You should use the proper tsMuxeR as well, if you are using the Blu-ray output this is not good. Use the tsMuxeR linked below and use AVCHD as the output.

I hava a bluray output generated with tsmuxer. I used AVCHDME to rename the structure.

I put BDMV and CERTIFICATE in the AVCHD folder and put it in to the my external hd (usb) and when I plug the hard disk on the PS3, it not detected as AVCHD :(

when I click on the device, the PS3 show me the content in the VIDEOS folder.

What I did wrong ?

ps.. the movie and audio are compatible with the ps3.. is not that the problem
The AVCHD folder needs to be in the root of the USB HDD.

E:\AVCHD\
Thanks for replay.
Can you explain how in the root of the USB HDD??I just put it in to the my external hd and plug the hard disk on the PS3,but it not detected as AVCHD :(

when I click on the device, the PS3 show me the content in the VIDEOS folder.
connect the USB HDD to your computer, and open it up to view the files and folders.

The first thing you should see is the AVCHD folder. that folder shouldn't be in any other folder - it's in the root of the drive, not nested in any other folder.

Just like when you click your C: drive and you see the Windows folder - you should click on your USB HDD and see an AVCHD folder right there, not in any other folder.
'
The AVCHD folder is alone and it is not in any other folder,it is direct in to the external hdd and inside it is just 2 folders (BDMV and CERTIFICATE),and I try both AVCHD-ME and AVCHD manager without any results..only when Iwhen I click on the rectangel the PS3 show me the content in the VIDEOS folder.

While in the XMB's video menu, press X on USB icon, then press X again on AVCHD.

Use the latest version of tsMuxeR and mux to AVCHD. Then do the AVCHD-Me program, then transfer to USB... then follow the instructions in my previous post.

Not sure about that. You are going to need to ask over at Doom9, there is a dedicated tsMuxeR support thread there.

Anyone know if this method will work. I have an external HDD (NTFS with a FAT32 partition).

1. Use mkv3vob to create multiple .vob files suitable for FAT32.

2. Move them to FAT32 partition.

3. Connect External HDD to PS3 and play .vob files on FAT32 partition.

Yes, this will work. You could also use tsMuxeR and create .m2ts files. If you have streaming capabilities there is no file size restriction for m2ts on the PS3's HDD.

How is streaming compared to connecting via USB? Just worried that it will skip/studder throughout.

You don't need to stream neccesarily, however you can copy directly to the PS3's HDD without a file size limitation with .m2ts. The 2 main benefits to this is.. 1) no splitting of large files, and 2) uncompressed LPCM audio is achievable when using m2ts... so if you have a BD reader, you can convert DTSHD-MA/TrueHD to an identical quality LPCM track... nearly twice the size, but identical quality... then copy to the HDD.

Since you have a partition on an external... I'm assuming a fairly large one too, you may want to check these processing apps out, extremely efficient, and excellent for what you are dealing with. Instructions and support can be discussed there.

I have a BD reader/writer.. I also have a 1TB FAT32 external to store my BD rips, all in a format that is called AVCHD, basically identical to the actual main movie on a blu-ray. Check out the AVCHD Manager link for more details.

For multiple titles, like several TV shows.. check out the multiAVCHD link.

So you stream your AVCHD files? Wireless?

The AVCHD process seems a bit more involved than using mkv2vob. Are there any major advantages to using AVCHD over VOB?

I am hard-wired to my PS3... however if you have a good connection through wireless, you can copy as well.

The main advantages of AVCHD is
-retention of HD audio if your receiver is capable.
-not limited to h264 (or MPEG-2)... AVCHD can use VC-1
-subtitles are an issues with m2ts/vob, AVCHD has no issues

Try using Subtitle Workshop.
-Open the app
-Set the input FPS to 23.976 (or 24000/1001)
-Set the output FPS to the same as the input
-Load the original SRT from the MKV
-Save-As SubRip SRT.

This might help.

I have already followed above step, but I still failed to put subtitle :(

here's what I do:
1. I add .mkv file

I changed profile level to 4.1 (to be play in PS3), and language to eng.

2. I add .srt file that i have already convert to 23.976 (fps), followed your step above.

I changed the language into eng.

but after finish muxing, and try to play this .m2ts on my pc/ps3, it's failed :(
any help??
here's the meta file:

MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --vbr --vbv-len=500
V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "Z:\temporary 3\movie 1\Transporter_3.mkv", fps=23.976, level=4.1, insertSEI, contSPS, ar=As source, track=1, lang=eng

Ok guys this is my first post so take it easy on me.

I have a ripped bluray main movie on my pc which I used dvdfab to rip. I am using tsmuxer to split the bluray into 4GB chunks so I can copy it to my WD external hardrive. I then bring the harddrive to the PS3 and try to play the movie. At first I ran into the DTS audio problem. I was getting video but no audio no matter what I did. I tried the eac3to program but couldnt get it to work. Anyway, I then found a bluray I owned with a LPCM audio track. I have ran it through tsmuxer splitting it into 4GB using just the LPCM audio and the video portions. I use the create chapeter every 5 minutes, not sure if that matters or not. My video plays great with audio, but the first 3-4 files are saying UNSUPPORTED DATA. When I try to play them, they say CORRUPT DATA. The last one always works. I have tried to split them into 1 gb files, 2 gb files, and 3 gb files, nothing has worked. I am not sure what setting I have wrong. When I first tried this today, All the audio tracks were on there which I could switch to on the ps3. I used the AVCHDme program also, but it hasnt changed the outcome. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

thanks

ok guys. sorry for quoting myself, but I finally fixed it.

I used the program MultiACHD and ran the bluray movie which I decrypted with dvdfab through it and it worked perfect. Now when I go to videos under the XMB in the ps3, the video comes up as AVCHD. The movie now plays fine with subtitles and different selections of audio including LPCM and dolby digital 5.1

Hello guys, im a newb, take it easy on me
Basically, i have a 1080p asf file (i used asfbin to reindex my 1080p wmv because when i play it on my laptop, i cant "seek" i google it and found that i had to reindex)

When i play it on my ps3 it just says corrupted file
When i click "information" on the video file the video codec is recognised (VC-1 something) but audio is not (its just blank)

so im thinking the audio is not supported and thats why its corrupted
Is there any software that can extract the audio from the the asf file, convert the audio to one supported by ps3 then replace the audio of the original file

Sorry if im not using the correct technology

Thanks in advance~!!

Hello!

Using tsMuxer 1.10.6 on Mac OS X and having a problem. Input is a .mp4 with H264 video track and AC3 2.0 audio. muxing to .m2ts (or AVCHD folders) will play back via VLC but on the PS3 only the audio track plays, video is very blocky or won't play at all. I made sure level selected was 4.1 or less, help!

So to clarify, does the video play on the PS3 or not?
