Update.
Extreme disappointment after bricking my TA-082 which was working perfectly with HenD & DevHook 0.52
Smile back on my face....sort of.
Rang Sony UK. 0870-599 8877. Told them i was attempting to update to their latest FW using memory stick. They asked me a few routine questions, including serial number of battery & unit.
Then without any further questions, offered to replace (within 48 hours) my PSP with an official Sony reconditioned unit of same model and similar age (my unit is 3 wks old).
It will be couriered in person to me (at work). They take back the unit & charger. No receipt, box, books etc required.
No doubut this replacement unit will be with Sony's latest FW 3.03.
At least this is better than having a black paperweight!
So u bricked people in the UK...there is hope!

YESS after editing this post about 3 times. I have solved my problems myself. but one question i have for sure. Do I format my MS when I am done?

dumb question - I'm to the part where you have to manually restart the PSP when installing 302A...how do I do that? I turn the PSP off and on, but the same screen is still there telling me that I have to restart.

I have a problem!!!
I managed to downgrade my 2.80 TA-082 PSP and then update tp 3.02 OE-B.
I put a game in the ISO folder and when i'm trying to load it the psp FREEZE on the PSP logo (white background)
What shold i do?

Ok, so all I do to get OE-B with my TA-082 is downgrade to 1.5, update to OE-A, then update to OE-B?...I want to be REALLY sure so I don't brick my PSP.....

Ok I finally decided to downgrade my PSP 2.71 TA-082 and and succesfully did it. Thanks for the guide and all the other people that helped make other guides and the actual downgrader. I have one question though... how do I play my ISO's?? Do I need DevHook for this?? I tried making a ISO folder and put a game in there but it wont show on my PSP.. I put in a UMD disk and it shows the UMD disk game and not the game I have in the ISO folder

if you are on 1.5 you will need devhook or upgrade your psp to 3.02 OE-A/B to play without devhook then if you wish you can go to 3.03 OE

Greetings all,
I've recently downgraded my TA-082 psp. (v2.6 > v2.71 > v1.5)
I was wondering;
1: After downgrading to 1.5, can I format my psp?
2: Do I need the hend in x:/PSP/PHOTO, to upgrade to 3.02OE-A/B?
3: If I install 3.02OE-A/B, do I need the devhook + multi thing?
4: If installed 3.02OE-A/B, what can I delete?
5: Is 3.020E-B for everyone?
Sorry all for the noob questions, everyone's been pretty vague in many posts and I just wanna be sure..

I would like to follow up some questions.
If you are at 3.03 OE how do you load an ISO?
Is it still through devhook or what?
I have put an ISO in my ISO folder and see nothing to load.
Is there a loader or somthing?

Adding to my earlier point about Sony replacing my bricked PSP:
Signed, sealed and delivered.
Sony UK delivered to me today by courier a seemingly new PSP (3.03FW) and charger. They took back my bricked PSP (TA-082) and charger. Best of all, the replacement PSP is a PSP1003 (non TA-82).
Now all I have to do is wait for Dark Alex to make a 3.03 downgrader!
So...to all of you who have bricked your PSP's whilst trying to upgrade ...call the Sony UK support line. Tell them you've had a failure when attempting to update to their official 3.03. They will replace it! They will replace if the unit is still under warranty (no proof of purchase required!)

You can only try it mate with Sony....... what have you got to lose!?

My choices were this:
1. sit around with a very shiny but bricked PSP now used as a paper weight.
2. sit around with a working PSP 3.03, and wait for a working downgrader. for no extra cost.
I chose option 2.

So what i can still send it to sony? they will send me a replacement, cuz ive opened my psp up and changed the case....

Sorry to hear about some of the brick cases here and there..
Thanks go out to touran22 and euro_stylz for compiling and making the steps clear for all forum brothers here to follow and use. Basically, read and follow the steps outlined and there shouldn't be any problem at all.
Lastly, would like to thank kealvalro as well for his great job in keeping the other thread alive of using hend and devhook as that was what kept the ta-082 toast crispy before this came along. Many thanks to all who have helped again, this new development has turned 2.71 into a much sought after set now I guess.

this totally worked for me
i had a ta-082 2.71 out of the box. installed Hen-D, downgraded to 1.5, upgraded to 3.02oea, upgraded to 3.02 oeb (and i might now go up to 3.03)
awesome work all!
got a PS3 on 11/20/06, returned it on 12/17/06
PSP: TA-082: 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.02 OEA > 3.02 OEB

upgrading to 3.02OE-B has worked perfectly fine for me. just one simple question. will it be possible to play FFVIII? cause you know how they need 4 discs to beat the game. what do i have to do?

just look where devhook used to be and you iso should be there
and no you dont need devhook
