Thanks sadam for the info..
Now you have your image working and all channels, any chance you could back up your image, FTP it to your PC and then email to me?
I want to put it on my site to share with other Dubliners - your contribution could help many others mate..

Getting all the Irsih and English channels on the pace box.
I saw a thread where someone was getting 9 transponders?
should I be getting close to this as I'm only getting 5
Cheers
Take netid, dvb default frequency and symbol rate from the engineer menue of your subbed box and do a fast scan with that numbers at a newer image.

Ok, use the remote..
Press dbox,
Service Menu,
Image Update/Backup/Restore,
Flash Read/Write,
Read One Partition (Backup),
flash without bootloader.
You should get "The image was successfully saved under /tmp/xxx.img" (where xxx = the image name)..
Now just navigate to the /tmp folder using your PCs FTP program, and copy xxx.tmp to your PC. This is the backup of your image..
It's a good idea for anybody to do this, once you're happy with your setup, channels etc., because you can play around as much as you, and if you bugger it up, you just flash back your saved image, with your channels etc all in tact..
Sadam, I really could do with your image tonight if at all possible, for a guy in Dublin I'm trying to get sorted before tomorrow..

Hi Mark,
services.xml belongs in /var/tuxbox/config/zapit/
You need to FTP to the dbox. If you connect the dbox to the pc directly, you must use a crossover ethernet cable. If you use a router, you must a straight through, or "patch" cable..

Hi guys,
I got my D-Box and set it up but at first only got 52 channels like a few others here. Uploaded the services file from this thread and now get 140 channels, just wanted to check that this is what I should be getting on NTL in Dublin?
Thanks so much for your help by the way, it's really appreciated!

You can't - the cable companies in Ireland don't broadcast PPV movies (only sport, and seldom, lol)..

For info lads,
My site (though EXTREMELY basic as you will see), is in the process of being made. It won't be anything fancy, but I really do want to make a resource for Irish dbox users..
All your help is required though, so please keep emailing me your working images, and city/area.. PM me for address..
website is: dbox.ifawilson.com

Q) I have sky digital in my house but I know the previous owners used NTL MMDS (as I understand it regular ntl cable didnt extend to the estate).
Can someone point me towards a dbox assuming I can pick up signals from this ntl mmds ariel?

Sorry mate, a dbox is no good to you if you only have mmds..
If you buy a sat dbox, you could get into card sharing. Don't know much about this I'm sorry, but try here:

A dbox2 is working with NTL mmds. Only chorus mmds is not functional with a dbox.
Your first problem is to find a matching power inserter to feed the downconverter at the aerial with 12 volt. The power inserter will be collected with the box if a NTL subscribtion is canceled.

There are not so much channels available via Chorus cable. Check the channel list at the Chorus homepage.
Try ucode version 001A for your sagem and reboot your box.

Unfortunately there's no PPV movies on NTL Ireland :(
