well...i got it to work.
i plugged the USB dongle into my other PC which has Vista on it.
then loaded the modded drivers.
i tried loading the ASUS software, but it wouldnt start.
i kept getting and error, trying to run it.
i scrapped the ASUS software all together.
next i bridged the the two connections.
then i setup ad hoc mode network connection using the wizard.
went to the laptop and connected...internet and all.
i tried using ICS and all that crap, but it didnt work.
a simple bridge was the way to go.
i am having one small issue yet...
when i setup ad-hoc mode using WEP and a key.
the laptop is able to connect to it, but fails to connect to the internet. i get some message about the wep key possibly being wrong.
i know i used the same key to connect as i did setting up the connection.
works great if i eave it as an unsecure connection.
i live in the boonies, so im not overly concerned, but i really
would like to secure it one way or another...any ideas?

If I made my USB connector a SoftAP would my Xbox 360 be able to connect to it if I bought the wireless adapter for the 360? Or would I have to buy a wireless router and use that instead?

Instead of inputing the info just use the auto setting and see if that works

Go into your Windows firewall settings and under exceptions make sure your Asus Wlan Control Center is checked, turn your firewall back on and you should be fine.
WD.

it works auto perfectly but for homebrews like Beup, you need to input it manually so thats my problem.
