Originally posted by bboy1: ok a few months back (pg 32) I had this working. Since then I've had to reformat my comp and when I tried to do the same thing and reinstall all this, I can't get it to work simply because as soon as I share my internet connection as it says to do in one of the steps, my internet stops working....no pages load or anything. And so when I try and connect with my DS it says like 'connected to access point but not server...check to make sure you're connected to the internet". If I untick the internet sharing, my net starts working again. So if I can get past this I think I'll be able to get it all working again.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something to do with priority or something?
Anyone know the answer to my question a few pages back...

Ok thank you NT. Also the computer I'm using right now is one of 3 in the house. And the computer connects to a router with a Wireless G USB Network Adapter.
My bro wont let me connect to the router, cause he says it will lag the comps. Do you think I can have the WIFI Buffalo SoftAP and the USB Wireless G Network Adapter running at the same time?
Im a nub dont laugh LOl.

Yeah argh the fact that configuring the nintendo wifi adapter to work with other consoles is really frustrating when it doesn't work.
There's also this one by Datel:
http://au.gear.ign.com/articles/704/704528p1.html
Can you only buy that thing online?
yes, on ebay, amazon and so on and on and on

What do u mean by "Install"? do u mean to copy them to "system32\drivers" ?
and after that u said "You will get a dialog asking if you want to use the Windows configuration utility or the ASUS one, select the option that uses ASUS one and disables the Windows one. Then there will be a wizard. Click Cancel to close the wizard." for me no Wizard popped up instead it said "There is no Wireless LAN Card Installed, so the utility will quit.". help me plz?

I've tried setting things the way Nintendo's WiFi software wants and that gives the insert USB connector error at the end of the installation. I've tried using the Soft AP software listed HERE and I get address violations from the Wireless.exe when trying to change to AP mode. Any ideas as to WHY it's doing this?
(By the way I even had the router's internal IP set to 192.168.2.1 like Nintendo.com recommends and still all this BS...)
Remove all nintendo software and forget what nintendo says as it doesn't work here. Then go back and read page 1 and follow the steps there and after all that if you have any ?'s then post them as its hard for me to help when you haven't followed the few steps
Okay, guess I didn't make it clear enough: I have done as listed STEP-BY-STEP here.
First off, I could never get the official USB software working because it kept asking to insert the USB connector during the ICS phase despite it was already in. So naturally it would fail.
Secondly, I uninstalled the official software AND drivers (Software never really existed on the PC anyway, it failed before setting up the Registration software for the connector.) before installing the ASUS WLAN utility software.
Now here's the problem: After following it step-by-step in the Read-me (I did this multiple times mind you.) I repeatedly recieved an error stating an address violation in the wireless.exe whenever I switched to the Soft AP tab under the Wireless Settings in the Control Panel. In addition to this, the Wireless Connection did NOT appear under the Network Connections. There was also NO ICS option appearing under the Advanced Tab when viewing my Local Area Connection.
Anyway, after a full reinstall of Windows XP and retrying the software it was successful. However I am now back to square one. The same address violation pops up once more despite I had the software functioning properly and the Wireless Connection that now DID appear under the Network Connections has magically disappeared. And so has the ICS option that had been there under the Advanced Tab in my Local Area Connection.
I have NO idea when it disappeared again but I'm getting sick of these houdini acts XP likes to play with me. I'm running Windows XP Professional SP3, currently in the process of downgrading back to SP2. In any rate, it's wierd this is happening now as things were working perfectly fine still even after SP3 was installed. I'm hoping this'll fix it but if not...
EDIT: And if this isn't even stranger, the adapter (USB Connector.) shows up under the Networking tab in the Windows Task Manager. It even states it's "Operational" yet I can't use it no matter what.

I did exactly as the tutorial said (from this site and, I do beleive the original) and it doesn't work. My DS can't find the network, even though the network says that its connected. When ever I tried the whole "set to what ever b", it would switch back to the original. I followed the entire tutorial STEP BY STEP and still doesn't work. whats the deal?

Unless I'm wrong I'm pretty sure this software is only supported by Windows XP. Only thing you're gonna get working with Vista is the official Nintendo software unless someone makes updated drivers and modified software for use under Vista.

hey thanks for the wireless any application software hack. took a while to get the ip for ds to work but its working perfect now. this is what i found worked, it may or may not for you.
if it comes up its connecting to device but not server, clear the settings you put in, untick hide SSID on the ASUS WLAN settings and click apply, search for access point, enter WEP key, then test connection, if it fails, enter the ip address like normal and try again.
to make it work with the wii this is what i did, untick hide SSID (not sure if it will make a difference but i did it any way) enter SSID and WEP into wii, now leave ip, and DNS settings to auto. and test connection. it worked for me
does anyone know how to make it work with ipod touch? im probably getting one next week and want to know if there is anything special you need to do for it, to make it connect, if not ill play around with it and post if it works or not
