I'm new to this and i would like to know if somebody could tell me how to burn ps2 games to dvd? I'm currently in the process of downloading a game and i have already got DVD Decrypter on my pc. My ps2 is already chipped it plays loads of games originals, and copy's. Can some one please tell me what to do next when the download is finished? Thanks philip
When you post a question like this, it shows that you have not taken enough time to read the pages of this forum, you have not taken any effort to do so, so your post will most probably be insulted or postponed for days maybe.
But I will spare you. :-)
When the download is finished you will most probably get either one .rar file or a whole bunch of .r01 .r02 .r03 and ect. if this is the case you will extract them (if you have the list of ".r01" you will unzip the first one, meaning 1) and at the end you will be left with an .iso file and probably an .mds file. you will open either one using DVD Decrypter and select write iso. Then you will insert a DVD-R and burn at 8x or 4x.
Hey Tipyko
Thanks for the advice, sorry about not reading all the pages it's just that i noticed there was like 150 pages and i couldn't be arsed to read through all the pages. Which would you say is the best write speed 8x or 4x? Thaks philip[/quote]just try 4x, (the slower you walk, the lesser chance you have of tripping :])

It was stickied for a reason :P
My guide is a bit outdated at this point, but works 100%
Hey Svtstang,I asked how to make the iso's smaller that DVD Decrypter puts out,and i checked your link and its about " how to: God of War 2 DVD9 to dvd5" I tried to make a image of God Of War 1 not 2,I tried making a iso my Final Fantasy XII Disk too, same thing the ISO is like 7 GIG how can i reduce the size of the disk without influencing the games performance? Power ISO can also make images of my games and the iso's are normal sized, will this work aswell?
Is This THe Internet??/?

to make things easier just buy a modchip and some dvd9s, for the amount of work that needs to be done and the quality you lose converting a DVD9-DVD5 you will be less stressed and much happier with the end results by putting up some money and buy the right tool for the job.
P.S.
for all the lazy people out there that wont read the thread, stop asking for help if you are not willing to help yourself, all the answeres are in this thread, burn speed ,media choices, program preference, .rar files, dl, and a lot of other usfull info, to tell you the truth you dont actually have to read every post, just skim them and look for key words that are relative to your problem.

Okay I am trying to burn this ps2 cd image to DVD format and I have everything I need other than one thing Nero. all of the guides to converting the CD to DVD use Nero so i figured I might as well get Nero burning rom. Turns out, I keep finding other versions of Nero I dont need. Like this one called 6.6.0.6 version. Please can someone give me a link to a free version of Nero BURNING ROM or at least a trial version that will let me at least use its features.

There is this miraculous thing in our world called Google. Type what you looking for, and chances are you will find it! Good luck finding Burning Rom, no trial version will have the features you are looking for.
Why not use imgburn or DVD Decrypter??? Both are easy to find......and free!

Hey everybody
I mananged to solve the problem myself :)
It seems that my ps2 wasn't reading the dvd's i was using. I remembered evryone one here saying that verbatim were the best dvd's to use with a ps2, and i found some laying around. Burnt the Iso to dvd put it in my ps2 and it worked like a charm, first time round :)

is google broken? cant people actually check the small stuff on their own. how to extract rar files? oh well. question: do you think if i burned a ps2 game and used magic disk ( or whatever) it might actually run on my ps3? if there is a small chance i might play around with it but if its impossible ill just wait for something to pop up :)

I'm going to have to say impossible.. just based on it being a completely different system and something with the Table of Contents..blah blah blah.. i think sony made it hard to mod the ps3 but just give it some time..we'll all have ps3 chips soon. i'm waiting for the price to come down before i get a ps3. i still have ps2 games i've never played so i'm good for a while.

Of course it wont, there are no real mods available for the ps3, besides being able to run linux....which allows you to nothing. Since you dont even know it is called swap magic im pretty sure you downloaded it or are planning on it, BUT.....swap magic is pressed just as is any retail game, meaning you need a legit version for it to work. To put it simply, it wont work.

i'm waiting for the price to come down before i get a ps3. - i bought mine for <350euros from japan thats why i bought it. As regards - Since you dont even know it is called swap magic im pretty sure you downloaded it or are planning on it, - i dont mind buying it. I buy everything and i download what im not sure about. If it worked i wouldnt mind buying an original one. but since it wont why bother. I never bothered with the ps2, i always bought originals, problem is theyre in a different region. oh well. ill just ship a couple hundred bucks of games from the us unless someone knows some good cheap site over the internet ( i dont mind second hands since ive got most of the games original- in french in PAL :| )

I would buy swap magic then, just to be able to play the games from different regions. Not sure how much it would cost you in Europe, but might be well with the purchase if the games in question are gems.
