God! Mercenaries make me crazy!!!! I can't figure it out....since I got your patch and I put rename " ptc-merc.iso", but it's not work and it didn't make sense. I'm really got confused...Can someone help me ?

have you tried opening a dos box and running the patch from there? If you do it that way, it'll show you if there are any errors. Also, is your harddrive formatted as FAT16 or FAT32?
ps2 v7 with matrix infinity and 160gb hdd

Nero Burning Rom
Windows XP Pro
psp with 3.40oe-a custom firmware

you keep saying that the patch doesn't work. But what exactly happens when you DO run the patch?! It's kind of hard to help if we don't know what's going on.

When I apply the patch it created an ISO of only 576Kb any suggestions.

what exactly is in the directory after you run the patch? Also, make sure you have at LEAST 9GB free on your harddrive.

Done it, just use the instructions on page 6.
I kept getting this on 3) m ?ASPI manager loading failed? and the recording screen didn?t come up.
All you have to do is download wnaspi32.dll from http://nero.com/us/WNASPI32.DLL.html and put it in C:\WINDOWS\system and it works fine.

I USED ISO BUSTER AND CDVDGEN TO DO FIFA STREET BUT IT STILL WONT WORK TRIED MERCENARIES WAS WELL THE IMAGE WENT TO 1.6 ODD GIG BUT IT STILL DONT WORK. ITS STRANGE AS EVERY OTHER BACK UP IVE MAKE IVE USED ALCOHOL AND IT HAS ALWAYS WORKED EXCEPT THESE TO GAME AND ITS DRIVING ME MAD

i have run the patch and have a file (4586528bytes (the original is 4586464bytes)) The new iso still doesn't work! i have used the cd loader for mercenaries from swapmagic.com! Neither of these work, in fact the patched iso freezes on the first mercenaries screen (not the one in the picture in the early thread) and the cd loader doesn't even load!! when i extract my iso i get a 1_00 folder. all of y files are then put , in order, into dvdgen with 1_00 at the bottom, is this right as it doesn't work?!? i have also tried leaving 1_00 out but then the iso is too small and i only get star.000.
Please help

2 Coasters down. I ran the patch and both files are 4.37 g but this one freezes at the Lucas screen. I have a copy that works with Cogswap but I don't have any large TOC disks. But it worked swapping with the original MERCS.

maybe I'm just lucky or something because I just put the original game in and used DVD Decrypter to save it onto my drive, then I used the patch and the new ISO that it made is what I burned. Worked perfectly after that. Not sure why everyone else is having hard time. Same idea for NBA Street V3 if you're planning on copying that. Gotta Decrypt and patch and Burn.

Does the mercs patch work on the PAL versioon.

my copy freezes on the lucas screen too. any ideas on the 1_00 file if i manually rebuild? how does toc work? how do i get the fixdisk from swapmagicfix.com to work with my game? I have tried the cd swapmagic then put in the cd that i made with the fix but it doesn't load! do i need to do something with an original game too?

I am totally confused by this patch business. I have downloaded it through the links when I unzip it, it says cannot copy .exe file and other files goes to a dos screen then nothing.
I know that you are supposed to change the name of mercenaries to the patch name and then open the patch in the directory but I don,t really know what this means. Could someone do me a real favour and explain in idiots language step by step how to apply the patch..

I tried backing it up yesterday with the DVDRick patch. The patch went through, and I got the new ISO file. I burned the new iso with Nero onto a Memorex DVD. I'm using v7 PS2 with SwapMagic 2 and SlideCard. The game is still freezing at the same loading screen. I tried cogswaploader and CDloader, but still no good. Somehow the patch did nothing. Any advice?
How are you people getting this to work? Do you need SM version 3? Do you need to burn with a different software? Do you use cogswaploader or CDloader? If you got it to work, please give us some specs, just telling us that it's working doesn't do much.

I was able to burn mercenaries with no problems following these exact instructions

before I found those instructions this game has caused me at least 3 coasters, but I whooped in joy when I finally got it, its a good game.

BelgianJ, that thread is 3 pages long. Which instructions exactly? The first original posting? Others have posted variations on those instructions. I'm sick of burning coasters for this game.
