Following the directions at the beginning of this thread I was successful in updating my 3.30 OE-A PSP phat through firmware 3.52 M33-4 with the MUX 2.0 update.
However, I run into a problem when I get to the next step where the screen shows all the available firmware updates you can select. After I select the firmware I want to update to which is 3.90 M33-2 and press "X" and then "Exit" I get a message which tells me it can't locate a 3.90 PBP file. The directions state nothing about having to download a 3.90 PBP file.
Any input or suggestions?

This issue has been covered already in past post.
If you follow the guide properly you should see where your mistake is.

Hi Every1. I'm a noob too. In regards to nakawaii's issue with the motherboard, if I have a FAT PSP with IC1003 (TA-082) mb, will I forsee any issues if I try to upgrade my CFW from 3.52m33-4 to 3.90-m33-2? I should also say, if I follow the instructions properly, everything should be OK? I won't need the use of either keycleaner or idstoragemgr or pb+magic ms, correct? Thanks.

I would run keycleaner and see if key 0x005 is ok, if it wants too patch it then let it.. then run idstoragemgr and dump ur keys too memstick then put em on ur pc.. then check the keys and see if you have keys 0x007 and 0x008 (as on my IC1003 it didnt have them).. if you have got the keys then try the update.. if you havnt got the keys then idstoragemgr can add the keys when u are scrolling through and looking at them.. make sure you read the readme's in keycleaner and idstoragemgr and keep ur psp fully charged and plugged in and you shouldnt have any probs.. hope this helps..

Need Help...I ran KeyCleaner 1.4. It identified the motherboard as TA-082/86 as orignially suspected. This is what I get when I analyzed the keys...
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Checking Key 0x0004...failed This key is clear and chouldn't be.
Checking Key 0x0005...failed This key is a copy of 0x0004.
Checking Key 0x0006...failed This key is a copy of 0x0005.

Checking Key 0x0046...failed This key is a copy of 0x0045.
Checking Key 0x0047...failed This key is clear and chouldn't be.
The PSP appears to be original soft-downed. Press any key to fix.

It seems like it needs to patch more than just one key. Should I continue and press any key? What will happen? What do I need to do next? At what point do I need to dump the keys (and what does this mean)? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

let it patch them... dumping ur keys just means it copys them to ur memory stick.. u can then drag n drop onto ur pc.. ur just keeping them for future ref..

OK. I've dumped the original keys and saved onto the ms. Went back into the keycleaner and patched all the key. Should I dump the patched keys as well to save them for future ref? This is what I get after patching:
-----------------------------------------------
Checking Key 0x0004...okay!
Checking Key 0x0005...okay! Chilly Willy patched key 5 found
Checking Key 0x0006...okay!
Checking Key 0x0041...okay!
Checking Key 0x0042...okay!
Checking Key 0x0043...okay!
Checking Key 0x0045...okay!
Checking Key 0x0046...okay!
Checking Key 0x0047...okay!
Congratulations! Your keys appear to be fine.
-----------------------------------------------
It's asking me if I want to unpatch key 5. I'm guessing I should NOT do this if I don't want to brick my psp.
It looks like I'm missing key 7 and 8. How do I use idstoragemgr to add them in?
Thanks again for the help.
OK. I used IDSM to create keys 7 and 8. Dumped the keys in the \idstoragemanager\keys\ folder, the new keys 7 and 8 now exits in this folder. I went into the keycleaner and ran 'analyze keys'. Key 7 and 8 was still not there (same as above). How and where do I put keys 7 and 8? (I've read both readme's of Keycleaner and IDSM and it does not tell you what to do with these keys once you create them.)
@apdd..I was reading forums.exophase.com and noticed your similar discussion you had with Chilly Willy (http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=1238&page=27). That's where I figured out how to create the keys. But what I did not get was when he said to copy the good keys into the keys folder inside IDSM directory. In my case this was already there after creating the keys steps. This is why it seems confusing to me. Maybe I'm not reading the readme's correctly or maybe it's just too technical for me. This is why I need more specific instructions. Please help.

Ok so you say that you have made the keys 7 and 8 using idstoragemgr.. no need to dump them this time but it dosnt matter... open idstoragemgr on psp and press triangle to view/edit keys.. scroll through and does it say under key=0007 and key=0008 key appears to be non-existent? if it does then you need to press x to edit then triangle to create key.. once you have created these keys it will say key appears to be clear with all the numbers above.. once you have done this you will be fine to run the updates.... let me know how it goes.... ive sent u a pm too...

Use 1 of the many Pandora Magic Memory Stick guides that have been stickied in the PSP forum section. This should not be discussed in this thread since it is a guide for those that already have 1.50 or a custom firmware installed to their PSP already.
