i do not know how to copy GT4... I own it, and someday may have to copy it myself for networking...
however, there are specific instructions for copying it included in this thread, in an earlier page.
go to page one, and read up at the top. i cannot vouch for the instructions... you try and tell me how it goes.
good luck!

I am referring to the instructions posted here!!!
Like I said it seems to work (after swapmagic) but gets stuck on the 3rd screen which is with a disk bleeping on the screen. It wont go to to the next....After swapping the disk, I see the GT4 disclaimer, then the Sony GT4 screen then the flashing loading disk with sound. then stuck!!!!

I think we may need a list of DVD9 games that work and don't work in full with GNIES Expert.
One game to add to the list of DOESN'T work in full is God of War. This game freezes at the point where the table of contents shifts from what would be layer 1 to layer 2 when it's rebuilt with gnies expert.
I didn't think Gran Turismo worked completely with gnies expert either, sounds like the jury is still out. 50 Cent sounds like it may work completely thru the game though. Would be an interesting list.

for those using my ExPERT_v105(new ver 106 fix a few bugs rls soon) tool,if the game is DVD9, the plugin layer1 only for you to extract the file(s)(button 1 and 2 only),dont use for rebuild the iso,and you have to use cdvdgen to export the .iml and ims file(after reduce the size to fit dvd5),use iml2iso to generate the .iso file.
God of war have layer file check on GODOFWAR.TOC
always check my home site for the expert tool update

I tried a streight copy of my The Godfather, and it didnt load. Then I tried the rebuilding method on the other page with genie. It loads but laggs a lot then when u want to play in the game after the menus its just constantly loading. I have burned plenty of ps2 games for a while and this is the first I am stuck on. Anything will be a great help.
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

If I wanted to test this method out for reducing the size of a DVD5 to a smaller DVD5 just to see if it would work with a DVD9 to DVD5, should it theoretically work? The reason I ask is because I dont have a DVD9 game to backup but when I try to go through the process with a game that was already DVD5 (4.3 GB) it reduces to 2.2 GB but it wont play after I burn it. Should it work or not? Thanks.

some one please point me to a thread or instructions on how to re-combine seperated files. I'm tired of trying to download tools to find out they are in 15-30 pieces.

Your game disc is surely damanged. I've already archived Gt4, and DVD Decrypter had no issues. I'd obtain another copy of the game, or replace your copy from the retailer.

Hi There! I did 24 The Game works great. I didn't have to rebuild it I just used DVD Decrypter to read and write it. there is no need to rebuild the game unless it is bigger then 4.7GB's. Well hope this helps. Later Bra.....

/me kicks Jigz88 upside his head. You gotta be kidding right? This thread has pages and pages on burning gt4. Seriously read the title of this thread "Easy Methods to rebuild PS2 games, including GRAN TURISMO 4...". As far as not being familiar with rebuilding...there's no better time to learn. Gt4 is a particularly difficult game to backup, so good luck. If you can read ,have the patience, and want the game bad enough you will figure it out.

I'm sure i had that problem too.
Can you not press X before the copyright screen shows? or during it? so that it skips it?
Im sure my backup did something similar, i will check it out later.
