cearal,

Hey I've been having some problems with this guide and are hoping you'd be able to help me. I've followed the instructions and tried with several different games but seem to come to the same conclusion. When I pop them in my 360 (modded with iXtreme) I get the message telling me to "play this game, put it in your xbox 360". I've tried SS merger 1.6 and 1.7b and seem to have the same problem and I think its with the video partition.

Step 1 goes by fine. I changed the 3rd line to a D and then dump the iso file (I'm even using Finding Neverland). I get a 7gb+ file and then I pop it into SS Merger and after searching for the MD5 it pops up an error message saying "ISO looks like Xtreme way (No video partition) and then it switches the option to padded (Xtreme way). I've tried merging it like this and have had no success burning. I switched the option back to "included in iso" (Wxripper way) and get the screen on my xbox after burning it. My SS files I've gotten off of modfilesnet the burning is followed the way it is shown (ps, I am using Fujifilm DVD+R DL). I've tried doing the files in ss merger 1.7b and get the video partition failed error when I stealth check the iso's in xdvdmulleter and xbox backup creator.

Do you have any ideas what i am doing wrong? please

try this tutorial instead
http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/get=61/mirror=188.html

go to backing up game-wxripper

but if you follow this tutorial i don't think he states that you have to also inject the PFI and DMI Files with XDVDMulleter and ixtreme 1.4 will not boot a game if these files are not present.

Textbook states how to do this in that tutorial i linked you too.

Thanks for the reply. I did figure out the problem. I downloaded XDVD Mulleter and needed to inject the generic video file so that the video partition was present. I got this from an iso that already had one. Then I used Mulleter to inject the SS, PFI and DMI and voila, no more problems.

Thanks for your help though.

Hey all, nice easy tutorial to understand... not sure if i posted on forum sorry if it's wrong, need help, tried 2 different games to burn using hotswap method but had no success. Every thing seems to be working fine i changed the layer break in dvd decrypter burned the image on a verbatim dvd + r dl. Dvd decrypter says the iso is approx 7.5 gig and select 1x burn speed the image is burnt i put it in the xbox 360 it says unplayable disc. Then i put it in the pc select dvd drive right click then properties it says 0 bytes. But it looks like it's burnt all the way to the outer edge. Thanks...

Hey, got xdvdmulleter inject the video, then checked to see if all the boxes are ticked before burning. Used clone cd to burn image on 1x put it into the xbox 360 and it says... The disc is unreadable. 1. Clean the disc with a soft cloth. 2. Restart the console. Any idea's? Thanks...

Saw a small mark on the dvd dl looks like it might be from factory. So i decided to use my last dvd dl and try again, instead of using clone cd i used xbox creator to do the burning. Bingo lucky number 8 DVD DL... any idea's why ss merger 1.7b didn't work?? Tried different settings... Any way i'm cheering. Tried heaps of different techniques on different sites and no go. Thanks heaps for pointing me in the right direction.

Hey, sorry, I've gone through this tutorial many times, and gave up. But I'm trying again, and I'm a little confused about the xdvdmulleter thing.... do we need the video partition? Or is this program like xbox backup creator where its just for injecting the ss, DMI and PFI files? Before i used SS merger and that didn't work. I dont wanna be one of those people who needs to spell out every little thing they do when the tutorial is right there; cause i get the ISO file, but when burned (after patching and even stealth patichng) got a "please insert this disc into an xbox 360 game consol" msg. Please clairify this xdvdmulleter thing; whether its used to get a video thingy that i need, or if its like xbox backup creator and injecting the patches. Thanks

I use WXRIPPER to make all of my backups as I dont have the samsung drive. Here is how you can do it too.

1. Rip the ISO with WXRIPPER
2. Once the ISO is in your HDD open schtrom 360 and open your ISO you just made.
3. Extract the game.iso from your ISO your just ripped
4. Open the qame.iso using dvdmulleter
5. Click the tab that says CRC
6. Click auto fix.

It will download and inject all the files needed to make the game stealth.

Hey, I got that schtrom 360 program, but when I went to open it, it said "no 360 drive found." I'm currently getting another one from another site, but if that doesn't work please advise as what to do.

Click the tools tab at the top. Inside the toold tab it should say inject/extract iso. A new screen will open and you can browse and select your ISO that you have in the HDD. Next put the dot next to extract. There is drop down next to that. Make sure you choose game.iso. Finally pick a folder for the game.iso. Click start. It will tell you there is no valid ss or dmi ect ect. Click ok each time. It will then rip the game ISO for you.

If your still having issues I can go through the process and take screen shots for you. It wont be until later tonight though when I get off work.

Do these steps work if you are using the emergency eject button on your dvd drive instead of taking the top off?

I think something might be wrong with my ripping. I'm following your steps with schtrom, but it's telling me its not a valid 360 ISO. I guess I'll have to be one of these ppl who has to outline every little thing. hahah OK here it goes:

1: place real DVD in drive (DL DVD; I'm using Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the new one)
2: Once the disc loads, open wxripper
3: Click "Find Magic Number;" it does so
4: Save layout, open, change third line C to capital D, save again
5: Stop drive, remove disc, place 360 in
6: Load altered layout file, spin disc, start dump
7: It rips and I have an ISO
Now what I was doing before was then:
1:Open up XBOX360 Backup Creator, go to Image Tools and press inject
2:Inject SS,PFI,DMI files that i found from http://www.ss.softmodfiles.net/
3:Stealth checked, and it said it passed, though video partition was questionable
4: burned (I've burned other back-ups, so I know that's not a problem.)

So now you see what I'm doin... WHAT THE @#$@ !!!!!!!
Oh btw, a friend of mine is able to do it, but he doesn't do anything with the layout file. He hits stop drive, but it keeps spinning, he swaps, and it rips perfectly. I tried this too, but it got stuck on the third section at 89088 EVERYTIME. He also told me that the disc name should be blank after stopping the drive, mine still says charlie and the chocolte factory.
Thanks for the patience.
