOL!!

I think 55" is the largest commercially available computer monitor, and they are over $3,000. Sony (Yes Sony) used to have a huge Panasonic "Jumbotron" in Times Square in NY that was billed as the World's largest LCD Display, and it is huge. Sony owned it! It's being replaced by year's end with a Panasonic "Astrovision" one that's 32' x 27'! 891 Square inches, and will be installed in Portrait mode. 4 stories tall!

Just imagine what that one cost! LOL!! The old one had much better resolution though! 2592 x 1944! It's being taken down to be replaced by the one above.

Can you say "Serious" Big Bucks! ROFLMAO!!

And for all those inches, it's still only 1920x1080, hence why I pointed out the 56", it's the only screen I've seen higher resolution than the 30" PC monitors that are now becoming popular.

Had an email from Russ about that, not an option really. The main problem is the falling pound, which negates the benefit of sending stuff over, as when I pay you guys in dollars, I still get the same problem. The only difference is you guys don't pay 17.5% VAT on your stuff, that's all you can save me, and after I've bought said item and sent it back, not getting my shipping costs refunded kind of make it a bit of a pointless exercise.

OK guys i have gotten my new Mushkin DDR2 800 2x1gb mem in and running nicely at 4-5-4-11 2t. they have been in all weekend and no problems with the starting up and shutting down that i was haven. i just put my OC back on the CPU. 3.6ghz is way to easy for this CPU tbh i haven't changed anything other then the mem settings. all is in auto Vcore hasn't moved from stock. my temps are the same as well.36-39c at idle. about 50-52c under load.
i have just used Intel-burn test and temps went to 63c i think.
here is CPU-Z
now to figure out that card controller error on my ODD. the message center from MS says i have a bad connection with the cables. now i can see that if it was 1 drive but on all of them?well 3 that are sata. i don't think it is the actual card control on the mobo cause i have my OS hdd not getting the error and the Esata cable from the case not getting the error as well.

Gigabyte boards have two S-ATA controller chips, sometimes three. Are they all connected to the same one? (Usually the block of six are the same, and the extra 2 or extra four are on different chips). For my X38-DS4, the block of four are on one, and the other two on another.

Of course, ICH10 can take 6 S-ATA ports at once. Hmm, then I'm lost...

POINT OF INTEREST
Blue Badge Patch for Windows 7
Rafael from WithinWindows has just released a patch to patch the Windows 7 build(6801) released at the recent PDC 2008 in Los Angeles. This build is the build that Microsoft handed out at the event, some how Rafael has found a way, or made a way to unlock some new features from the build shown at the conference. It?s only available for 32 bit systems(x86) the version for the 64 bit system will be released tomorrow. The files it patches are not automatically backed up so it?s highly recommend that you back up these files before they are patched! I know one feature that you all wanted is the new taskbar, yes it?s unlocked in this! That files the are patched and need to be backed up are below:
* \Windows\Explorer.exe
* \Windows\System32\wisptis.exe
* \Windows\System32\ieframe.dll
* \Windows\System32\shell32.dll
* \Windows\System32\stobject.dll
* \Windows\System32\TabletPC.cpl
* \Windows\System32\themecpl.dll
* \Windows\System32\themeui.dll
* \Windows\System32\powercfg.cpl

It unlocks a version of the new taskbar, but those features were locked for a reason. They aren't finished properly and have some bugs.
Still pretty cool. I'll run that patch today.

I have read of numerous problems in this area, with only the ODDs affected! You aren't alone and they are with all different brands of motherboards. I don't know whether it's the drives themselves or what! Did you try googling the problem? It's the main reason I stick with the IDE ODD drives! They don't seem to have problems! I have 6 Intel Sata ports and two Gigabytes, so I have 8 total. I can Hot Swap with the Gigabytes! I've heard that some people consider the Gigabytes (Realtec)Junk, but you won't her that from me! I use those to test other peoples hard drives or for an external. Just plug them in and they install themselves, and when you are done, Just click on that little green arrow thing to remove it. Beats shutting the computer down every time!

Been using an LG 20x S-ATA DVD burner on my Gigabyte for months with zero issues... Maybe it's ICH10 related?

Could any one help?
Im looking at building my first p.c, I am not going to be aiming for a top end gaming rig, but a system that will let me play games. I am looking along the lines of a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU and a 9600GT GPU. Now im foxed on the rest of it, I dont know what motherboard,ram,psu e.t.c to get. I want a system with a bit of upgrading potential with regards to the GPU but SLI is not essential. Lets say I have aprox £500 to spend on the system, any advice on components would be helpfull
Thanx
