Just as a point of additional information, if you delete the "CCE=" entry completely, CCE Basic is the default.

CCE Options selections for the encoder enter a corresponding number other than for the Basic.
CCE=0 CCE SP 2.50
CCE=1 CCE SP
CCE=2 CCE Basic (No CCE entry in configuration defaults to Basic, program enters CCE=2 when initially absent from file, changes to 2 when Basic is selected following another encoder having been selected for same rebuilder app previously.)
CCE=3 CCE SP Trial
The selection needs to correspond to the path.

jdobbs,
;) We were saying the same thing only in a different way. Your program, I'm sure you know how it works better than I do. For those not having noticed the setup features, I was just pointing out for CCE Basic, the CCE=2 doesn't have to be in the initial configuration file. As you pointed out, Rebuilder defaults to Basic (CCE=2). For the other versions, the CCE=(?) is present from the start.

ALL!
I ran into an event where I wanted to use the new matrix option under DVD-RB pro. I was backing up a BBC episodic DVD. The average bit rate was 1.7-1.95MB\Sec.
Attempt 1:
The configuration file used with DVD-RB was tried and tested over many backups. I turned off the following options for an episodic DVD.
- Half D1
- steal space enabled
This method caused a run-time error ?9?. The disc in question was not edited or modified in any way.
Attempt 2:
I used the advanced quantization option: very low bit-rate. (< 2MB)\Sec. The following options were still turned off for an episodic DVD.
- Half D1
- Steal Space .
The backup completed without errors. The video looked perfect even under a high zoom. It does not get any better then this.

This error sometimes occurrs due to the version of AviSynth and DGDecode being used. What versions of AviSynth and DGDecode are you using?

Weird is the word for it. I've never seen readings like those. The bitrates look way out of scale as does the reduction. Does this happen with all your backups or just this particular one?

It appears that you've run into one of those rare discs that is completly ILVU. I'm working on the routines to reencode them. For right now the only option is to use a third party package to remove the additional angles.
As for Runtime 62 -- I don't have a clue, I've never seen that.

The thing is there is no other angles
Can u reccommend a good 3rd party program to try to fiddle with the vob's?

DVDReMake Pro is a popular editing tool used by a lot of people on the forum. If you're looking for some freeware, check the software section here at AD and the section at Doom9.

DGDECODE.DLL came in the ZIP file that contained DVD-RB v0.80 and above. Unzip it into the same directory as DVD-RB and use that instead of MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL. It's faster and better. Make sure you don't forget to point to it under "DECODER" in the SETUP dialog.
There have been reported problems related to folks using incompatible versions... and some other less "well-behaved" applications have been known to either change the registry entry that points to the AVISYNTH plug-in directory, or replace your decoder without telling you. So I've decided it's better to just keep is safe and close to DVD-RB...

I've always kept DGDECODE.DLL and its predecessor in the same folder with RB. Perhaps that explains a small part of the fact that I've never had an issue with any version of RB. Just a note of interest, one individual had difficulty getting RB to work with Prodcoder. It was resolved by placing EclPro.exe in the same folder as RB.

I believe that individual you're refering to was me, and yes I had to put it in the same folder to get it to work. :>)
Also, I too kept DGDECODE.DLL in the same folder when I replaced MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL with it and I haven't had any problems either. In fact RB/CCE is the least problematic of all the apps I use/have used once the multiple angles and interleaving problems were solved.

I sometimes wonder if things weren't kept more interesting when there were multi angle and interleave problems to solve. Hmmm! Alas poor Daredevil, I knew him well. LOL
So what if it's a bad movie!

And I've always kept my version of DGDecode and MPEG2Dec3dg in the AviSynth plugins folder and I've never had a problem with it. Can I claim success due to it's placement? I think I'll just go with RB/CCE being a good app. I've been around to watch it progress. I was very happy when they included multi angle encoding, seems like some of the better movies incorporate the feature now. I'm just curious to see what version 1 looks like.

I think jdobbs fairly well described the situation, incompatible versions, ill behaved apps, registry changes. For people unaware of how the software functions or that have problems diagnosing when a problem occurrs, it would be best to keep the decoder in a safe spot. I've always found the AviSynth plugins folder safe. I use compatible versions and don't keep any of those ill behaved apps on my PC. There is no reason not to follow jdobbs advice, so for safety's sake, I'd say users should put the DGDecode in the RB folder and there should be nothing to fear and less likelihood of a problem with the decoder. I'll just leave mine well enough alone. ;)

As jdobbs pointed out, you should be using DGDecode (as the decoder) and it is downloaded with the latest versions of RB. When you install the latest version of RB, all you have to do is change the decoder path to the DGDecode file in the Rebuilder folder.
DGDecode is the updated version of Mpeg2Dec3. The name change was to keep the new version distinguishable from the older one. DGDecode, as jdobbs pointed out, is for use with the newer AviSynth 2.5 versions.

Then you're just as fortunate as I am to have had few or no problems directing interactive applications toward a goal. In all applications there has to be a clear path to that goal.

I must say I have re-done about 30 movies with DVD Rebuilder/CCE and have not had a problem yet.
I did use the Rockas installer at first,maybe that has something to do with it.Even upgrading to the newest version of Rebuilder is as simple as extracting it to the DVD Rebuilder program file.
It seems like Jdobbs comes out with a new update before I even get to know the last version.What do you guys think about the new Movie and Menu option?

Haven't tried it yet but ain't it great how jdobbs just keeps adding and improving the proggy?
In response to your statement "I did use the Rockas installer at first,maybe that has something to do with it"
You can bet your bottom dollar it had everything to do with it! Almost everyone who has experienced problems with rebuilder it has boiled down to two things. Setup and trial or cracked versions of CCE. Rockas has taken care of setup.
