Well lets look at what we do know. There is no actual up and running PS3, Blueray disc players cost around $1000, all the video that we have seen of the PS3 is just prerendered, and when ever someone asks sony about the release date they say it will be about by spring. If you think about it spring is a big time frame. The official first day of spring is March 20 and the first day of summer is June 21 so if sony releases the PS3 between those two dates then sony could officially say it made it out by spring.

come out and said this, only conspiritors.

Um ok when the CES convention was being held the PS3 was just an empty shell behind a glass case.

did you open it? did anyone open it? even if its empty, it doesnt mean there arnt working
ones. maybe the working ones were in testing and they just shipped a case to display
because a real one would slow testing
the reson the videos were prerendered were because they were using a simple 2.4ghz
computer, not a ps3. the videos were what the ps3 is cabable of. they had to be prerendered
because the computer they were displayed on were no where near capable of the abilities of
the ps3.

You are playing the appologist, an excellent complement to Koko's misinformation campaign.
I think it's a safe to assume the demo was pre-rendered video. If they had had anything ready to play (a smoothly functioning dev kit with and a finished game) they wold have. It's not surprizing that the combo is not ready yet, considering release will not be until November 2006. Production of a finished game takes a few weeks to produce 500,000++. A console will take a little longer to produce as many as are needed for the launch. However, I expect 2 months of production time should be enough.
Therefore, I'm not surprized there is not a game ready to play, since the target release date is still over 10 months away.

Stryfe you are very correct with what you say. That is exactly all we know of the PS3 so far and the rest is predictions.
ignor anubis, anything said against PS3 in the smallest of ways will make him flame up against you.chandlew you are also right but you will get used to this from anubis soon.
The fact is every website i have read say the PS3 was nothing but an empty shell. This must have come from some where and I believe the people who where at CES rather tan a PS3 fan boy.
Also the videos where pre-renderd. You have no other reason to believe otherwise. No one actualy played the games. The only half kind of demonstrations I got where on Unreal tournament 2007 and Fight Night Round 3 which are both coming to the 360, so have no proof of how more powerfull the PS3 is.

sometimes its hard to argue against the ps3 fan boys cos if you look at it xbox360 has been released, this means every bit of good and bad detail has been exposed so its easy to say look some 360's overheat they ae rubbish or they are very noisy, how bad. With the ps3 it hasn't been released so it's so easy to say ps3 won't be like that, it will have none of these problems.

anything i say for the ps3 u just say im a fanboy. im just saying whats been said by the ppl. the reason i fight people about the ps3 is cuz they dont know anything about it, no one really does. im not saying its good or bad, but from whats being shwn it is the dominate system to be. if they lack, then ok. those graphics were done showing hat the rsx does but in video form. much like those movie trailers you see and say "omg they are realtime" well no they are not, they are made into videos much the same way. do not ignore what is contrary to you, because that is seriously ignorant.

Every time you get backed into a corner you resort to the same line "nobody knows anything." Very philosophical, and I suppose since you know you know nothing you therefore know more than the rest of us?
It's a lame cop-out.
There are plenty of facts to work with in many veins of PS3 discussion: There is history, there is the present compliment of technology, there are market forces. Don't just flake when you get caught out on a limb.

im just wondering why you all gang up on me and do the same things u accuse me of. you all "dont say this or that" and then go and say the same thing. you say everything i say is just nothing and all lies, but its the same for you. i research my stuff and im sure all of you do. there is no reason to accuse someone of spitting sh*t when i look at valuable sources and many many sites before i affirm something. this is suppose to be a help forum not a "lets all nag on one guy and make him look like a fool" thread.

I really hope that sony does have a running ps3 right now, there show is this month! If they dont have one running by now then there is no way there gunna release it this spring! Does anybody know the date of sonys big expo this month?

it sucks that we have to wait for the devestation conference in march for ps3 details! My guess is that ps3 will run you around $500, this includes one wireless controller and a 40gb HDD (I remember reading somewhere that its gunna have a 40gb hard drive but it was awhile ago so i could be wrong). Im thinking a november launch, not fall, nothing is released in the fall if you want to sell big release it right before xmas (the november launch of the 360 made demand for it skyrocket). With the cell processor and built in blue ray i think sony has the upper hand on the hardware division over microsoft at this point, but microsoft announcing HD-DVD and Blu-ray add ons is big because by the time the ps3 is released alot of people will already own a 360 and if they want to watch HD or blu ray movies they only have to pay for the add on, not $500 for a ps3 (this is assuming that stand alone blu ray players will be very expensive when they launch this year)

Im gonna buy the PS3 instead of the Xbox360 not because 360 sucks(King Kong the game actually looks pretty sweet), but because the PS3 is not just a "gaming console", its much more. Its more like a super computer/entertainment center. Sony is introducing lots of new technology, and I am eager to try it out. Xbox360 is only good for well... playing games. Sony is still the biggest player in this game. Yeah it will be expensive, but the smart one who said its gonna cost $900 should should pull his head out of his a$$ and do some research.
BTW, why are all you 360 fanboys attacking the PS3? You already tired of your 360's?

no we are not tierd of are xbox 360's its just that people like anubis keep pointing out things like xbox 360 is doomed b/c is only has 9G, and even after we discus it they come back for more. most of the xbox 360 suporters have admitted that some things on the ps3 are better than on the xbox 360, but thats not enough for them they want to convert us properly, lol.
btw did you get the name ragnarok from a game called mech assult

i wasnt saying it completely doomed im just saying if all games become 2+ disked it will be a hastle and some people wont buy it.
and i remember an eidolon from ff9 called ragnarok, he was also a boss in that one castle in the desert. i liked it.

while it is true that we have not seen a working ps3 yet, i wouldnt be so unsure. We do
know that sony has bluray, and is probably capable of making a ps3, or at least with the
capabilities of the ps3. BUT i have new news that brought me back to this hopeles link.
I guy i know who works for sony (mostly in HDTVs.... not ps3s) said that y-day (now 2
days ago i guess) that he was in a conf.call 'bout PS3s & confirmed that
a-the ps3 WILL BE 1080P yes, P. there was some speculation about this
earlier. Also, we will be seeing a working PS3 hoooked up to a SXRD HDTV (his end of the
deal) "Soon"
i dont kn ow exactly what "soon" was, he wont tell, dont ask
why does everyone around here have to be senseless?

One major factor that sony lacks intirely is a good online system! What Microsoft did with xbox live is very innovative, very smart, and it works very well! This is one major factor that alot of consumers will look at when it comes time to decide between buying a 360 or a ps3. I myself will most likely own both, but if i had to choose online play would be something i would look at. Also, im glad that Unreal Tournament 2007 may launch with the ps3, sony needs a strong launch lineup like microsoft had.

Microsoft had a pitiful launch lineup for the Xbox360. And yes Sony already has a phenominal launch lineup. Warhawk, Project IM, Devil May Cry 4, Lair, Vision Gran Turismo, and my personal favorite, Metal Gear Solid 4 just to name a few.
Sony wasn't into online gaming as much as Xbox, but:
1)Sony's online service was free
2)The Socom series were and still are the most played console game online.
3)Sony will be focusing more on online play with the PS3, so no worries.

anubis. it seems like everyone (and espesialy me) pick on you, bu its becuase you dont reseach (like you suggest you do) on both systems, just your presiouse PS3. STOP with the 2 disc thing please, iam dying here.
I can see where anubis is coming from with Linux, and fair enough to him but he is in the minority. I have been working in a large elctrical store for over a weak and attended to 60+ customers so far. Everythime they look at a TV or computer they want the most simple to use for exactly what it does. This is with 90% of the customers and the people that have been working there for over 16 years all tell me the same.
I like computers but I like my console for its ease of use. This is how and why xbox live has the upper hand on the Sony PS3 if it has a plain normal OS.

There's talk of m$ bringing out a blue ray attachment instead of HD if HD fails to become the chosen media for movies. Some pple say m$ will use the new HD/blue ray attachment for games but I am 95% sure they won't because firstly m$ has specificaly said it will be used for movies and secondly I believe dvd9 to be just sufficient for this generation. But this brings me on too another question, if HD ends up being the chosen media for movies then wouldn't that mean ps3 owners having to buy a HD attachment for movies also? Also I know this has nothing to do with ps3, but theres soo little info on it, worms is coming out for 360 arcade how kewl is that guna be. Oh and commenting on the launch line up of 360, PDZ- got 8 or above, kameo-got 8 or above, PGR3- got 8 or above, condemed-got 8, COD-got 8 or above this is not including the sports games that I can't be bothered to check out and unfortunatly morrowind got delayed but overall I would say thats an impressive launch line up and if you look back in history I have never seen so many high scoring games in a launch, with ps3 launch only time will tell but remember that games can be delayed.
