AMatthews,
Thanks for the response. So its not like my FTA where if i rescan i can get more channels :).
I just wanted to make sure since after the CIOS38 successful updated it didnt go to the Wii menu like the document mentions.
Also my Any Title Deleter still has errors so just wanted to make sure i am ready for the next step.
The other method of updating your wii with Waninkoko system updater V4.0 says if a step doesnt install the first time then repeat the process unitl it is successful which is why i went with this update process since it seemed more solid.
I will continue on now, thanks for the help.

:D lol at update scan and more channels.
If you get an error in AnyTitle Deleter like -1029 or something you should run IOS Downgrader.

Thanks guys for the guide and all the help. After following the guide (with exception of uninstalling my CIOS37 V3) all worked nicely. Everything tested and works beautifully.
You are correct my Any title deleter now works as well. Thanks again for the help.

I can not understand what you are trying to say here.
If you want a channel of Neogamma on your Wii System Menu you have to install a wad of Neogamma using Wad Manager.
You do need the "cIOS thing" to play backups with NeoGamma.
I am Saying that when i get the Neogamma WAD Shall i just install it or before i Install do i update the rev thingy as i read somewhere that you have to do that or am i wrong. i have only done larrys guide on the 1st page.

Hi..
I have followed the guide and installed the HBC..and got the backup launcher and it could play some of my backed up games, but it is not able to play some games which it was previously playing (fifa 08,splinter cell) and red steel (backup).
what do I do??
do I need to follow the procedure once again from the beginning??
Is this kinda behaviour expected??
Thanks in advance..

You probably already figured it out but you can update the cIOS before or after.

You have 2 options on how to install the cMIOS files (you do not need to do both options!)...
WAD Installation: Google RVL-mios-v8.wad and download it. Then place it in the root of the SD Card. Then chose WAD Instillation option.
Network Installation: At the instillation option screen press right 1 time on the D-pad of the Wiimote. This will download the files via WiFi.
After you have selected the option you want and installed the cMIOS your Wii should reboot to the Wii Channel menu.
Now you can launch the backup Game Cube games from the WiiGator backup launcher channel in the Wii channel menu.
ok i followed this guide, however my wii is not connected to the internet in any way so i dl the wad off the internet, and put it on the root. right now everything runs fine except for gc games and i get the green screen immediately when i try loading a game.
what can i do to fix this >.>

Backup Launchers and USB Launcher skip updates so if you are running a game through a Backup Launcher or USB Launcher then you don't have to brick block it. If you are running the game through the disc channel then you need to if it is a different region than your console.
If you take the SD card out of your Wii you will not see any apps in the Homebrew Channel. That means you won't be able to access any Launchers from or anything else form the homebrew channel. You can make a channel (wad) of a an app on your Wii's system menu and use it that way without the SD card. But I would check into brick protection (such as bootmii) before doing too much with wads.

Hey, great guide!
Im trying to softmod my brothers wii for him, and just have a quick question.
He already has the homebrew channel, but only 3.2/3 or similar firmware. Should i update to 4 to install the softmod? or just leave it and install on the current firmware?
I upgraded my own wii to 4.0 using that yahtzee guide, installed cios9 etc beforehand but now get .ret errors when i try to install .wads, so im a bit skeptical to try it again, but ill save that for another thread.

For his Wii you can install cIOS without updating to 4.0
Use WadManager to install IOS16 and then use the Custom WadManager (this is the wadmanager that uses IOS16) to install which ever cIOS you have a wad of.
For your Wii you should run IOS Downgrader.

Possibly a silly question but...
followed this guide and modded my wii.. however when running the IOSDowngrader it only made it to number 7 out of 15 on the status bar before crashing with an DSI error. Had to hold thw power button in for 4 secs so it turned off to get outta the crash screen.
Went back and tried to repeat the process but it came up with "It appears it has already been installed" or something.
So I went through and completed the rest of the mod (patching ios 35 etc) with no worries and now can play backup games from backed up discs.
My question is...
Is there anything that it hasnt installed which is needed? Should I format my wii in the system menu and retry the mod again? or should I leave it as is? Sometimes when playing mad world the system hangs and needs resetting - im pretty sure it is my crappy DVD burner not giving good burns tho.
On a side note I did the exact same mod to a mates wii and it all went smooth with no DSI crash.

Also could you by chance for the completely retarded (such as myself) put up a guide on how to uninstall this softmod step by step much like your how to install one?
Just im thinking of uninstalling it and rerunning it from stratch to see if I get another DSI exception.
Cheers!
