What was your final rebuilt working Image size for a DVD5?
Have you made about 51% and saved?

that is NOT how you merge the .paks
To merge, go to dos and then to the directory the files are in and type
copy /b part1.pak + part2.pak new-part1.pak
edit
Im still downsampling, takes a bit of time, but ill tell you when im done.

Ok stang I am back again man. Sorry to bug ya. What program you using to open the .pak files in order to see the .pss and psw files. I have the part1 an 2 merged just tryin to figure this out and gnie app doesnt wanna open the pak any help would be great

OK iso work! 3.97 gigs. Movies look poopy but it works.
You need gnie's GOW 2 plugin and use xpert 2. Ill up the plugin in a lil bit if you cant find it.

Oh wow, you really did it huh? How "poopy" is the video quality? Is it like a little pixelated or HOLY JEEZUS THIS SUCKS LOL.

It isnt my rip, but i guess i can do that. Gnie made a post a while ago, here it is. Ill go ahead and do what you suggested tomorrow, im beat!

1. run xpert2
2. selelct gow2 plugin
3. open the B select the bigfile= new-part1.pak
4. open the T select the tablefile = godofwar.toc
5. click 1 extract lba
6. click 2 extract file (take a long time to extract all the file ,~7.93gb
7. goto @new-part1.pak folder ,do what ever you want to dummy .pss .psw or ds .pss .psw
and after that check all the files total size must be less then 4gb
8. click 3 rebuild file after done you will get the new-new.part1.pak and godofwar-relink-lsn.txt
9. goto to tool -> relinker then open the godofwar-relink-lsn.txt and load, then relink those file you dummy ,all done click save
10. then exit the relinker
11. back to main xpert2 tool, click 4 rebuild lba
12. now you got new-new-part1.pak and new-godofwar.toc
13. delete all the old file new-part1.pak, godofwar.toc and @new-part1.pak folder , all the .txt file
14 rename new-new-part1.pak as part1.pak and new-godofwar.toc as godofwar.toc
15. use cdvdgen open the dvd-rom master project and drag and drop all those file and do what ever you know .
16. export gow2.iml and gow2.ims file
17. use my cdvd_iml2iso gui ver 5.1
18. build the gow2.iso
19. burn your game
I know that isnt much detail, but ill expand on it tomorrow.

I have the dvd 9 iso. Can anyone confirm if it will work if I use the toxic patcher and just burn it onto a Verbatim DVD+R DL? I'm using a normal mod chip, not Swap Magic. Just curious if anyone has successfully played through the whole game with no hitches using this method.

Isn't it possible to separate the image in half, and put both layers, on two single layer dvd's?
God of war 2's videos as much as the gameplay is what I enjoy, not getting the same experience is a piss off.

I don't think it's possible. Even if it were you would still have to downsample quite a few of the movie files as you would need ALL the other files on BOTH discs, I think?!

i have the same problem, altough mine crashes a little before icarus, it crashed when kratos jump to the cave in the AREA: CROSSING THE LOWLANDS. i need help

Yeah, having the same problem here, only with icarus... Burned using the above tut still can't get it to load... Anyone at all get it to work past this point?

thanks for the help with getting the full game to work on a DVD5. I was curious to see if there was anyway to possibly break up the game into two disks. I was thinking something like this
Disc1 -
Both layers of gameplay, but only the PART1-0 PSS sets and dummy Part2-0
Disc2 -
Both layers of gameplay, but only the Part2-0 PSS and maybe the intro or
whatever so it wont freeze and dummy the part1-0.
Anyone think that would work?

Hey guys, hopefully someone can help....has anybody had any luck with getting GOW2 to work with USB Extreme? I spent a few days trying to get it down, but no luck :(
I have the DVD5 version of GOW2. Thanks in advance for any help.

The 2 DVD5 ripkit has already been done by psychospacefish over at a*****d( not sure if I'm allowed to mention the site directly), the same guy that did rogue galaxy. Nothings ripped or downsized and it is reported as working. I have used the kit and have 2 dvd5's but haven't got that far in yet, so far its fine here, widescreen, all movies etc.

hi......jus a few q's....
i got gow 1..ripped it to my pc using clone cd, then copied
it to a verbatim dual layer dvd...popped it into mp ps2 and it worked, until i go to pandoras temple,it freezes and jus says loadin...now i read that it may take up to 9min to load so tonight im gonna try that.
now i also got gow 2 ripped to pc again using clone cd, i got that toxic patch, it says all i gotta do is rip to pc, use the patch on the iso,after patching, copy it to dual layer, and my ps will read it...has any one tried that???

p.s apparently the patch fixes the burned copy so that the ps2 can read BOTH layers..
