Unplug the EV for a few seconds, then plug it back in. Immediately go to time settings, set time using GMT. When time is correct turn GMT off and press blue button to save and exit. If you are quick enough this will also work.

A bit of a novice here trying to set up EV 2008. Like above my EPG is 2 hrs ahead. Stupid question - Where do I find autoscan. Is it Update Channels in User installation??
Hi eamonnbr, Autoscan is where you figured it was, password 0000, carry out the setup above and it should work fine. I had to do again yesterday after i unplugged the EV as it went back to old time settings.

This works but if i plug out the eurovox again ( which i do every night) the GMT turns its self back on and back to same problem again?

it should sort itself out round the end of March :)
Seriously though i don't think you can save it permanently short of not unplugging the unit which is what i do, maybe the powers that be can put in a s/w patch for this on the next s/w download.

Hi,
I've just got my hands on a Star View box, which I see is automatically configured for NTL/Chorus etc. The issue is that I'm using a local cable provider called Cable*Watch, but I'm hoping to be able to manually configure the box to pick up channels. The problem is I need the Symbol Rate for this provider to do this? Would anybody have this or know where I might be able to find it out?
Cheers.

If you are talking about the narration just press the red button and choose the alternate audio stream.

I have the box about a month and it worked fine for about 3 weeks (on N*L Dublin) but in the last week the picture has started to distort and then eventually disappear with a "no signal" message for about 5 minutes before reappearing and working as normal again. It has progressively gotten worse to the point where it goes every 30mins or so.
Any suggestions on how to fix this - is it hardware, software, connection, etc?
Appreciate any help.
What firmware is on the box? Press, menu, config and system info to find out.
The software version is 1.0 STC4 Sep06 2007.
click my link below and the lastest software is there
Thanks oggnogg I'll try that.

Hi guys.
Glad i found this place :)
Hi,
Just got the Euro-vox 2008 today and hooked it up. I get the GUI up and it's nice.. But i cant get any stations.
all it says it " channel not currently available" when i push the buttons to select a different channel nothing happes. I look at the front of the machine of the number just stay at 0000
--
just to add. when i try to search for stations it comes up " No transponder to scan" i have the cable lead plugged into the back.. and it is a working lead as when i plug it directly into the TV i get my normal stations.
I'm in the Dublin Area on N*L,
This model came pre-flashed so it doesnt need modding. Here are the settings of the unit.
System Info :
Model DV8-XC BOXV TDA
S/W VER 1.0 STC4 OCT 29-2007
H/W VER 2.0T K5
Bootstrep v001
S/W Build kuro
does anyone have any ideas?
thanks.

Have you got it plugged into the cable in socket as opposed to the ant in socket?
