hello there :]
First i woul like to thanks all your help.
Second i would like to say that i think this game came from hell to haunt me. I already losted 6 dvd-r´s tryng to put this ******* game to work. Three i´ve burned in the normal way. I used the original image with Alcohol 120 and DVD Decrypter. The ones with alcohol entered but stayed on a black screen like forever, and when finally the loading screen apeared it just stayed there and i decided to shut down my ps2. With DVD Decrypter the game booted to the red screen sayng to put a ps2 media and stuff, right after the playstation 2 logo appeared.
Then i tried our friends methood. Lost more three dvd-r´s. The first with dvd-decrypter (same prob. as the one i related earlier), one with alcohol (same thing too. Black screen forever) and one with Nero (same prob. that i get with DVD Decrypter. red logo after playstation 2 logo).
I got hedaches, entered bersek mode already, and i´m starting to get mad right this moment. So, can anyone pls help me? :]
thks very much.

ps: and sorry about the bad english. ;]

nickray, you need to follow andrew's steps in the first page of this thread. using cd/dvd gen and cd/dvd gen .iso you can recreate the image and minimize it to a whopping 1.80gb, giving you super fast loading times and no problems booting the game up. if you need any of the tools pm scorsese or andrew, or me, we'll send them to you.
Ashman1; as you may know def jam fight for ny is 4.36gb also. i did the same exact thing that we did for starwars battlefront using cd/dvd gen; cd/dvd gen iso and the final .iso came out to be 2.64gb!! the movies in the game are no longer skipping, and the audio is great. i think its worth a try doing this method on huge games like the ones i just mentioned.

Hello there again. Thank you very much for your help jdilla, but as i said before, i used andrews method, but making the iso on the dos. But even using this method, i´m still having problems with it.
I think the problem is that i can´t use DVD Decrypter, or Nero to burn my images. I just don´t know why, but when i get the ps2 logo, it boots me back after a few sec. to the diagnostic area, and then to the red screen telling me to put a ps2 media. With alcohol i got the same problem with the two methods, using the original and the compact iso.
Hope you all understand my problem now. Thks very much and see ya. ;]

First of all, you need to let us know what you are confused about.

This method is pretty easy to do. If you read the WHOLE thread, you should be able to firgure out what to do. Your asking for good instructions. These are good instructions. All of the people who had problems with this game were able to get it working by reading this thread.

Good Luck.

Just to let you know if it works with other games, Ashman.

It does work for Tiger Woods 2005. I had trouble with it but I used this same method and it works as good as my original. Once again I would say even a little faster. I do not know of any reason it would not work for every game except maybe a dual layer DVD. I do not know much about dual layer PS2 games yet. Guess I will learn when GTA comes out.

I followed Andrew's post along with the visual aid from scorsese link.

nickray and everyone who is having trouble building the iso file I used HJ-Split which will put the filename.000, filename.001 together and output an iso. However when you get the ***.0000 the HJ-Split will only accept .001 to start so just rename the files and make the ***.000 ---> ***.001 and increase the rest by one.

get it here ==> http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit

It will also split an iso up.

another successful burn here! I came here as a newb and I've learned so much just from this post alone! Thanks to everyone who put up info on this thread. Now my Star Wars Battlefront plays flawless!!

Just to confirm for everyone my method/process:

DVD Decryptor - to create .iso
ISO Buster - to extract
CDVD Generator - to create .000 and .001 images
MS-DOS - to build final .iso
Nero 6 - to burn @ 2x to Benq DVD-R

Every process performed, I follewed all the instructions listed in this entire thread! Took a while and a few bad burns...but it was worth it! Thanks again to everyone.

I don't have ISO builder for you, but I suggest you use the MS-DOS method (instructions on previous posts in this thread)It wasn't hard at all...just follow the steps...it's very easy!

good luck!

Special thanks to andrew for the post, it looks like a surefire fix for almost any game that would tend to give people problems.

I did exactly as described, but in playing the Yavin and Hoth levels, I was noticing lots of random sound artifacts all over the place (sounded like watching satellite TV during a heavy storm).

I remembered that I burned that 1.8GB image at 4X, so for fun, I reburned it at 1X and voila the sound came out perfect!

...and what a game - well worth the effort - I'm hooked!

Enjoy the freedom.

This thread is amazing coz I'd just given up on these games. But there's one thing I'm still not sure about.
I read all through it. [However when I put it onto my harddrive I didn't make an iso I just copied it. But I did drop the files into CDVDgen in the correct order.]

I have the *****.000 and .001 files but I also have ***** with no extension. It has PARAR writen underneath it.

Also I have downloaded games with this exact format and not known how to make an .iso.

I still can't make an .iso but I think all I need is CDVDGen ISObuilder.

If anyone has this can you email it to me please

Hi, Ive been reading up on star wars battlefront in the forums and want to try the swapmagicfix way I use decryptor and ritek go4 with good results. Ive burnt the cogswoploader and in the options it says to use large toc dvd, can you just tell me the sequence of swoping and when to add the large toc dvd and if i use the slide card for it or just a normal eject insert...cheers Lenny

Andrew's procedure rips the game into an iso image, rebuild's the game into a new iso image, and burns the new iso image to a DVD. Does anyone know why this procedure works? What is being done during the new iso process that makes the copy work?
