Can't see how they can do that. For starters the boxes are not illegal unless the software is added. They can be used for free to air channels so basically my take on that is if N*L did pull a stunt like that they would effectively be damaging peoples 'legal' property and open to being sued. But I guess we'll know tomorrow!

I also heard something similar about them tampering with the signals - apparently they were sending a signal through the cable to fry the chip in all these boxes but according to a tech mate of mine it can't be done through a coax cable.I think this is just scare mongering.

yes mate it sounds like a bad flash !
box to box transfers sometimes do this, its like a weaker flash ( to put it that way)
Better off flashing it straight from your pc !
all should be ok then ....

How long do you think these boxes will last before they are scrambled for good? I have one now for 3 months, it?s still working fine. A few of my mates want me to get them one but I?d feel bad if I did and they got scrambled a week later. Will they go on for a while at least?

spoke to soon on test broke down patterned green spots[ghosting]frozen picture when i hit epg .i will try different source and computer and try again. if i had new virgin box and did transfer box to box as new box no data to faulty box to wipe info off it, would it work as i had problems before to get 100% as in box switching off.
or maybe send back faulty box?
