I have done all mine, grouping music, films, sport etc together. I did not like NTLs arrangement. If I upload my bouquet.xml will it be of any use to anybody?

To change you go to press dbox, got to service menu, pin is 1111, then edit bouquet. If you press the yellow button it highlights a channel, now you can move it up & down and press OK to place it somewhere. Also I found if you press volume + or - is skips through the screen to allow you move channels faster.

The web interface http;//ip-of-your-box/ is maybe easier for channel arranging.

Use the irish cables.xml and select chorus cable in the scan menue.
If you get chorus mmds a dbox is not functional.
If you are connected to a old analogue only cable network there are no digital channels.

Are you using true cable or mmds? If the latter, you won't get anything. For true cable, download and transfer the following cables.xml
http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/cables.xml
turn the dbox off and back on, then scan selecting "CableIE Chorus BruteF"

padshea - sent you an email mate..

Its easier to use the irish cables.xml and do a network scan via chorus cable.

I have tried the bruteforce scan with the above cable.xml, but it finds nothing.

The settings that are on the chorus supplied cable box under Network Conf are:
--------------------------------
Frequency in KHz - 570000
14) Tx mode - 8 K
Modulation - QAM64
16) Code rate - 3/4
17) Guard interval - 1/23
18) Bandwidth - 8 MHZ
19) Hierarchy info - None
--------------------------------

That are the settings from a chorus mmds box and the default frequency and the guard intervall are wrong.

This is a working Chorus box, installed by chorus on Cable.

It is not connected to a MMDS aerial.

Could chorus be using MMDS setup through cable here.

I guess the feed is connected to a central mmds mast.
8k in the settings is only possible for DVB-T.
Check the underside of the box. There is a sticker with the box name.
The name of a chorus sagem mmds box starts with ITD.

It looks like you never recognised the mmds mast around the corner.

There must be a thing with antennas standing around and all the blokes are connected to that mmds mast.

Its more difficult to flash a new image then to upload a simple file to the box.

I have put on sporster & the cabels, bouquet and service files on my box. If I back this up via the TV screen it creates an image. Can I flash this onto my mates dbox and give him a box just like mine, i.e. does it save the sporster and all my settings?

I planned on doing this but was having trouble, I ended up putting on sporster and the rest separate. I am getting another box from germany so will have to flash sporster anyway, so I do not see how it would be more difficult for me since I will have to flash an image anyway.

The files are pretty big but it would be nice if you could get a "sporster1.7-1x-dublin.img" file.

I had more trouble trying to get files on the box since I never used FTP stuff before. Flashing was the easier bit for me, just took 15mins to transfer.
