what?? i live in california.
i emailed them over 10 times and they told me the same crap over and over.. then i called the service center and she told me that she could only fix it, not replace it. no matter how badly it was broken.
epson was horrible.. they were actually being dicks to me. i told them it was 6 hours away and they pretty much said too bad for you.
canon does make injet cd printable printers.

and another bad thing, is the waste of ink.. you can literally repeatedly turn this printer on and off without printing one thing until the ink will be read lower and lower, and completely runs out.
you can run out of ink without makin one print.. pretty retarded if you ask me.
obviously there is going to be ink still in the cartridge but that makes no difference, there is a chip on the side that tells the printer how much ink has been used, and if it says none left, you cant use the printer anymore. even if the cartridge is actually completely full.

I'd like to know where to get a Canon CD printer in the US.
Last I looked a few weeks ago they were available in the UK but not in the US.

very simple
WARRANTY :-)
We have been lucky so far. one thing I did was to use the epson for absolutely NOTHING but cd/dvd printing. I NEVER put a peice of paper in that machine except super high gloss paper (no fibers to transfer) for head testing etc..
we have printed thousands of discs I have had to reset the waste counter once already. so far so good (we have 2 R200's and 1 R300)
we got a really good deal on another R200 for $79 so we grabbed that to keep as a spare backup unit in case one does go down.
we use a canon for picture printing because #1 I love the BCI3 cartridges they are ultra cheap at under $2 a pop and only the canon does TRUE edge to edge ie no overlap or overbleed the ENTIRE picture which is critical for the things I print.

hmm, maybe they dont have one. I thought the canon they sold at staples had cd printing capability, but im not positive. It seriously looked like it did though, it had a tray that was very similar to epson's.
Ill be sure to check next time im there.
warranty or not though, the CS at epson was horrible, mine is definately under warranty, but they wouldnt replace anything.. and why did you need to give out your credit card information? that doesnt make much sense.
ive had 2 of these printers. the first one got old and wore out, it said the "parts were past their service life" and stopped printing.
ive made over 2000 prints with them together. like i said the picture quality isnt bad, but the quality of the printer is pretty lacking. especially the return policy.

Hi all--sorry to jump in here but I saw you were talking about the Epson Photo printer--Stylus R200--(I live in Florida--Fort Laud area)I got one 2 months ago and absolutely love it--I got replacement inks from Supermedia and they work well--I did have problems in the beginning and actually got ink all inside the printer--I cleaned it as best I could and now seems to be OK--I do have a question if anyone can help me--when I go to print on DVD's it works fine except for when the image is actually too small--can I actually enlarge the entire image to be printed? If so, how? Thanks to anyone who can help

I resize the image with Paint Shop Pro.
I crop the edges on all 4 sides to just inside where the art work starts a pixel or 2 and resize it to 12cm at 200 - 300 DPI.
You can stretch a smaller image to fit by dragging the edges of the image to fit the template in the Epson print CD software.
I think resizing with Paint Shop or Photoshop is best though.

Hello their Whitfield..U might find this place a little better in price & the quality of ink is good..http://private.abacus24-7.com/(mfohflqsewy0ww553xfmn0il)/home.aspx?..I go through an average of 2 sets of cartridges a week..another hint is u will use 2 black & 2 yellow more then the rest of the colours u use so when ordering make sure u buy the xtra black & yellow
now for the next problem..after u open your CD PRINT..GO TO IMPORT & select picture, instead of background..u will see a bunch of black tics all around your label use these to resize your label..now on the yellow CD to the left click to resize your CD OUTER DIAMETER 120 ALWAYS..INNER DIAMETER 40 OR 41 DEPENDING ON PRINTER..U will have 2 play with inner as i don't know what DISC u use..Hub printable i use 120 & 20..standard DVD i use 120 & 40 these settings work great for me...If u know u are going to need the same label again u can save it in the epson format..& it will retain all the info for u..so the next time all u have to do is click on it where ever u saved it..it will pop right up for u then just hit print HOPE this helps

THE reason u have to give them your credit card # is to guarantee u send back the falted printer..& not decide to keep it along with the new one they ship u..u know what scams are?

I live in Germany and own an Epson R300 and a Canon ip 3000 and now a 4000. The Pixma series blow the epsons away for CD Print quality, speed and most of all the inks last alot longer.
Not to say that the Epson is not a bad printer, It isn't but there are people using the epson and R thinking it's da dogs bollocks (Mostly N. Americans where there are no plans by canon of yet to release Pixma CD printing ip's)
Try The Canon Pixma for affordability and it's CD printing is amazing too.

Well forget that idea. Here's the response I received from Canon about it.
Quote: Thank you for your inquiry. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
Globally, Canon is comprised of many different sales divisions.
Each sales division makes their own business decisions as to the products and features they feel will help them achieve their goals and best suit their market.
Canon USA has made the decision not to include the CDR/DVD printing feature on consumer printers sold in this market.
The above statement is the official statement released by Canon USA regarding CD printing inquiries sent to Canon Email Support.
Thank you for contacting Canon.
I think it was a bad decision on Canon's part because it leaves the US CD printing market Wide A** Open for Epson.
Well, so much for Canon. I'll just buy another Epson when the time comes.
BTW, I'm NOT a Canon customer. Doubt I will be.

@ Newbious:
I believe it is a sticky licensing issue that is stopping Canon from selling their Pixma Series printers with the CD printing feature. I do believe that they would undoubtedly be made available if they could.
@ Anyone in the US who wants a CD Pixma:
All is not lost though for those wanting a Pixma with CD printing...Order online? There cheap here in Germany...anyone got a friend in Europe?, get them to buy you one!! plus buy a cheap electrical converter if needed.

Hey there..Manu_DVD..Thats a good idea why don't u go ahead & set it up check out the shipping & if u need a electrical converter..or just have to move a couple of wires..maybe theirs a switch on the printer.BET U could sell a few right here through Afterdawn..I'd buy one..but probably the shipping is to high..maybe the warranty could be covered in the USA..WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT CANON on that & see ?

Ok...Well it's a nice thought but I have my hands full right now! Thanks for the suggestion though..
Theses days I don't bother with fancy full face printing, I simply prefer a B&W or colour logo any some basic text..see below..

Does anybody know if there is any other softare that can be used with the Epson R200/R300 Printers to print directly on to CD/DVD's other than using Epson PrintCD, i find the Epson Version is too basic and lacks features.......

Does anyone have any bad experiences with silver printable CDs instead of the white ones. I am thinking about trying the Silver, hoping they are more shiny maybe? Thanks.

For some movies I actually like the silver printable ones better. It gives them a 3D effect.
