Sakura runs faster, Looks better and allows you to set your own backgrounds using almost any image on the card.
The skins are a single file and you can store more than four on the card.
You don't need confusing directories to use roms (D\nds or D\gba) You can run roms from anywhere on the card.
You probably haven't used pictures, movies or music but you can use .mp3s most pictures and convert most movies into .dpg with a free converter and the ds will play it, The Movie, music picture viewer on the M3Real is slow and crashes a lot but by switching to Sakura you can run movies music and pictures in the main sakura menu and it's more reliable and easier on the eyes.
Oh and it might be worth mentioning that the M3Real also shows .txt files (notepad or wordpad files so you can read books) which once again runs better in Sakura.
Sakura displays roms in alphabetical order, M3Real displays in the date added format which is more disorderly and shows the 5 most recent used roms and can be set to display 5 permanent links to roms which you use most. ( in order to do that though you need to go to D:\System\launch or a similar directory and replace the roms there)

Some of the films I am trying to convert to .dpg crash at the terminate bit, most frustrating as you have sat through the longest bit. Do you think this is a problem with moonshell, the film or my computer.

Well, Its a problem with the converter, It crashes with (in my own experience) long films and certain formats, Try splitting the film or converting it to a different format first.

unacquain, thanks for the infoz on Sakura.
Would Sakura be able to read the save game files that have been created by the default loader?

I think M3Real loader everything before 3.7d was a .0, .1 or a .2 file, Sakura won't read those.
Everything after 3.7d is a .sav file and Sakura reads .sav files.
Sakuras saves are .sav.
If you have save files that are .dat,.0,.1,.2 etc. just rename it to 'Same name as rom'.sav.
If you cannot see the .dat or .o at the end of a save file go into control panel, folder options, Hide extensions for known file types, disable then all of your files will change to .whatever.
I like to consider myself a genious with the M3Real but I do have a stupidly large ego.

how to change the lang to eng?? mine was in asian lang.
i try to download the eng lang frm m3 site but the zip file was corrupted cannot extracted...

Next time try and type 'Hi, How can I change the language to english? I went to the M3Real site and downloaded the firmware but the language is in asian and I can't find a way to change it. I downloaded the english version from the M3Real site but it was a corrupted file when I ran the extractor'
Then I might say 'Go to www.linfoxdomain.com because he has the latest version of M3Real firmware in all languages, He also includes a backcatalogue of all the previous firmwares, However I will tell you like I tell everybody here, Atleast try M3Sakura instead of the 'official' firmware.
Based on your original message, I am inclined not to help.

It's alright, I understand that some people don't speak english as their primary language, Or maybe you are used to less formal places like facebook, Anyway, I hope you find what you need from that site and it's nice to get a thankyou.

HI,
here i am again.. =) sorry!! i just can't seen to be able to get the M3 real running in English language. I have downloaded M3G6_DS_Real_v4.0_E32_EuropeUSAMulti,G6DS-V2.3 are these the file i nd to get the system running in english??
I format my TF card and copy both file that i had downloaded into my sd card but was met with no system file found! Put system file in.. with top showing language : Chinese..
What the system file that im missing?? If i use back the old loader then add in the 2 new system file, i was able to boot up the M3 but it still in Chinese.. Help is appreciated!!

You only need M3G6_DS_Real_v4.0_E32_EuropeUSAMulti.zip, unzip and copy SYSTEM to the root.
Are you 100% sure you didn't buy an asian M3Real because the system files aren't intercompatable.
If so try Sakura unofficial translation it MIGHT work with an asian card and is better anywa

Erm... so there diff region for M3Real? look like i must have gotten the asian version. Thankz will heed your advice to use the Sakura unofficial translation.

To use soft reset on SaKura, on the game list (not in the initial favourites menu) you can start the game by double clicking with the stylus or sliding the game name to the right. To change options slide the game name to the left!
The soft reset is in the options, as is the option for download play and cheats, to save your selection and start the game press the disc picture, to exit without saving press the X. This option is now set for all future times you use the game.

Thanks to kittymat, Most people come for the questions and leave when they get an answer, What kittymat said was spot on but it might also be worth mentioning that in the quick launch panel (the five most recent games played) To activate the Options menu you must hold the stylus on the games until the animation(segmented circle by default) fully plays.

It's me the retard again. FOR some strange reason there is a program on here that wipes my sd card clean....why is that and also I can't seem to get the movies and music to play through sakura only through moonshell on sakura. Could some one please tell me how to launch media through sakura instead?

Sakura should play DPG converted using Moonshell 171.Another converter ( the one I use and KNOW it works on sakura) is one called SUPER.

hi there,
I hope someone can help me with a M3 issue we are having,
the card seems to work fine with all programs on my girlfriends older Black DS lite (s/n uef 11076625)
, but freeze and crash on my newer silver DS lite (s/n uef 16332045)
,any ideas as to what this could be?.

This is an unknown issue (to me).
M3Real works on my GuitarheroNDSLite and thats pretty new...
Format the card to FAT32 and try again.
Please define 'programs' and when it crashes.

Thanks for the response.
sorry about lack of clarity.
I can run both homebrew(nitrotracker) and downloaded roms on the older DS with no problem.Games save fine and video and mp3s play properly
On the newer DS all homebrew and naughty roms lock up after a short amount of gameplay,generally giving a message of 'no ds card inserted' or sometimes freezing the view.
I am not enabling the soft reset option or any cheat options.
The problem is that I want to buy a card for my DS(the newer one) and dont want to get another M3 real if it doesnt work on my machine for some reason.
Could it be that our 2 ds lites are in some way physically different resulting in the card working in one not the other due to a connectivity issue?.
I hope this explains my situation better.

It doesn't sound like a compatablity issue, It sounds more like a hardware issue on the DS, Does it run retail DS games fine because it sounds like the DS has a problem .
Nobody else has reported this issue and this seems pretty seperate from the M3Real.

I have search high and low for someone with the same problem before posting here.
The ds in question plays legitimate Carts with no problem in both slots.
it also runs 'download play' games correctly then used with the older ds with the m3 card as the source of the download.Eg she can send me backgammon from 42 all time classics and it syncs fine with my (faulty?) DS.
It certainly is a mystery,I will continue to test it and let you know what happens.

It almost sounds like the cartridge isn't making a good connection with the DS. You might try sticking a small piece of cardboard behind the M3 when you insert it into the DS (such as cutting a small piece of cardboard from a cereal box). The contact pins on your DS may not stick out as far as the older DS, thus the issue you're having. The piece of cardboard will make for a tighter fit and possibly eliminate your problem.
