Don?t know if this helps, but I too was having trouble, and after following the video from Kcajblue (pg. 7) I was still unable to connect, until I turned off my firewall from McAfee. Everything is working perfectly; however, when I turn on my firewall I get disconnected. So I am going to reinstall the software, while my firewall is off, and hopefully this will allow me to connect while having my firewall on.

P.S. Sorry for my English

Make sure in your firewall settings that you,ve enabled the exception for the wifi connector

Try this set up

Data Encrption: Disabled

Soft AP Tab:

Check The Soft AP Mode

Check To Enable The ICS

Access Control Tab:

Access Control Policy: Accept

Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of course you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network.

Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to.

RTS Threshold: 2347

Fragmentation Threshold: 2347

Preamble Mode: Long

Frame Bursting: Disabled

54g Mode: 802.11b only

54g Protection: Auto

Use Short Slot Time: Disabled

Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab.

Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!!

Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out.

I'm not familier with that software. But you say it has a mac address so it must be able to connect with something. So I would have to guess yes it will work as this hack will let anything connect to the wifi connector not just the nintendo as their software does with drm. So if you know that the emulator lets you connect to the internet, computer, etc. Then go for it but remember that a cheap router is almost the same price and will work faster, from a further distance and easier. I hope I anwsered your ?.

Hello! I have a question...
You know how this can also be used in station mode? welli was wondering if there was a way to enter a WPA code somehow? (the only encryption available is wep) Maybe through some driver update?

Well I've just about narrowed down the problem. I have Verizon Security Suite, and when I temporarily disabled its firewall, I was able to connect. But of course, I would rather keep the firewall on, so does anyone know the exact programs I should allow?

This is ticking me off to no end... I've tried setting things the way Nintendo's WiFi software wants and that gives the insert USB connector error at the end of the installation. I've tried using the Soft AP software listed HERE and I get address violations from the Wireless.exe when trying to change to AP mode. Any ideas as to WHY it's doing this?

(By the way I even had the router's internal IP set to 192.168.2.1 like Nintendo.com recommends and still all this BS...)

Remove all nintendo software and forget what nintendo says as it doesn't work here. Then go back and read page 1 and follow the steps there and after all that if you have any ?'s then post them as its hard for me to help when you haven't followed the few steps

Unless someone is sitting in your living room I wouldn't worry about security as the range is only about 25 feet. I would just unplug it when not in use if your worried or just use the access control in the asus panel.

I am using a SMCWPCI-G 54Mbit Wireless PCI for a wireless network from my basic PC connected to Internet to a notebook.

I am using Ad Hoc for the connection, and everything works fine. Yet, as far as I know it is impossible to connect DS or PSP to internet using Ad Hoc, am I right?

Anyway, every time I try to connect DS to internet it tells me "error 51300", e.g wrong wep. BUT, this error appears even if I am trying to connect to a network disabling wep at all...

Second thing is, there is a possibility to setup my PCI card for infrastructure, yet once it is done - nothing is possible to connect to internet, not even a notebook (which is working fine at Ad Hoc).

So I am a bit lost, not to mention that several years ago I connected DS to a notebook with no particular problems. I guess it was a Ad Hoc connection, but I am not sure.

Summing up, anyone tried to connect DS using such card as I have? If it is so, how did you do it???

First off you are right you must set up network as a infrastructure, then make the network open. You can run a wep key if you would like just make sure that the devices connecting have been allowed access. The psp and the ds should find the network all by their selfs. If running access control make sure to have copied the mac address of your devices into the control center.
Remember you don't want to connect to your notebook but the router which is supplying the internet.

Thanks for your comments!
But point is - I don't have a "typical" router as we know it, it is simple PCI card with option to set up connection as "infrastructure". Yet, as I mentioned above, when I am trying to make it "infrastructure" nothing is possible to connect to my main computer...
That is why I got a stupid idea - that it is simply impossible to configure internal PCI WiFi card to work as a router (so all other devices connect to the main PC with internet).
So let me know if this is not "that stupid" and it is actually possible to use PCI card inside of the main PC as a router?
