That would eliminate one reason to develop a modchip, and probably delay the process of hacking the console. Brilliant from Sony, if they indeed do it that is.

My xbox 360 never overheats. And I think it only does when someone is sticking it up his cr*ck while playing.
I assume there are always people trying to steal money from those who are honestly working and creating new things by sueing them for the most hideous causes. I just deeply despise those ridiculous low-lifes.

btw, region coding... as far as I can see I can change the region code and the language on my 360 in the menu.
Is there a limit as to how often you can change the region code?

yes that is true, like here in europe we have PAL compiled games.
America, middle east, china area etc will all have different ones.
IF* that was to be done (get rid of compilation) then that'd be great.
Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......

If the ps3 is anything like the inovation of the psp,
buy an xbox 360
Between me and my bro, we have had no problems (though we had to send 2 psp back for dead pixels)
1080i on the best live service in the world,

PS3 is bad value compared to the 360 when it comes out. im NOT going to pay £400 (in england) for a PS3 compared to the £280 360 premium package, plus im not paying more for a weaker console with worse games, no waY!
and im not paying £60-70 PER GAME for the PS3 (thats BLU-RAY for you, bloody expensive). £45 for 360 games is expensive enough, good old PC games are £30-35, ah cant beat a bit of PC now and then can u.
besides the consoles FPS's will never have proper traditional mouse aim with razer mice (yes razer is a gaming mouse maker, there frag-tastic), which pwns FPS's for pc.

I cant wait until PS3 comes out and wite the 11 mistakes made by Sony.
Its very easy to slag off a console thats just come out with all the roomers and speculation going around. Just like what happened to the PS2. In truth none of these so called 11 mistakes have taken effect becuase it would be complete chao's out there for Microsoft and its consumers. No one would buy the console if it was as bad as you suggest.
This is a pointless argument to make.

if nobody wants to buy a console and later decide it stinks, then buy a friggen lite-brite or 'operation' and don't complain about pricey console wars. they've always been pricey, but it's a matter of inflation and stuff now, but either way, don't complain about the prices being too high, the stuff's new, if u don't like it wait 5yrs till it's down.

when PS3 comes out, it will = lower 360 price (and the 360 is more powerful and has better games), and halo 3 will come out then, for the cheaper more powerful 360.when PS3 comes out the 360 will be about, id guess £250 for the premium package, the PS3 will be £400 and it will have less games (as it will be its launch)and is less powerful.
360 has a bright future i think. if you know what i mean you know where i am coming from.

If PS3 did come out first then this argument would be like you lot suggest. PS3 would seem like the underpowerd console and all this trouble with launch would be placed on the PS3 instead.
Just one thing to the PS3 fan boy roadkille. I am still not 100% on buying the 360 yet although it is out now and I have read every scrap of information. The reason why I am not 100% is because I want to see all of what Sony have to offer which means I am going to have to wait until January and a few months after to find out. What makes you so sure (with the limited information you have recieved from Sony) that PS3 is the right choice? Also there is nothing that can be used at the Sony press conference at E3 which can prove it the better console. The reason is because all Sony conference's are a show to wow audiance's just like the PS1 and PS2 conference's. Sony are very good a decieving and to prove my point, at this E3 they showed FMV vidoe's of games with no actual game footage and also they use the term Super computer but they say it in a way that people misinterparate. They say the PS3 can produce nearly 2 teraflops which is a high performance rate unit which is used in Super computers. He does not say it is a super computer. Then becuase Sony have already seen what the 360 has to offer they take Microsoft's figure's and spin them to make thier console seem more powerful.
So roadkille tell me from the information you know now on the PS3 and the very very limited information you most likely know on the 360, please tell me how this PS3 will out performe the 360?

Have you read all my posts on this thread and all the other threads?
Well you will see that I have been deciding between what system to buy between the two. However although I was origionaly going to be getting a PS3 my deisision then swayed when I read and saw all the information on both systems. But this is not set in stone as Sony have still got to show a bit more in January.
You desision has already been made by reading all your posts. You dont like the controler or the look of the 360. You think the Linux OS of the PS3 will be better than the 360's functions. You think a console with out blue ray is going to have real problems. You belive the power of the PS3 to be significantly more powerfull than the 360. You think the games on the PS3 will be better. I could go on but I dont think I have heard you say one good word on the 360.
The only person your fooling is yourself. You havent felt the PS3 controler so dont know if its better in your opinion to the 360's. You havent heard of the PS's OS functions yet besides that its going to be Linux based. You have this thing in your head that blue ray will mean better looking games with more content when 2-3 dvds that will hold around the same amount of information will not? You think the games on the PS3 will be better when you have only seen about 10 of them. Then you think the PS3 is signifcantly more powerful than the 360 when you havent seen an actual game running on the machine and a non-biased tech test on the machines with points of view from developers.
So yes I am still in decision as to wherether to get a PS3 or 360 and I might switch back again to get the PS3 again after Sony show more in January. This is because all those questions that you dont know, I dont know either but I like to wait until those questions are answered before making my desision. I am just more convinced on the 360 side at the moment. You are set on PS3 and thats that. Which is fine just dont fool yourself or the people here. Whats the point? There is nothing wrong with being a PS3 fan boy or 360 fan boy. It gives good discusion.

truthman, i think you are one of the most biased people out there. saying the ps3 will have less power and ability is wrong, saying it will have crap for games it wrong. the line-up for ps is peobably the best ive seen. the one for the 360 wa decent, but it is nothing compared to the ps3's. you need to open your friggin eyes. and i dont think the ps2 will be 400 in ur money, that is ungodly. it will be 400 in out money, which is sensable. the 360 is not worth its price, but the ps3 will be. look at all its extra abilities, plus the blu ray? wow it gunna be nice.

The jury is still out on P3 as of right now no one on this link can say what the P3 will be able to do.No one knows what the games will be able to do.If you say you do, YOUR LYING. Until P3 is released to the public,like the 360 is right now along with the games,you dont know what it's gameplay will be like. With that,I'm going to play my 360, which dosen't overheat,or distort the picture like roadkille(twisted metal-yeah I know all about P2)says his supposedly does.
The 11 mistakes that microsoft is suppose to have made is 11
things that sony whishes it had done wrong.After I get my P3 I might change my views, but maybe it might reinforce how much better my 360 is.Oh shit, I forgot there's no release date for this great system
that is being HYPED, until it's released I will keep playing my 360
which is sitting nicely by my Denon av.

Merry Christmas everyone.
UHALL brings up good points. How can anyone comment on the PS3 being better without being/seeing the CES convention or until its released. From all anubis's posts it seems he is not to wise on the 360, its games and its functions. I have read too much on both systems to make some kind of fair comparison. In this I can truthly say I am still not sure what PS3 is capable of and the things it can do. Sony hasnt said a word.
However from what I have read and seen 360 seems to be that better choice.
One question to anubis. Most of the games on the 360 are new games like 'Mass Effect' or 'Dead Rising'. How do you know that the 360 line up is OK if you know nothing of these game's and by the sound of things not even watched the video's? Also what is this PS3 line up of 150 games you talk about? All I have seen of these 150 is about 10-20 of the games and thier either FMV or a video of somesort.
