Ok, starting the softmod on the d2c console. Hope it works.
One note about the NAND backup. A gamecube controller is not necessary. I was able to use the power button to toggle selection and then use the reset button to select the item. It's now backing up the NAND.
Just want to update that I was able to successfully softmod via the instructions on a d2ckey console. Thanks again.

Can I just stop after step: "HBC & BOOTMII INSTALL" ?
Or do I still need to play with the NAND Flash?
(I don't have any Cube remote... I don't like the idea of No Backup...)
Ta,
RNR
Try to use the power/reset buttons to navigate in Bootmii.

Do you recommend update to 4.2 and then proceed softmod or is it better to stay at 4.0 and softmod for 3-4.1.
At this time you can mod any firmware 4.2 and below. Just update to 4.2 firmware and use this guide.

Yes you can softmod a Modchiped system.

Are you choosing IOS249 when it asks...
Which ISO would you like to use to install other IOSs?
If you are then try it again. Sometimes the site your trying to connect to can be down or over loaded so it can't connect to it.

Thanks for this guide.
I followed all steps perfectly, including the support for Gamecube games. I installed all those additional ISO's you recommended as well.
However, when I go to Neogamma channel and launch Mario Kart Double Dash
, the game loads fine but the Wii Remote loses sync and I can't sync it back up.
Am I doing something wrong with loading this gamecube game?

You can't use a Wiimote for Gamecube games. You need a Gamecube Controler.

Go ahead and update it. It might just want to check to see if there is an update available. If it is updated with the new shop channel etc. etc. it will just say the system is already updated to latest firmware.

As the guide states you will get error messages when using AnyTitleDeleter.
Just ignore them.

It should work.
Your sure your choosing to delete them?
You did the DOWNGRADE IOS15 and PATCH IOS36 part with no errors?
You have to be doing something wrong because no one else has had this issue. So I dunno what else to say,

Just wondering as to why it says (Do not use a Micro-SD card with Adapter).
I only have a microsd card with adapter. What are the problems with using one?

because it can cause errors. so it's better to do it right the first time.

Hi, just a quick question related to cards, I have a 4gig sd card that I use with my psp, is that ok to use? Or does it have to be a 1/2 gig card? The one I have have is sandisk 4g by the way.
Thanks in advance

Hi I don't have a gamecube controller and the eject and reset button don't navigate the BootMii menu, so I can't backup my NAND. Can I carry on with everything else and back up the NAND when I get a controller or is it important to back it up first?

I installed the files onto the SD card per instructions but when I select SD Card icon no message says "Load Boot dol/elf?"
I upgraded to version 4.2U
Does the folders need to be on the SD card?
I had to format the card to FAT32.
Thanks

WOW!! This worked like a charm!! Just joined to say thanks, I just got a new WII, an LU model with 4.2U Firmware and I wasn't sure this was going to work but the directions were fool proof and it really works!!
Thanks a bunch again for a great job you guys did with this tutorial.
