I tried it and it didn't work.
I used plugin - Shrinker ps2 DVD9 layer 1
Should I have used DVD5 version?
And I ran the process Extract, extract, rebuild, rebuild.

I read on some other forum that this tool joins part1.pak and part2.pak into one file, but does the resulted image fits on DVD5? anyone tried? unfortunately I dont have gow2 DVD9 image myself, they replacing dsl equipment in my area, so I am back to dial up, other wise I would try the plug in myself :)

So did you use the xpert2 for gow 2 and the Gran Turismo 4 guide, or did you do smoething different, and if yes What? Do you know if you have made it 51% and saved the game?

So your using a dl disk with swap magic? I was aware that the toxic patch was only for 50% of the game if using sm

No I didnt use Genie expert. Just patched with toxic patcher. And Rebuild using the guide on this thread. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/275350
I don't even know if you need the patcher but I used it anyway. It should'nt be a problem after coverting from DVD9 to DVD5 with the rebuild. At least it wasnt 4 me. I don't know about SM 3.8. I hear u need an extra patch for any game 2 work with that disc I dunno.

How many GB is it? Let see if you can get 55% of the game played and saved.

@ Noober Guy so you have urs on a dvd 5. Did you patch it with toxic? Then rebuild it with that guide?

I keep u posted. Shouldnt be a problem though. As it is the same process as Any other DVD9 rebuild. Like God Of War 1, 50 cent, Gran Turismo, ect. Oh it was 3.97GB after rebuild.

Yeah, I burned the first layer and played the hell out of it.
If you go this method, you will only be able to play until you reach something something cayasm (spelling). That's still 5-8 hours.
Was hoping my game would come today, but oh well.

Well, I burned it on DVD9 with the patch, and like you said it freaks out once you reach the area called the great chasm or something or other.... I think the layer breaks need to be specified for this or something, i know that is how it goes for the 360s. Anyone know the layer breaks?

i tried both methods http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/275350
that one
i ended up with a 3.97 gb file
and when you open the iso with isobuster it dosent even see the second layer PART2.PAK // so for sure you will only end up with the first part of the game
btw that method is the long way
i also patched both methods with the toxic patcher
and i tried the easy method with gnies rebuild tool 1 2 3 4
Select the shrinker plugin, then go to "Big File" and open the .iso
Click on "Extract LBA - (#1 on bottom left)" (you might get an error regarding audio or sound, but it's okay)
Then, click on "Extract File - (#2 on bottom)" (this will take a couple minutes)
Then, click on "Rebuild File - (#3 on bottom)" and when that's complete, click "Rebuild LBA (#4 on bottom)"
Finally, burn the .iso that has "New" as a part of it's name
also i ended up with a 3.97 gb file
both methods only rebuild the first layer PART1.PAK
and the toxic patcher does not link PART1.PAK and PART2.PAK together//i have no clue what its for
nooberguy u did not get the entire game
i tried one of these iso files last night and game plays
but try and go to watch the begining credits you will get a black screen
btw i am using swap magic 3.6

Is this what you have? FULL image GodofWar2 7.94GB 8,333,664KB SCUS_974.81 15 Files 3.97GB 1-Layer, with PART2.PAK 3.97GB 2-Layer for total of 7.94GB and 16 Files. I just need to know that what I have is Right.
I thought that the rebuild would be about 4.34GB or 4.35GB, so that means wait for Sonix GOW2 Patch with both layers
I use "Swapmagic3.8 Coder" the same as SwapMagic3.6 but SM3.8 has codes

i burnt mine to DVD5 (i know its only half of the game)since you burt the entire iso when u hit credits what does it do ?

@neptune. Mines playing but you seem right, and since I'm not past 55% of the game I can't confirm now. I didn't even know there was a PART2.PAK file what program are u using to mount the ISO? I used IsoBuster, then Ultra ISO. Then read the iso with WinRAR just to recheck what you said about the PART2.PAK file. I still didn't see it. Are ECHELON releases garbage?
