I take it now that the usb connector shows up in the devive manager, click on it and select update drivers and point it to the driver pack thats in the bundle. I think this will solve your problem.

Yes update the nintendo usb.... Download this video and it should help you out with a step by step and if this don't work maybe you have a bad connector

don't see why not. If you have a router that would work to.

Then give your other wifi a try should work fine as this hack is to break the nintendo lock to open it up to be used by other electronics

You should be able to use it as is but I'm not really sure. I know that the connection to nintendo is made within the games and not the connector so it should work as it would be an open wifi. Just remember to leave the wifi open and the setup here should work there. Just go into the wifi settings of your connector and it should be fairly simple....go back to the first page of this thread and you can see it there. Also here's the setup I'm using.
Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting
Click on Config on the left side.
Basic Tab:
Network Type:Infrastructure
Network Name:default
Channel : 1
Encryption Tab:
Network Authentication: Open
Data Encrption: Disabled
Soft AP Tab:
Check The Soft AP Mode
Check To Enable The ICS
Access Control Tab:
Access Control Policy: Accept
Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of course you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network.
Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to.
RTS Threshold: 2347
Fragmentation Threshold: 2347
Preamble Mode: Long
Frame Bursting: Disabled
54g Mode: 802.11b only
54g Protection: Auto
Use Short Slot Time: Disabled
Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab.
Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!!
Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out.
Good luck, WD.

Go to the Advanced tab, and click "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection"
This is where the instructions get confusing. What if the Allow other users option isn't there? All I have is an option that leads to the Windows Firewall settings.

You'll have to use the belkin usb adapter own software as this hack is only for the nintendo as its a asus usb anyways.

takumisan -
good luck, I have Vista HP and it just doesn't work, has something to do with the drivers I believe. Tried acouple times.
Maybe something with Compatiblilty or run as Admin...if you were able to actually install the drivers.
If you manage to get it working, post the work around would you?
What can I say? Glutton for punishment! Tho Vista is pretty.

yeah drivers worked just uninstalled the nintendo with your uninstaller then plug the connector in your pc then it will search for driver but cant find any and ask for the cd you can also locate the drivers yourself do that and go to the map with the modified driver that came with the pack on the first page wil take a while but it wil instal it but the you have to open the asus thingy but i get this error
The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005). Click OK to terminate

Hmmm, I wasn't able to install drivers, it would hang up. Then if I removed adapter it would finish and tell me successful. I didn't have the problem with ASUS software on mine. Thats weird, both Vista and two different problems.

I'm sure that the drivers here will not work with vista go check asus for an update for vista you will find a exact looking connector there but with asus on it. Good Luck, I'm sure this is just 1 of the problems with Vista. I'll stick it out with xp untill microsoft gets it right!

I am having the same problem some of the others with XP x64 had, stuck on step 2.
1. Checked Add/Remove Programs, Nintendo's software isn't there.
2. Did a system-wide search for "Nintendo" and for "rt2500usb" - no files found except a couple videos with Nintendo in the title.
3. Go to device manager, plug in the USB adapter - it appears under "Other Drivers" not under "Network Adapters".
4. Try to install from a specific location, select the "Drivers" folder from the zip file, get this error:
The hardware was not installed because the wizard could not find the necessary software.
If a driver was provided, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems. If you do not have an appropriate driver, contact the device manufacturer.
5. Thought I'd try the other workaround mentioned, so I went to Add Hardware.
6. Selected "Yes, I have already connected the hardware" > "Add a new hardware device" > "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list" > "Network adapters"
7. The list only shows three manufacturers - Eicon, Microsoft, and Realtek. Buffalo is not listed.
Any ideas as to what else I can try? I think the real problem is that the device manager is picking it up as "Other" instead of "Network Adapter" . . . but I have no idea how to change that. :\ Thanks in advance for any help.

Before pluging in the connector install all the software as mentioned then insert the usb and this should work

Ok. I removed the connector and tried installing the ASUS software (I assume that's what you were referring to), and it installed OK, but it won't run the control panel as it can't connect to the wireless lan card. I assume this is since I still haven't got the driver working and no green light on the usb connector. Copied over the asus exes anyway, and tried to install the driver again - same error message.
Or did I misunderstand which software you were referring to?
