Did everything with the guide.
When I play DVD with "part 1" screen with "PlayStation 2" pops out and then I am redirect to a "Browser" with Memory Cards.
I don't know whats wrong. I used DVD +R TDK

Does it show your disc in the browser..
How are you booting backups. Do you have a modchip or a soft mod.

I bought this PS2 long ago with a chip but idk what type.
1st disc loads till a black screen with big white "PlayStation 2" sign in the center (like with all PS2 games). After it disappear I'm redirected to a Browser where I can see ONLY inserted Memory Cards.
There's not any disc or any "loading disc"
Same thing happenes with 2nd DVD
I did everything like in the instructions.
I don't know but should I use ToxicDL or something? If yes then on original DVD9 .iso or on those two ned .iso's?
Just in case I also bought some DVD-R Verbatim's

Are you getting a 'Disc read error' because your disc should show up in browser
Does the Original disc play fine?
For DVD +R you need to set BOOKTYPE to 'DVD-ROM' in your burning program, then burn at 4x or 8x speed.
If that doesn't work, then try the -r media. No special settings for those discs.
You only need the Toxic DL patcher if you burned the DVD9 backup.

Thats the problem. My PS2 doesn't read DVD9. This is why I want to make it n 2x DVD5
I have PS2 model SCPH-30004R
If My original game would work I wouldn't make 2x DVD5 first place.
When I lunch gow2rip.bat i have this:
I chose "y"
Same thing with DVD 2 after closing application before new window appears

Unfortunatly i can't get those linked files like "GOW2RIP.rar and other attached files because I'm not registered there. I was trying to register but somehow I can't... I keep getting message that my e-mail was banned no matter what I write -__-'

I found GOW2RIP-ITA but theres no gow2-1532files-check.SFV file. Alco found -FRA version and it's not there

Just for the heck of it, after i completed the rip, I then deleted both ISO images, ran the .bat tool again, and then I got the same error as you.
So if that happens, just start over all fresh again with all new files.

So far I was unable to find that ips.exe
....
More problems...
hen I use PSS Downsampling Tool I start getting errors like this one:
When it get's to PART2
I had that with 1.2 version so I decided to try it from the bebining (so from making .iso of original DVD) and use 1.01 like in the guide.
Like I sed before I did everithing like in the guide :S

Thx for the links I will try with them meantime this is what I did:
1. I placed my original God of War II DVD to a DVD-ROM.
2. I used DVD Decrypter to make an .iso file on D:\
3. I used Apache2 and opened my .iso (D:\GODOFWAR2) and I extracted all the files including 2nd layer PART2.PAK to D:\GOW2
4. I copied "join-part1-part2-file.bat" from GOW2RIP to my D:\GOW2 and dubleklick on it to make NEW-PART1.PAK
5. After that I run Xpert v2.0 (1st I placed PS2_GOW2_pak_toc.epi plugin into Xpert-Plugins)
6. I selected PS2 God Of War 2 *.PAK |*.TOC, sound option dropdown list on @No Sound Selected, clicked the B button and selected NEW-PART1.PAK then T button and selected GODOFWAR.TOC
7. Klicked " Extract LBA" then "Extract File"
8. After it finished Icopy all the files from my GOW2RIP\DYMMY folder and paste then to @NEW-PART1.PAK folrer replacing the files
9. I lunch PSS Downsampling Tool v1.01 (earlier tryed all this with 1.2) selected all 43 PSS files and dropped them to a tool window. Downsample 50% and klicked "GO!"
This is where I stop cause of those PART2 errors... (PSS doesnt read even 1)
oh yeah i droppled that .ddl to a system32 folder ofcaurse
But idk what program should I chose to run gow2-1532files-check.SFV. I'm gessing filecheckmd5?
I'm not sure what I sopose to do with Console Media Patcher.exe since it doesn't work. I have an error that I don't have an acces to the file. Also had to turn of antyvis cause it keep seeing it as trojan
ok got the "Easy SFV Creator" so I can check my files after using PSSdown but... Like i sed before I keep getting error message ad all the PSS files are over 600KB insted of 1,33GB

Yes most Antivirus will detect Console Media Patcher.exe as that. You have to allow it in your Antivirus program or disable it.

On what I sopose to use that Console Media Patcher.exe and how? cause in the guide it's only about that I need it but theres nothing about when and on what.
I keep getting those errors on all PSS files of PART2. Its weard cause I used "NEW-PART1.PAK" and "GODOFWAR.TOC" in Xpert from my D:\GOW2 folder. How come I have those errors. You can see it on the screen. Some "illegal bit stream"

Ok maybe you need the ACTIVESKIN.OCX also in your system32 folder.
You don't need the Console Media Patcher as you used the IPS files to patch the 2 files.
The first ripkit I gave you does work, that error is not there if you follow the steps correctly.

I have that file in my system32 folder.
What might be the reason of that error with PART2 PSS's? "Illegal bit stream found in file." I have this error on all PSS Downsampling tools I have (v1.01 and v1.2). On the screen you can see that I did everything with the guide.
In the firs one I also did everything with te "readme" file so:
1.Extract from an ISO image all the files from both layers with Apache 2 or 3 into the same folder as the ripkit (you can delete the ISO after this)
2.Run gow2rip.bat
3.At the beginning IML2ISO will pop up, select disc1.iml and click start. When it is finished close IML2ISO.
4.At the end IML2ISO will pop up again, select disc2.iml and click start.
5.Burn the ISO's at 4X with DVD Decrypter.
I will try again maby I mest up smth that I didn't notice. Maby it will work now.
Well I wont give up till I get a working backup DVD with my GOW2 ;)

Thats the spirit...
I know I restarted the first tutorial right from scratch and it worked perfectly.
But first time I goofed up on purpose, then tried it again and got the same error message you did.
So deleted all those and started over. It then worked.
As for the errors in PSS down, you could first install 'PSSPlex Setup' and see if that doesn't fix the error.

Ok I will try that. I used apache on my GOW2.iso again and I extracted all the files to my GOW2 folder with all files from GOW2_DVD9_TO_2DVD5 folder.
This is what the cmd window with the message:
after chosing "y"
Patching ... successful.
D:\GOW2>gdvd4-iml2iso

Well I hoped it worked for you..
And my question before about 'Does your PS2 play the ORiginal'
and you said no.
Well I really meant does it play any Original PS2 games with no issues, just checking that your laser is in good condition.
So seeing it won't play the DVD9 Original, already says that it is starting to weaken.
Another thing I just realized is that your PS2 is PAL, so not sure if the PAL ripping is the same or not.
It very well maybe the same.

Yes other original games works.
My GOW II is PAL
I just used GOW2_DVD9_TO_2DVD5 with all stems like in readme. When you mentioned I realised that at the begining it says:
God of War II NTSC-U DVD9 -> 2DVD5 ripkit V2
I played that disc 1 and its still the same problem so:
Game loads and "PlayStation 2" screen pops out then it disappears and I'm on screen in the Browser with wisible memory cards but not the disc (not even "reading" message)
I hope it will work with the link you just gave me :)
I was hoping it will work now...
I did everything like in the guide and i stopped at step :
"13b. Goto C:\GOW2PAL\@NEW-PART1.PAK\pss folder,select all the 12 pss file and move into C:\GOW2PAL\@NEW-PART1.PAK folder
-easy sfv creater need to install
note :Go to the *GOW2PAL-SPA.rar* archive, copy this file NEW-PART1.PAK.sfv paste inside the @NEW-PART1.PAK folder and run NEW-PART1.PAK.sfv to check any file corrupted , if all perfect goto next step "
I copied NEW-PART1.PAK.sfv to my @NEW(...) and i opened it with SFV Creator.
Looks like 31 files are corrupted.
What I might did wrong?

Eventhough I had those "31 corrupt files" and then the errors checking 5 PAK parts I made an iso.
Files weresame size as those in the guide. I'm gessing the problem was in downsampling >use stream>Primary cause in original guide you also gave me was stream 4 if I remember (spanish or something)
So I made that .iso burned it on DVD with x2 speed and... It worked the DVD is working :)
The only thing is I'm not sure when it might crash if it will cause I can't check that rite now.
But looks like it's working and I hope it will stay that way.
Big thanks for your help. I wouldnt do it without it or at least it would ake longer then hmm.. 4 days :)

I was able to get to Great Chasm and then I can't go ahead.... After I killed every monster infront of the gate is remains closed and I cand climb up (keep falling down like it was an invisible wall there that you can't pass.
Looks like those errors I had are responsible for this cause its like I sopose to put 2nd DVD of NTSC version (I have PAL and 1 DVD)
What I sopose to do to make working DVD ;/

There are 2 Great Chasm in the game.
I am assuming you are at this one.

It will show you how to open the gate.
Unless it is errors. In the NSTC version of God of War 2, you get 2 discs, but second disc is just Bonus Movies etc. Has nothing to do with the game itself.
The first disc is the full game on DVD9

Yea it was this one. After writing the post i noticed that levar and was able to continue. Gess it was a falstart all cause of bunch of info that i red (2x DVD version and when to swich DVD's). Everytime when it loads longer then usual I keep thinking that game crushed.
Sorry for the truble :)
Looks like it's working well and I hope it will stay that way ;)
