OK I'm new at this. I tried following Andrews instructions, but there's a few differences that are giving me problems. I end up with 3 files after using Decrypter... 1_02.I00 , 1_02.I01 , and 1_02.MDS

I went into IsoBuster and opened 1_02.I00. It brings up 4 files and 6 folders. When I highlight them all and right click to extract, it all goes good until about 77%, then I get "Sector couldn't be read, Retry Ignore Quit" I didn't see anything about a error like this happening so I'm stuck at this point.

I have successfully backed up battlefront, but my copy keeps on skipping and loading takes a little bit longer then normal, and I burned on slowest speed, all other backups work, should I try reburning the game?

hey guys, a bit off topic, but i was wondering how to get around the 'modules' folder found on most PS2 games?

what i'm doing is for those PS2 games that are under 4.3GB, i try to get them onto 1 DVDR to save my DVDRs and space; its pretty much a waste to put a 2.3GB game on a DVDR when you have so much space left.

so i followed the guide, and successfully made one multi DVDR game. the problem is that most of these games have the 'modules' folder, and when i try to add all the files from 2 games, and the folders are both the same name, it is rejected.

was wondering if anyone found a way past this problem; i've heard something about renaming the file, but was afraid then it wouldn't be recogized.

hmm, I first used alcohol but got sound skips and galactic conquest mode didnt work at all :(

BUT this worked :
1. Get disc ID from original using DiscID Utility
2. Extract iso from original, read at 1x with DVD Decrypter
3. Patch disc ID into DNAS img file(s) in the iso using ImagePatcher
4. Burn patched iso with DVD Decrypter onto dvd-r at 1x. media used was tdk 4x

WORKS PERFECTLY, including online play

ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE GETTING GTA TO WORK ??

AZNBOY DID YOU TRY IT IN DOS
CLICK THE WINDOWS START BUTTON AND CLICK ON RUN.
TYPE CMD IN THE BOX AND HIT ENTER.
CHANGE THE DIRECTORY TO MATCH WHERE YOUR DEF.000 AND DEF.001 AND DEF.002
FILES ARE STORED.
EXAMPLE- IF THEY ARE ON THE C DRIVE, TYPE CD C:\ AND HIT ENTER.
ONCE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT DIRECTORY-
TYPE COPY/B DEF.000 + DEF.001 + DEF.002 DEF.ISO AND THEN HIT ENTER.
WHEN IT'S FINISHED YOU WILL HAVE A NEW ISO IMAGE NAMED DEF.ISO THAT YOU CAN NOW BURN

Just want to say andrew31 and scolcse, u two are champs, thanks sooo much for the guide and help; has taught me soo much, great to see there are still users that are happy to help!

But of course, I have a problem, and really do need some help! I followed the guide, but after using ISOBuster, I get 6 files. A starwars.000, starwars.001 and starwars.002, as well as 3 other starwars.xxx files, with weird different extensions!? The three weird files are all quite small (biggest is 1200kb)

Now everyone else has only had a 000 and 001 file, so does anyone know why i got three of those and 6 all up!???

And more importantly, what should I do? I tried combing the 000,001,002 files, but it didnt work with my SM disc. So any suggestions help would be appreciated.

Thanks sooo much for all your work so far, love to ehar an answer soon!

Hello- I?m sorry but I am very new to this. I have read this whole post and can follow it, which probably makes this the worst post here, but please respond if you have heard of this problem with SWBF.

I just got this game I cant get any pc to recognize it in order to rip the ISO, yet it plays fine in my ps2. Every time I try it, it reads the original SWBF disk as blank. I have tried 2 different PCs, mine is an XP system with an I/O magic burner. I have NEVER had this problem before and was able to rip GTA:SA just last night.

Is there anything I could be doing wrong? Bad game or a cheap burner?

Sorry for such a basic question, didn?t know where else to put it though.

Thanks!

I have an external I/O magic burner and i burned the game successfully, so i don't think it's the burner.
Try to clean the game and restart your computer with the game already inside. Its a strange problem.

Thanks for the looks and the reply. I was ready to give up when I remembered I had the original dvd reader the pc came with. I put it in a sure as H it burned the image with no problem.

So it must be a hardware issue with the drive.

For what its worth the drive model is DVD RW 1108IM. I thought it was I/O Magic, but it says MAGICSPIN on the top... you get what you get from Staples on sale I guess.

I have never had a problem with any movie or game before though.

Now I?ll put my pc back together and do the rebuild.... thanks in advance to Andrew for that.

CHEERS!!

Hmmm I'm going through this whole process, but when I get to the point of hitting "record" in DVDGen, it gives me an error "ASPI manager loading failed" I hit ok, then no other error message or next screen. From the file menu in DVDgen, I do NOT HAVE THE OPTION Of FILE>export>create image. It gives me "FILE>EXPORT IML FILE" OR "FILE>EXPORT MAP FILE"

any ideas?

Thanks zx, that guide you linked showed me how to fix my error, where I was getting the ASPI manager loading failed. It means the ?WNASPI32.DLL? IS NOT in your windows system folder. In my case, it was in my Nero install folder, so I just copied it over, and the process worked as described after that. That guide is very useful, but a lot of it has to do with putting multiple games to 1 DVD, which I just skipped over....for now.
