Well they are all gone ...... dvd-coverart.com .... customcdlabels.com and daprogger.

Hopefully something will change till then it is back to the scanner for now. Maybe bbmayo can help with a guide to making custom cd covers seing how he is lightyears ahead of us all. Man I hate graphix work ..... maybe it is because I am too picky for my own good. lol

I'm with you I hate graphics stuff - I also hate buying a DVD and the label is just silver with core writing (Ray - fullscreen for example). I usually try and bribe my daughter to do them.
bbmayo - any guides on the horizon for custom label making?

All I can say is get Adobe Photo Shop and go to town!! Thats what I use, and I can't say I like doing it to much, but sometimes I had to so I could get good ones. Now it looks like I may doing more of my own. I should just start my own site I already have a shit load of covers anyway.. Naw thats to much work, and I wouldn't have time for AD then :-(

I already am familiar with some graphix work and Fireworks. I am more curios on how you set up you template to get started. Do you use templates or is it trial an error for you bb? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have always found programming interesting and could and have sat here all night working out some bugs in some site or another ..... but never really got into the graphix side ..... building a site would not be hard but maintaining it would be ..... and I will assume that the site was shut down probably under allot of pressure ..... I don't think I would want to go there.

I just make all mine 1000 X 1000 pixels in size and go from there. When you put a lable into any lable printing software just make sure you set it as the background and it will auto size it to fit for you :-)

they aren't saying, but I believe it has something to do with copyright's. DaProggers said his just got to be to much to run anymore, but I am not buying that.

Ok ..... I have played around a little and came up with this .... Since some guy's and gals may be interested in making their own now .... Here is a little something to guide them along. I used fireworks as my image editor so things may be a little different depending what you use ..... hope it helps. Since the guide may be a bit big to put here I just threw it all on a simple web page ....

http://www.petawawabassmasters.com/DVD/

You can also get a printable version there as well.

Cheers ....

I had a question about ink for the epson r200/300s, has anyone here tried the pigment based one? I read it was water resistant, Im guessing that dosent really mean water proof :/
Does the quality of the pictures change? Or is it better quality with pigment types? Any input appreicated, thx! :)

To bbmayo:

Hello, do you have any susgestions on where to find DVD Disc symbols, like DVD Logo, Widescreen and possibly Movie Studio logos too.

I have used frame grabs and made B&W logos but it would be better if there was a dedicated font. I am aware of Combi Symbols AV but this is expensive, any insight into free symbol fonts?

Thanks
M

For the dvd logos i suggest a quick visit here http://www.incomplete.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/covers.html the cover tutorial here is coming along nicely, and the logos are here as well. They were down a moment ago but if u email him and ask nicely i am sure he would be happy to oblige. He does make some cracking covers.

There's another good source for original cover art that i use. it usually take a little adjusting but i'm very pleased, its also alot quicker that scanning. Check out the movie poster websites. theres usually really good jpegs of the original movie posters which can be used for covers. try these

I need help with the Epson R200 settings. I uses hub printable media and each time I print a label, there is always white on either the left or right or top or bottom. I've tried everythig, changing the inner specs and outer specs. I've even tried shifting template up or down or left and right...nothing seems to ever get 100% all of the media....there's always some white showing.

someone postes 23 inner and 118 outer, but that still shows white on some edge. Is this normal?

mine is 22 118..

if you have white just make the printing surface bigger, you can just wipe of the extra if there is any.. but 22 inner is perfect for me, no excess.

I've taken the print surface all the way to 120 and I still get white on an edge (either left, right, up or down)
