Got my Sagem today and the software is in German. I am trying to read through the guides but it is wrecking my head. Many are giving conflicting advice about IP settings etc, or show setting I cannot select. I have the cables, services and sportster files. I have got the LAN connection saying it is connected but thats about it. Have gotten 2 different IPs that could be for the box. doing ipconfig /all shows me nothing.
Is there a single guide that goes through every single bit for a sagem?
When they say it is to be "off", is that plugged out, or standby mode?

Flash a UK modded image. I you got a german image its likely the UK/irish keys are not included and also the right scan feature is missing.

Yes, I understand the german image should not work. But I am so far unable to flash it across. I have DBOX2 Image-Flashing-Assistent but nothing happens. I click OK then plug the box in and as I understand it is supposed to say "flashing" on the LCD, but it just boots up as normal to the german screen.
I have filezilla but cannot get an IP for the box.

Flash using IFA. Saves you working through the German menus of your existing images. Guide here:

Press the dbox button, select Netzwerk and you see the box IP.
Leave the menues via the home button.
You can also select Sprache and select english.

Hi guys...That Ireland image didnt work from Benifa. It wouldnt allow me to do ascan then so I flashed the Sportster 1.7+ uk05_1x and did a scan. It first picked up 33 transponders (which its NEVER done) and from that 26 stations (radio and TV), but all were jumping and freezing very badly. I messed about with afew more settings and scans but thats the most I got. I feel like I'm so close now. I stayed messing about with it 'till late in the night but didnt get anywhere really. Do you guys reckon there is a better image? or would it be my settings?
What do you need to set the FEC to? 1/2, 2/3 etc?? and what should the Polarisation be? I have it at H....

Forget the fast scan in a sportster 1.7 image. Its only functional for sat.
Disable fast scan and select uk_sym6887 in the provider line.

I use Commando 7.5 (plus the update) on my dbox2 in Dublin with NT Hell and never have any problems whatsoever. You just have to remember that there are no keys...
With the image all you need to do is put the services.xml and bouquets.xml for your area into /var/tuxbox/config/zapit and Bob is your proverbial - oh, and the keys if you're into that kind of thing ;) to /var/keys
You shouldn't need to play with cables.xml or anything like that with this image.

How do you use it with the update? I think I have both thise files.. Do I just use IFA to flash both images? or flash commando 7.5 and then flash the update?

Try ucode 001A for your sagem.
You have to do 2 or 3 settings by your own.
The boxes are simply different and you have to find the best settings by yourself for your box.

Use IFA to flash the 7.5 image - it'll say that there are no channels, etc - don't do a scan or anything at this point. Now FTP the root update squashfs file to /tmp on the dbox. Once this is there you press the dbox button on your remote, then select 'service', then select 'Write one partition', then select 'root (squashfs)', then select the name of the image you FTP'd to /tmp, then select 'yes'. The dbox will reboot - again it'll prompt you to scan, I wouldn't...
Now you need to stick a good services.xml and bouquests.xml into the right dir and upload your keys to the right place too.
If you need services and bouquets for Dublin N*L I can get them to you.

I have that in my Ucodes file on the box. there are 7 files there in total. I presume that juat having them in the folder means that they will work when needed? Should i keep with Sportster image or try commando as suggested above? I am in Dublin using NTL and have a Sagem 1X.
If it makes any difference I have a NTK digital pace box that I have taken the settings off bit I dont know where to put these...

I find that ucode 0014 and MGcamd work best for me - but I have a nokia x2 - you'll need to play around with things to see which suits your box the best. Either 001A or 0014.
Having all of the ucodes on the filesystem is fine, but you have to use the menus on the remote to tell the box which one to use.
IMHO if you use the Commando image as I've suggested you can throw all of the settings away - you don't need them - and it *should* be pretty straight forwards.

There is a sportster menue under the blue button menue and there should be a hardware settings sub menue with the ucode selection. You have to reboot your box after a change.
Trying different images doesn't help with settings.

Hi,
I have a sagem dbox with german image currently on it. I am trying to FTP a sportster 1x image to it but having problems. I can connect to the box, view the files directories etc, view the webpage and also copy files from the box to pc, however everytime i try and upload the new image file to box it fails. It looks like permissions or something. Can anyone shed some light on this as i am running out of ideas at this stage.

After FTPing the image to the box what exactly are you trying to do with it? What process have you tried?

Hi there,
Thanks to benifa I have most of the channels available for NTL in Dublin.
However has anyone managed to get Setanta Golf??
I am desperate to get it. If you have it, could you send me on your bouquet.xml??
Thanks in advance,

Does it fail on tranfering the image to the /tmp dir? Or does it transfer the .img successfully but fail on flashing? Either way, try IFA.
