Ok I believe he said when downsampling you would get an error and then you should just ignore it and click ok each time.
You can get iml2dvd here without worrying about a password.
Personally instead of downsampling the way in his guide, I would just use pssdown to reduce the file size of the pss files. Much easier and quicker.
Just remember if you are going to attempt downsizing yourself please make sure that the final size of the rebuilt file is
less than 4,294,967,295 bytes (4096MB).

Never mind guys, smokeyrain - thx for the iml2dvd and pssdown link - even though i already had pssdown.
Another thing that bonus03.pss file, i used pssdown at 72% downsample rate, as a result i got my (split)folder to 2.41 Gigs, dragged the contents to extracted folder overwriting the other .pss files.
(i know sonix's way was long but fun, i learned a lot)
i then deleted my split folder - no longer needed, then rebuilt with God of War tool (relinking was perfect this time), i had to make my own .iml & .ims files, it was easy (i used cddvd gen) then created my iso with iml2dvd (the finished product scared me, why? it was in .rar - 3.98Gigs) but i know i did everything else correct so i just used dvd decryptor at 2x.
it played perfect so far, i'm now inside pandora's temple.
i gotta say thx to everyone for the help especially sonix & smokeyrain, currently i'm suffering from lack of sleep but when i get home i aint gonna sleep!!
oh, by the way Jizmak, i followed your tutorial first and i don't know how you got yours to work after deleting the .psw and .pss files coz that's why when i rebuilt all the .psw and .pss files were on the left therefore, i couldn't relink. i think you need to make some corrections - how come no one saw this or pointed it out? peace!

I don't really give up easy, by the way i completed the game on easy and i'm currently trying all the other levels - leavin "god mode" for last, I'd say one of the best games ever.
Memory card exploit playing psx backups is kickin my hiny big time!!!

Hey quick question. I also need to create a new iml file because my finished PART1.PAK is not exactly the right size. Could anyone tell me where to find cddvd gen and how to use it to create the iml file? Sorry, I know you said it was easy, but I've spent quite a bit of time looking for the program and I'm not sure I will know how to use it.

Open cddvdgen > Select Create new project > Select Dvd rom master disc > Then ok. Now drag cddvdgen to one side of your screen.
Open your God of War folder - Drag it to the other side. Select all files then drag to the right side of cddvdgen.
Write down the scus, sles or slus with number, eg. scus 973.99. Now click the volume tab.
In the 1st box: input scus, sles or slus.
In the 2nd box: input the number WITHOUT THE PERIOD!
For producer: PLAYSTATION.
Select License area: America or Japan or Europe.
Now click REC and select where you'd like to save it.
You should get 2 errors, click ok for both. (You now have your IML and IMS files, check the location you selected. You can close everything)
!!!!If you get 1 error, you need to download "WNASPI32.DLL" and put it in your windows system32 folder.!!!!

Hey guys im havein a problem i have extracted the 16 file and have them in a folder called gow on my desktop but when i start the Godofwar tool v1.00 is says this " TOOL Mfc application has stoped working whats wrong and can some one please help me i realy want ta get this game on dvd5 thanks for your time i have windows vista ultimate also if that helps

Click properties on the GOW tool and run in in compatibility mode with Windows XP and see if that helps.

Is this the Munge-o-Matic tool you are using? There should be a folder called plugins along with it that has .dll files in it.

k all i have is a exe file called god of war tool v1.00 ?? can you please point me in the right direction for the right file please please please thanks for your time :) omg google lol i fould that and it seamed to extract the toc yus a little bit closer but now i gota go out so i will post how i get on thatnks heeps for your help even thos it was small it helpd me big those 3 words Munge-o-Matic tool thank you :)

Gay it started and run through a bit but then same thing poped up again :( this time it made a 3 files in the extracted folder a 2 4 and g file all very small :( gutted

Ok the reason I mentioned to try Munge-o-Matic was from his tutorial.

You have to register to see file.
You may want to post in his forums on how to get too work with Vista, cause I have no idea.
I figured the compatibility properties would work.

Hey, i couldnt find the Sonix GoW Tool anywhere. After about an hour of searching i finally found it and im uploading it to make it easier for anyone who needs it to find it!
This is basicly a GoW Ripkit (Apache2, GoW tool, CD DVD Gen, DVD Decrypter and a tut) Enjoy.

hi, i got DVD9 GOW, i want to copy it into DVD9 blank disc,
shud i follow this tutorial? or i just can copy it like that
using maybe imgburn? because this tut is for ripping DVD9 gow into
dvd5? or i shud follow this tut.

Just burn it on Verbatim DL DVD+R with imgburn at 2.4x speed.
Make sure to set your BOOKTYPE to DVD-ROM for +R media.
Use imgburn to make the backup, and too burn it.

Hello.
Well I bought GoW II but looks like i cant play it on my PS2 so I decided to split it wit the guide.
All went well untill I had to use a tool.
When I klicked "Extract":
I tryed Munge-o-Maic! and it's the dame story...
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong ? I'm confused cause others seems to not have this problem
I used DVD Decrypter on my original DVD9 then Apache 2

Yes I want to rip my DVD9 God of War II to 2x DVD5.
I was looking almost like everywhere how can I do it and this is the only place that was actualy the best.
It's almost the same. PART2.PAK is also on 2nd layer.
I listed the files that I got (screen).
I was doing everything step by step.
"
You will need
1)dvd decrypter
2)cddvdgen
3)apache 2 <---ps2nfo.com
4)SONIX GOD OF WAR TOOL (availible at his website)
First open dvd decrypter and decrypt the .iso
to your hdd.
A complete .iso of 7.97gb is what you need to
extract both layers.
You have to use apache 2 to extract both layers.
The files must be placed together and fully
extracted (not in .iso form).
(Iso-buster will not work as it wont extract the
second layer.
Extract both layers of the dvd9 into the same directory.
You are looking for 16 files 7.97 gb
(make sure you got pak2 file from layer 1 and
place in same directory as the other files)
Run the tool click browse, select the GODOFWAR.TOC file and click extract button.
Sit back and wait....
Once all files have been extracted you may notice that the total size of files extracted is smaller than the two large files, this is because there are many dupes inside the large files.
To make a working dvd5 backup, delete all files with the extension *.PSW and delete all the BONUS*.PSS files too. That should leave you with a folder size of about 3.5GIG.
Run the tool again, select the GODOFWAR.TOC file and click rebuild button.
Sit back and wait..."
This is where I have that Windows application error msg.
Anyone know where at least I can find info about GOW II rim do DVD5 or smth? :S
