No, you just have a low rail on it. That voltage is lower than what the TX650 usually puts out. Just as a check, have you used any other program to test / can you check voltages in the BIOS?

Sam,
I realize I could be going overkill on a PSU, but 1)I dont like the thought of Not enough power. 2)I could easily add more HDD's later.

You do know im running 4 HDD's, and 6 ODD's, as well as multiple USB connections? Disconnecting one of the HDD's had a fairly significant effect on the 12V value. Im pretty disappointed with this PSU! I will no longer endorse OCZ!!! They're gonna receive a bad egg!

I have no interest in going green. Im power hungry as they come. :D

You are. And i believe Sam is (still) going to pains to explain that to you :)

But it doesn't look like you're in danger of needing more power, now or later :)

And ?. :)
Graphics wise i am running a pants low powered graphics card, but i am running 6 internal HDD's, 3 internal ODD's, 6 ODD's via USB and 9 HDD's via USB. All from a lowly Corsair HX 620W PSU. I've no idea how to measure PSU draw but Sam's roughly calculated my output before and it's a fraction of the 620Watts.

(obviously USB powered stuff takes some juice to run however external HDD's and ODD's with their own power are mostly using external power so the USB power draw should be minimal)

Fair enough that you want more power, but you keep posting that you need more power

/offtopic - yesterday i found someone else here at AD with your enthusiastic posting style but i'll bet i can't remember the link, i'll have a look

A 580W PSU, when converted to a single-rail with a handy bit of soldering, can run 16 Seagate HDDs, which use more power than any other brand.
That's not even a good 580W either, it was a Hiper Type-R.
What you don't seem to realise is that having a stupid power supply does not result in environmental damage at all, it's just throwing money away.
Not only can you run your system on a 650W TX, you can add another GTX260, add four more HDDs, throw some cold cathode lights in, a few extra DVD burners, maybe a handful more USB devices, overclock your CPU even further, and still have room to spare.

I dont take coincidences lightly guys. When I overclocked, my 12V value dropped, what ever the error prime 95 reported, a core completely cutout. And the 12V stabilized. increasing the CPU power did not help. IT SHOULD HAVE. Increasing the CPU power caused the 12V value to drop even more and error quicker.

I need sufficient power for both my hungry 260GTX and my PhenomII.
Now how wrong does this sound? Buy the 620HX (3 18Amp rails), to replace a 700W (4 18Amp rails). And I say again, this PSU has REALLY left a bad taste in my mouth. Cause I dont doubt that the Corsair is better! But it still bothers me looking at those facts. Companies shouldn't be allowed to exaggerate their equipment!!!

Because your 700W GameXStream is a 400W PSU. It's perfectly logical to go from a 400W PSU to a 620W PSU.
Yes, the PSU is at fault, but that's not because the wattage isn't high enough, it's because the PSU isn't as powerful as it says it is. Corsairs ARE.

It's a rough figure I picked out of the air, but it's the sort of thing most PSUs do. They'll only go as far as x figure and then they'll become unstable, and a bit further they'll shut down. The 1010W GameXStream shut down at 700W, so it's most likely 650W max. I applied the same maths to the 700W GameXStream. Granted, it doesn't really work like that, but suffice to say the maximum wattage output of the 700W OCZ is less than that of a 620 or 650W Corsair, so despite the label, it's still a more powerful unit.

Amazingly, that board is laid out almost identically to my server's EP31-DS3L. All it's missing is the third PCIe 1x slot at the top, and the fact it has two IDEs.

True. The GameXStreams are decent-ish but lacking in power compared to like rated designs from other manufacturers. They would be much better PSUs IMO if they'd actually rate them accurately. The 700W GameXStream has the exact same internal layout as my 600W StealthXStream. But the StealthXStream 600W actually shuts down at about 660W so I can safely say it's a good unit. It even handles my HD4870s in Crossfire without issue or extra noise. I would put it at a comparable level of quality and power to my 620HX. OCZ has been slipping lately but they can still release a good product.

I also have no faults with the 4GB of OCZ Platinum RAM in my dual core box. The rig OC'd just fine with no complaints from the memory. And no dead sticks after 3-ish months in my machine and 6 months in another OC'd machine before that.

I won't knock OCZ until I see bad hardware. And so far, having worked on several rigs with OCZ stuff in them, I haven't found any bad components. They're alright by me.

Agreed though that high end(700W+) PSUs are better left to companies like Corsair, Zalman, and PC P&C.

Some of the RAM is a bit dubious, agreed. But most of what I've seen works just fine.

I especially like their 4GB Fatal1ty Edition PC6400 kit. It's priced well with the same timings as my Platinum. Not to mention it looks cool XD I have recommended it to friends and they are quite happy with it.

Ugh, all of the controversial looks, none of the cooling or build quality.
You'll never see me with an Apevia case, the cheap ones are exactly that, and the expensive ones aren't anywhere near as well built as they should be for the price. That Telstar's more expensive than a HAF!

is that due to the type of medal that used to build the case? or you saying that it looks like reynolds wrap inside...lol does'nt a thinner medal hold lesser heat then a heaver one? I see you like to spend big bucks on certain parts:) me as well mine is in cooling the case fans & heatsinks I like big heatsinks and fans you quote me everytime on my choice of heatsinks that you would'en spend that type of money on...My favorite are cooler masters they work well for me for the longest time...i remember cincy had the ac freezer 7 on his rig and his temps where kinda high then he turned around a slapped the cm 92mm Hyper tx2 back on and the temps dropped 5 degrees what's that telling you? the hyper was cooling better thats due to fan size and rpm's and cfm..hmm as for the HAF well design case it has alot options for the fans setup and the water cooler also..I can't knock that case at all well built...I just like taking something simply and modifying it to make it diffrent it's not how your car Looks but it's how it runs...sam i like you rigs and i know you spended a nice piece change to build them but each of us build on what we like and need out of are systems and we can afford...

enjoy building...

well boys the lite-on 24 was on my bed waiting for me when i came home from work to install it:)

Just spotted this in a special offers email:
http://www.saverstore.com/product/200270...rd-HD-435X-YAH2

Initially I thought it might have been a typo, but no, it looks like there really is such a thing as an HD4350, interesting...

Edit: Just found this cheaper version:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/512MB-Asu...-Sub-DVI-I-HDMI

DVI, VGA and HDMI with passive cooling for £27. Not bad!
