That monitor keeps showing up... :P
I'm not fond of Acer monitors at all, it could be good, but Acer have made some really poor stuff in the past, I tend to prefer quality brands for monitors, you do stare at them whenever you use your PC.

Acer 19" monitors are fine, i've had/got a fair few of them - two different types (of the cheaper ones), they're perfectly fine :)
Main PC ~ Intel C2Q Q6600 (G0 Stepping)/Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3/2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500/Zalman CNPS9700/Antec 900/Corsair HX 620W

Just my opinion based on owning and abusing my 20.1" one for 2 1/2 years. All the less expensive ones use the same screen anyway!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824112015
Same price and there service is very good if needed and they even have a flat rate repair for after warranty that is unbelievable! Mine after running 14-17 hours a day for 2 1/2 years needs repair as the driver board is going out, and it's $75 flat rate! Way cheaper than any other place!

I think the "drunk" creaky is a little more engaging and even a bit more humorous. :) Of course that behavior from a MOD is few and far between but NICE to see for a change of pace. creaky I truly hope you find gainful employment soon and maybe before your 40th. :P Of course I'd have to find it in less than 3 days if I was the one searching.... hehehe. I is getting OLD!! :)
RedRob you trying to mooch free beer again?? Shame on you and from a "jobless" person as well.... I guess you lot try to hang together... hehehe. :P
All in good fun lads!! :)
Happy Computering.... :D

I looked at the SCEPTRE X22HG-Naga Black 22" 2ms very impressive
But the Acer carries a 3 yr warranty, unless your a gamer I can't really see how signifant 2ms vs 5ms response time can be. The specs on both are about the same

Usually the ms quoted is actually twice that number. It's for Grey to Grey, and that's pretty useless. That would make the Acer 10ms. Check that and see because if it's 5ms G to G than it's 10ms actual. I'll check it out and get back to you!

I don't know about meaningless but it seems that "feature" is over-stated for what you get. ;) I've looked at a lot of monitors and LCD TV's lately and I like Samsung. A little more money but the picture is fantastic from my perspective. :D

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think that your screen itself is on 24/7. I don't use any screen saver, because there's no advantage to doing so. All a screen saver does is put more stress on the screen drivers. My screen goes completely black after 10 minutes, which shuts the screen driver off. My screen is on most of the day, as I'm on the computer most of the day. Leaving it on 24/7 is a lot different than actually using it 24/7. My screen is on more than half of that time period, and most times it's on for 4-5 hours at a stretch without the screen turning off at all, like when I'm practicing playing the organ or running an air turbine simulation! Hell, I'm pretty much "house bound" as I only get out maybe once or twice a month, so the computer is my only connection to the outside world. I also read books on it, study, play games on Pogo and so on. That's why I say I abuse the hell out of it! It still works, but it's a PITA to get it to stay on. I have to set it so the monitor never shuts off, because if it does, I have to go through turning it on, off and on several times until it finally stays on. I'm not upset with Sceptre because I know that I am pretty much an exception to what most folks would call normal use. In 2.5 years of use, I've probably put more like 5 years of normal use on it.
The $75 flat rate repair from Sceptre is outstanding, considering that most places that repair LCD monitors charge around $125 or more for a 20"

Here's a pretty good explanation of response time and why some are better than others, and what it all means.

so i would say by reading that article JR that if you are gaming you want at least 8ms or below

Thanks for that Russ. As most LCD monitors are below 12ms we should be fine if we buy something that has a "decent" reputation. ;) I still like the Samsungs. :D
