Well you're not getting anywhere if you can't back yourself up. Both the Wii controller and the DS are very different than what the traditional trend would've yielded.

True... but as a Sony fanny its my duty to praise Playstation and diss others. But still i think nintendo isnt that innovative at all since whatever they make will eventually get "borrowed". At least Sony is smart enough to copyright their blueray.
Now DS bein Innovative would be correct IF it had graphics that looks as good as the PSP. Yea i know alot of ppl say that gameplay and not graphics is the most important and that is very much true cuz i still play Nes and Snes all the time on my PSP. But the greater the graphics, the more realistic the game play will be and that is a great experience all in its own. I played fight night round 3 on my PS2 and it was hella fun but when i went to play the demo at Game Crazy on the 360, it made it that much better cuz the graphics was realistic as hell. It was more fun for me than the PS2 version. That is basiclly the reason why I like the PSP so much. Its like playing ur PS2+ most of Nintendos console anywhere u want. Good graphics on a handheld like no other.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

how is matching graphical hardware innovative? There is no set-in stone as to what defines innovative or not, but certainly an upgrade in graphics is anything BUT innovative. It's what happens every time a next gen console is released, and Indeed, the DS is graphically superior to the GBA, but that's not innovation. That's improving an already existing component of the system.
Furthermore, as a sony lover, you of all people should realize the unimportance of graphics in comparison to a solid game. I realize that the PSP and the PS3 have excited you to be able to tout graphical superiority over counterparts (mostly DS, as the 360 is expected to hold it's own), but ultimately it doesn't matter so much. It isn't vital to the success of the machine. PS2 proved this, and the DS is proving it. Can the Wii prove it? We'll see.
Do I wish the DS had better graphics? Absolutely. But that would only be a plus, because the games are fun enough just the way they are.

Would that not make them the innovative one while all the other companies are the least innovative to not create their own new equipment and hardware?
Quote: At least Sony is smart enough to copyright their blueray
Sure you could copyright it but that doesn't mean that other companies can use the same idea and slightly moddify or change something. Would that not make it different than the copyrighted version?

Good! Begone! But before you leave... I have something funny to bash about.
"Yea i know alot of ppl say that gameplay and not graphics is the most important and that is very much true cuz i still play Nes and Snes all the time on my PSP" --- You said that right?
Think about it. A Sony-fanboy... playing Nintendo games on his Sony system... hmmm... Seems like someone wasnt too happy with their birthday present. Awww.. did you want a DS for your b-day? If you save enough money from mowing lawns, you can have one too! Just be sure not to spend it foolishly on a PS3!
I was born with Nintendo, Its what I've stuck with, and I stay happy and entertained.

Had to drag me back in didnt u.
Im a Sony fan but Im a Nintendo fan too. Matter of fact I think Yoshi's Island 2 is the greatest game ever made.
But the whole point of my argument is that Nintendo is not innovative... not Nintendo sucks. U tellin me that Innovation is putting a touch screen on a handheld but putting current gen graphics+ movies and music and internet on a handheld is not???
Im not gonna waste my deniro on a DS especially when PS3 is comin. Woooo
PSP...hells yea
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Ah kahn you shouldn't let those fanboys get to you...
;-)
Quote: but putting current gen graphics
Like I said earlier, this isn't innovation, this is improvement. Both are good, make no mistake, but they are very different.
Quote: + movies and music and internet on a handheld is not???
Current gen systems can play movies and music. In essence, sony made a home console into a handheld. The DS was wi-fi ready, and the Opera browser will be able to be used on the DS. So I don't think internet counts.
Another thing is that while the PSP is somewhat in "competition" with the DS, it is also in "competition" with ipod video and such.

CrisKahn2 have you even seen, metroid prime, zelda and mario galaxy on the wii b/c they all to me personally look next gen, not just in graphics but the wii controller is going to be so much damm fun it just not funny, i mean when they showed metroid prime 3 not only did it look great but basically you are looking in on a first person perspective and basically when you hold you arm out that is the gun thern when tou move your arm around your moving your gun then the other thing in your left hand will be for walkiing and when you want to shoot press a button with your them, but you have to see this to understand why i am so excited about the wii. oh and heavenly sword looks great, but not as good as gears of war, bioshock and mass effect.

i will only say this once, your gaming experience wouldnt be anywhere neer as exciting as it is right now without nintendo.
before i have to explain just do a quick google search of what nintendo has brought into your gaming world. in 10 years time what nintendo is doing now will be the standard in consoles / controllers / handhelds, just in different ways. and by then nintendos crack smoking team will be inventing even crazyer ways to enjoy video games, thats just how this insane gaming world works.
nintendo is innovative, just as much as microsoft and sony are for what they are doing right now.
the definition of innovation is:
Creating value out of new ideas, new products, new services or new ways of doing things.
so in all respects of the word- sony, microsoft, and nintento are all being innovative with their next-gen consoles. nintendo just chooses to use the word more often (and for good reason).
ANNNyways, the wii is gonna kick ASSSSS. i can hardly wait to play some tennis on there... or any of the exclusive titles (wooo) especially online, thats gonna be sooo fun. and im not even a nintendo fanboy, im an xbox fanbox (i.e. i dont like the 360 as much as i like the origional). god, just the idea of a fps online with the wii makes me horny. maybe i should see a doctor about that.

in your post you said wii will be online, do you know this for a fact, i mean did nintendo announce it, b/c if they did that would be a great asset for the console and really would let it compete side by side the other consoles. also like you i too loved my xbox but i have just found my 360 to be way too much fuh, the only probelmis finding a killer game at the momment, aprt from the few, that why i am hopefull after watching e3 about the games coming out for the 360 in the future, but i am also having fun with games like kameo, which has amazing graphics and awesome gamplay.

and on an interview between super smash bro. creator and nintendo;
Nintendo: Will the game take advantage of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, or can you explain if the game will be online?
Masahiro Sakurai: My plan is to include Wi-Fi Connection compatibility and online functionality. Actually one of the primary reasons the Super Smash Bros. game was created was that Nintendo staff both in the United States and in America [we assume he meant the US and Japan - Ed] said that when taking the home console online, the best title to do so would be Super Smash Bros. But, at the same time, I think it may be a lot of work for us to try to come up with a system that will allow four players to play simultaneously and try to find out who's number one. We're mainly focusing more along the lines of bringing lots of people in together to play simultaneously in perhaps some new and different ways.
...this kinda suggests that nintendo will have online gameplay capabilities.

The new Zelda looks awsome. Using the Wii remote as a bow arrow should be interesting.

"It's a two-way street over here, not a kinky bondage club where a leather-clad Sony rep with a whip asks us to lick her controller."
"Sony and Microsoft are taking turns talking about how their system is the better one to be paired with the Wii. Both claim that the Wii will be the best second console... but if, by definition, most people who buy either the PS3 or XBox also buy a Wii, then clearly the Wii will outsell both of them by a considerable margin. So who is the second console, again?"
what a great read haha
thanks for the adress oofrome!! :)

revomote is just a gimmick ,guitar hero p0wns everything that can be made for revomote.
innovation = overrated.

I'm not sure but it sounds like if a game really sucked, you'd still get it if it had good graphics.

Guitar hero was a fantastic game, but last time I checked, it wasn't the graphics that made the game so awesome. It was probably gameplay combined with that "gimmicky" guitar controller.

I wouldn't know. I've never played the Wii, and neither have you, so you have no grounds for such a claim.

I think I might have come off wrong on that last post. I meant that it seems like mudearies thinks nothing of Nintendo's is innovative. So I'll ask a simple question to him and mean it in a good old fashioned friendly, non-i don't agree with you type of way.
What do you think would go under the category of Innovation?
