I used to have a Q6600 and I took it to 3.6 ghz but it required high volts(1.48).

This guy who is selling thee(he has like 20 quad cores sent me a PM.

Quote:
#04: X3220 g0 ($165) 1.3120v is a GREAT CHIP.

XEons are monster clockers.

I can give it to you for $160.
Think I should go for it?

krj15489,
Ironically, the Box Q6600 on Newegg has the crumby B3 stepping for $199 while the OEM for $184 has the better G0 stepping!

I've been very happy with the Corsair XMS and the Dominators. Check with the "Post your Nero cd/dvd speed quality scans here(2)" thread here on AD. those guys know their stuff when it comes to Optical drives. Optiarc 7200s and Lite-Ons seem to be the best!

boozer,

ya lost me. you were talking about Q6600's and said alright so I'm getting it, and then you put a X3220 in the build list. which are you going with?

the only samsung dvdrw drive I have any experience with is the slim drive in my laptop and it sucks. I don't think they (slim drives or half height's) are capable of bitsetting so that alone would detour me from them. I just retired my old litey for an optiarc 7200 that I bought off the GM and I like it so far.

Mort, I am going to use the Xeon. This build is not only upgrades but I'm also trying some different things. That's why the Asus board, the Xeon, the Tuniq Tower instead of the Xigmatek.

I'm off to sleep now. Catch you all laterz.

nothing wrong with that!! the tuniq is just a step below the TRUE and was the most used cpu hsf for benchy's and OC reviews prior to the TRUE hitting the market.

did you dl and read the manual for that mobo? not that you won't like it. I've seen a lot of the P5K's used around the web.

No I havent read the manual. lol

Who reads manuals? Only time I ever read mobo manuals was when I first built my computer and that was to connect the front ports. It's a pretty good board, I'm sure it will be just as good as the Gigabyte. And it has more heatsinks.

if it's not to late to add my suggestion buzar on that..cause i believe..i got the only BenQ in here LS-1655 still runn'in strong thanks GM..

now these are few of the best to have in order..

(Lite-on 20xLH-20A1S) oem or retail few dollars more just a cable and a disc nero..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106070

(Sony NEC Optiarc Black 20X-AD-7200S-0B ) Just got this bad boy from the ups man today $25.99 it stands Next to the BenQ in Quality Reading and Scanning..like it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118012

now if you want a sammy.I heard the best 1 to have is:
SAMSUNG Black 20X- SH-S203B
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151153

now Pioneer is tricky to me in some ways..they took over Plextor after px-716 & px716sa now all the plextors made now are rebadged pioneers..the old rebadged plextor 716 turned into pioneer DVR-115D I believe if i remember right GM can quote me on that ..i wish could get my hands on an Old Girls px-716sa man..i wanted my case to ride with plextor,BenQ,Lite-on it's (-Plextor) to bad now
it's Sony NEC Optiarc instead cause it's like a BenQ..

but this would be the choice to go with:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129032

that GM is the true burner man.i learned from him on the best brands to go with and my burns come out good but it's depend on your blank media you also..remember that 4 sure..it's not away the burners fault..

and if your getting a Seagate 250Gb..i would go with this one:Barracuda ES.2 ,32mb Cache $79.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148309

Done out of Here!
