When I first bought my PSone, on the day it came out. It would over heat after 30-40 minute of playing and lock up. The store didn't have any that I could trade for, and i was thinking it was a personal problem with only my PSone. So I kept the one I had for the time being, but after doing a little checking around their were a whole lot of PSone's whom were over heating. I never ever thought about starting a lawsuit over something like that. It had not caused me any body harm so why in the world would anyone sue over something like this. I just don't get it. You sue when you have been hurt, and can't get any help any other way, sueing is a last resort, or atleast it should be. this is one of the things that is ruining this country now. Hey that guy looked at me wrong I think I will sue him for that, please give me a break. If this guy would fix his problem himself for a little while and give MS a little time, everything would be just fine. I didn't get a Xbox360 when it launched because I just don't see the big step-up from Xbox, or PS2, so I will wait until it is a little cheaper, problems are fixed, and their are better games. But if I could have just walked into a store and picked one up with no waiting in line or all the other junk I have to say I would have got one. I stood in line at a wal-mart store for 14 hours to get a PS2 the day it came out, and I said that No way, no how, would I EVER do that again, it is not worth it, even if it was made of gold.

As far as my PSone went, I cut the side out of my PSone and put a small fan to blowing right into it and it never over heated again, later on when the newer Psone's came out and the heating was solved I contacted Sony, talked to them about my system, when I bought it, and what was going on, and I know it might shock you, but i sent my Psone to them and they sent me a new one that worked just fine. Sony DID take care of me, and I am sure if you just sit back and wait a little while MS WILL get things rolling, just give them some time. It will all be just fine. And as far as the guy who is sueing MS over this, I hope with all my heart he lose's this and then he is sued by MS for wasting their time with something this sad.

Well, then why is the xbox 360 cost $399 and $299? They should do more R&D (Research and Development) before put a product on the market for that much. All for what? trying to beat PS3 to the market. Ever heard of the story of the tortoise and the rabbit? Well, guess who is the tortoise?
aww snap son.... so so true.

hmm microsoft should have done beta testing on the 360, but there were SO MANY geeks and sore wannabees that wanted the 360 they didnt stop *crying* for it, so that, along with the other reason of getting it out before the PS3 is why they had to skip it.

@ modster

i know about capacitors, and resistors, etc.
capacitors unit is farads, and the resistor is the ohlm.
i learnt about PIC chips (perhiperal interface controllers), 555 chips (2 example circuits are the mono-stable ones and the A-sable ones) and also the 741 Operational amplifier chip.
i also learnt quite a bit about mechanics and different types of motion (oscillating, reciprocating etc). plus lots more about electronics (inc. LOTS of components, e.g. solenoids, polarised cells, Logic gates - NAND, OR and NOR ones for example, etc.)
i learnt all that in systems and control technology, it was bloody hard but i was great at that stuff and i got a 'A' grade, the only person in my class to get that, and im proud of it, and its very useful information.
plus i KNOW SHIT LOADS ABOUT COMPUTER PARTS espceially about GPU's.

Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......

You guy are worse than a bunch of old women. If you dont want an Xbox 360 fine don't buy one. If you can't afford to buy a system for $399,
then dont.It may have flaws, but i took the chance and bought it.I'm
happy with mine.Just wait untile the P3 comes out (I have mine reserved) I'm sure it will have it share of bugs. DEAL WITH IT!

Microsoft deserve everything they get, they,ve rushed the untested 360 into production in an attempt to put sonys ps3 second in the marketplace. as for the 360 fellowship of fans, 3% of faulty consoles reported in as many weeks since release is very high.
How many 360 consoles are going to last the full 12 months.
These big associate companys need someone to stand up to them, fair-play to anyone thats willing to get them into a court of law.
Has someone got to be burned or worse for companys to listen.
Overheating equals burning consoles, and damaging other electrical goods around them, theres already been incidents of faulty power supplys et,c. it,s all about the greed for money.
Companys such as Microsoft and E-bay, haver too much Power-money and authority. This gives them the power to play God.
If i buy an x-box or a 360. i,ve bought it, payed for it it,s mine.
If i want to modify it, put a console skin on it, take it apart and put a light in it, thats up to me. if i void thier warranty.
They want the sole rights to everything. Greed-Greed-Greed.

can you explain you last paragraph a little better, xbmods?
(It doesn't make sense to me)
Actually, could you try to explain your entire post better? I just realized I have no idea what most of your arguments are.

I agree, I just think we as people gripe about everything, even things we don't own. When you buy anything house, car , Xbox 360,
nothing is perfect you have to expect defects. As a consumer it's a chance everybody takes.MS never claimed to be perfect nor did SONY
(4-5 differant versions of the P2).Opinions are like #$%holes, every one has one.

faulty power cords were on xbox, not 360. 3% Of anything isn't a whole

lot. MS and SONY are playing for the same prize, your money.

its time someone shafts microshaft. the overheating is 3% is a big number tho. so 3 of 100 sold were defective. i believe that is ungood. i remember getting my ps2 and leaving it on for 4 weeks cuz i had no mem card. it finally crashed while loading the train cinimatics of the above ground subway in gta3. i was sad cuz i had beaten the game. i just played it again and left it on another 3 weeks and finally prchased a card.

With my point of view, $399 for a xbox 360 version BETA is too expensive. If you look at xbox 360s in Japan, they are cheap like SHIT. Big promotions/sales are everyday like $150 per xbox 360 in some places. But xbox 360s are still sitting on shelves to collect dust while Christmas is coming close.

http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EEFuVEFppZfOKBgjvY.php

Meanwhile, people, over here, are crying, dying, praying to get one for Christmas. Japanese are laughing, insulting to all these American xbox fans who lines-up all night or paid big bucks on Ebay for a BETA console.

Well, I woke up myself. I sold my xbox 360 (opened box) for $400 on Ebay last week. I'm still enjoying my old modded xbox. F-U-C-K xbox 360 for this Christmas.

I was thinking the same thing but then I found out that the X360 is coming out in March here in Australia and seeing that I have the money to spend I am getting it as soon as it comes out.

It's Here!!!

If you sold your XBOX 360 for only $400 on ebay then you lost money

because of taxes paid on purchases.I tend to believe you are telling an untruth and never owned a 360.

Because me xbox has problems with overheat. The heat affects a lot on CPU and graphic chip. When the xbox got so hot, the colors start changing. It will last for awhile and will be freeze. That is why I sold it for $400 on Ebay.

The guy, who bought it, still have 1 year warranty with MS. So he should be OK.

I have seen way worst of those stupid lawsuits, but I still hope MS crushes that guy in court. As four the XBOX 360, I'm still waiting for the improved version to arrive. First, because I don't have patience to deal with faulty hardware and warranties, second, because I don't have cash to waste, and third, because the launch titles weren't tempting enough for me(few of them are great, though). Af for the japanese disliking the XBOX 360, can't we buy the consoles from them at a good price? I mean if they are selling cheaper over there, why should they let it go to waste? Would it be posible to play NTSC titles in a japanese 360 without mod?

Razengan!!!

the xbox has region coding. the ps3 has many talks discussing removing any region coding for the bluray disks due to complication and simplicity of sharing world wide games on any system.
