I forgot to tell you that it gets all the way to the load memory card screen then after you push start to load the game it makes a bad skipping kind of sound.

If anyone knows any information concerning my issue please respond. I have a dvd-r/w burner and ps2 and have been burning dvds using dvd decryptor which is an excellent program. i sucessfully ripped a dvd and played it on my all my sony dvd players although it didnt work on my ps2. How can i make it work? Do i need a modchip? Also how can i rip ps2 games using this program or another program if anyone has suggestions? What format do ps2 games need to be decrypted into? i know there dvds but i mean do i need to put them in iso or ifo ect?

If zonelander does not support 9gig discs I might go buy a premodded DMS3 ps2 off this site www.modchipman.com

StikerZ: it sounds like either your laser or your game is dirty. Try putting in a game that is not dirty and has no scratches on it. If it works then your game needs cleaning. Otherwise try getting one of those laser cleaners and see if that doesn't fix it. Sorry if I haven't been able to post much on the forum over the last couple of days but I'm on a trip and have to use the hotel computer.

OK, i just ordered my fliptop but i dont have a dvd burner! so im wondering if a dvd-rip would work. I dont mind the loss of video and stuff, its just something i have to live with until christmas when i can get a dvdr. So im wondering if anyone has any info on this or if there is a link to a tutorial out there. Also, does anyone have a list of games that work with the fliptop and swap disks? i noticed alot are mentioned on the forum but has anyone compiled a list yet?... and finally is there a place to buy backups online? i scratched up a few copies of different games pretty bad (mainly my vice city and socom) so im wondering if i can buy a backup from some place online rather then purchasing an entire game again.(especially socom, i dont need to pay 50$ for another headset). Any info is greatly appreciated, i tried to read through the rest of the replies on this post from the beginning but there were just way to many! Thx for your help

Daniel,
First and foremost, there isn't supposed to be any discussion on this board about purchasing backups since that's illegal! Also, I don't think that 'rips' as they are called work without a modchip of some kind, although on that I could be mistaken.

Why doesn't my swap magic dvd 2.0 don't work on my PS2? I just got rid of my modchip and replace the modchip with a flip top cover. Explain why the swap magic dvd 2.0 doesn't work. Is it because the swap magic DvD 2.0 is defective? Everytime I put it in the PS2 and after the Playstation 2 logo pops oup it brings me to the browser menu. Explain why it does that?

Dvd rips will only work on a fliptop system if you also apply a 'nomod' patch.

MetalEd:
To clean your laser you need to buy one of those lens cleaner cd's that you can buy at a place like wal-mart. Also, cleaning your cd will probably be more effective than cleaning your laser. The first time I ordered the Swap Magic discs the CD one worked fine but the DVD one didn't. I tried cleaning it multiple times but it just wouldn't load so ended up just ordering another one (could of should of tried emailing the vender about returning the defective one for a working one but was too lazy to do so) and it worked fine.

Ed, try adjusting your laser. There was another user on here that had the same problem, wouldn't boot dvd's at all, even after putting the original cover back on. I told him to adjust his laser and now it works just fine.

So what exactly is the 'nomod' patch for the games? If you can point me in the direction of a tutorial or just tell me how to do it i would be appreciative. Too broke for a dvdburner at the moment but i figure i can make some dvd rips of my games.

I might not be your DVD but your laser lens. The lens may read some CD/DVD's fine but have trouble with others. In fact you should clean your lens ever so often expecialy if you have a Flip Top Cover as it is fast to get at the laser and aloso since it is more exposed it may get dirty faster.

Here are 2 links for cleaning the lens.

Hey xcuter,

I dont know about nba live but i do know a lot about madden. My original madden got so much use...(i love the game) it doesnt even work and i started using the backup quite awhile ago. I have alway been able to play online with madden, never had a problem with it. I use the sony network adapter so the usb may be causing you trouble.

With most stores, you can try it and if it still doesnt work, you could return it.

It it works, well worth the 35-40 bucks :)

Good luck
