KK, just confirming that. Someone had mentioned doing a straight copy with Nero (then again I'm not really awake yet). Thank you anyway, the DVD Decryptor looks pretty easy to use, hopefully I'll have no troubles. ^_^

yep

Avoid cheap DVD's the secret lies in affordable but Reliable media that doesn't stress the laser too much.

A friend recommended using ARita discs

i know i'm a newbie so this is probably gonna be my one and only question, once it's answered i'll be totally happy. i used the dvd decryptor on "Dark Cloud" (my favorite game) and it made the DVDIMAGE file and then the .MDS file. I then switched to .ISO write mode and wrote the image file to a DVD-R. then i used my magic swap to play it and it gave me the classic red screen of failure.. help me please is there a step i'm missing...i hope so

The only reason why DVD Decrypter made the MDS file is because the actual image is too large. Well I think it only makes the image file certain size and then it makes another one. The .mds file just links the two together. When burning the game to a disk, select the mds file and everything should work. Thats if your loading the game correctly. I always burn at 1x with Ritek ridata disks.

Somebody correct me if Im wrong.

Hi gkmpb4

you are right.

Ritek and a slower burn speed.

I write at 2X and have no problems either.

I have a mod chip Messiah 2.

Works every time.

good call Sly, how about everyone actually try and read through the forum and get your answers there and when all else fails then write, instead of wasting our time. because when you do that, at least a couple people feel compelled to write about how you didnt read beforehand like Sly and I. thats what forums are for.
P.S.-burn the .MDS file every time

i have read all the threads before mine and it doesnt say anything exactly how to do it, just bits and pieces,
like how should the options on decrypter be set up,
how do you manage to burn both files, tell me where it has complete instructions for an idiot and i wont bother with all of you again, thanks
