I have cleared my harddrive and have 30 gb free space. what am i doing wrong. i have also deleted and d/l rawdump three times from different sites to ensure a proper copy.
this has just happened again prior to this post stopping at the same spot again...?
how do i correct it. thankyou.
What operating system are you using? Could be an issue if your still using Windows 98.
Do you have the Netframework 2.0 installed? or higher if you have XP or Vista installed.

I don't know if using Rawdump 2.1 will be any better for you or not, depending what the problem is.
I am using windows xp, and yes i do have netframework 2.0 installed and updated. have quickly looked at rawdump 2.1, is it still experimental or in use and verified software?
but where do you dump the files? is it on NTFS or FAT32? e.g. external drive.
Fat32. internal c drive.
That explains your problem...
FAT32 can't handle files over 4GB. YOu need to use NTFS drive.
Ah no worries. Cheers for that. Now one other thing, what is required to change from fat32 to ntfs? just software or new drive altogether...?

It is just the tool within Windows XP that will convert from FAT32 to NTFS.

To be on the safe side I would backup anything important first.
It should go smoothly, but one never can be too sure.

You should backup anything important as stated above and then download EASEus partitioner (You can download it here and open it, select the drive, then format it to NTFS. There you go ;P

stopped again at 8 minutes.
i have uninstalled .net framework 2.0 and reinstalled it. will try to dump another game and see how i go.

You can play backup and import Wii games without a modchip, WITHOUT using the Zelda hack, using SPAM!

There is a couple methods to back up wii games.

This one does require the LG drive - link

And this one is done with homebrew over wifi - link

I keep getting an error of "The archive is in either unknow format or damaged." when I try to extract it in WinRAR. The file size is correct, 4,699,979,776.

How can I extract it so I can burn the ISO?

That is the ISO already, you don't need to extract it.

Just burn it with imgburn.

First open Winrar
Go to Options, SEttings, File Integration
Then untick ISO

Your image should then show up properly as an ISO image.

Can someone help me? I have been trying to burn Mario Party on a memorex dvd-rw disc using Imgburn and Nero. I have tried burning at 2x, 4x, 6x, and 8x, (burner won't burn 1x) and when I put the game in using gamma it will start trying to load the game and it will load but it is black and white and the screen is constantly jumping making the game unplayable. It almost looks like a broken old fashion t.v. the way the image keeps jumping. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You need a DVD-R disc, not a -RW

I think you need to set the Force NTSC or Force PAL in the settings on the gamma loader.

Its one of those, I am not sure as only burn my own region in games.

I have been using gamma I don't think it has a force option although when I tried back up loader and used the varying forces options on one it wouldn't play at all and the other it did the skipping thing.

I juat bought an external GDR-8164B off of ebay. I am having the hardest time trying to get it to work. I have tried it on XP and vista. I have tried to find drivers with no luck. I have tried to update the firmware and I get the error, this program cant be used on the selected device. I have tried different USB cables. I even recieved another GDR-8164B from seller at ebay because I thought there was a problem with the first DVD drive but both have the same problems or errors. In my computer it shows my e drive as the DVD rom, but it just shows DVD not GDR-8164B, then when I go to the device manager it does not even show up under the cd.dvds. I have tried imgburn and rawdump. Both do not see the GDR-8164B. The drive is in an enclosure and uses USB, again both my xp and vista laptops do not see besides in my computer. Please help or if possible point me in the right direction. I have looked all over for a solution and can not find one.

THANKS in advance!!

The answer is quite easy. The usb to ide bridge in the external case is the reason, why your drive does not show up with the correct vendor name.

I once had the same problem, the program I use to make backups from my originals (hektosoft hektograph) could not find my drive as well.
I just showed up with the wrong name.

The solution is easy: Remove the drive from the case and connect it directly to the ide of your mainboard (master position with no 2nd drive attached to the same cable).

Then hektosoft hektograph as well as rawdump should detect your GDR-8164B and let you make backups.

It depends...

On a softmodded wii your aanswer is correct.
On a wii with a modchip (i.e. yaosm) you can
also use -rw.

I call BS on that.

I have yet to see any documented evidence of any consistent success using a DVD RW disc in a Wii. The Wii optical drive is particular enough with write once DVDs.

I have never used the Yaosm modchip but considering that modchips don't affect the way that the laser reads the disc, I would doubt that the results would be any different than with my Wiikey, Wiikey2, or D2Pro.

I can assure you that my wii perfectly accepts my DVD-RW disks with yaosm.

Yaosm disguises the true DVD-Booktype of the medium.
That is the reason why it makes the difference.
On the other hand it is well known that certain
wii drives are of poor laser quality so that they even do
not work with SSBB (DL disk). Such drives ma not work as
well with RW disk.

I cannot refute your results, but remain skeptical. I am only reporting my actual experience and that of others. It is also my understanding that the reason RWs cannot be read is not the booktyping but the physical difference between DVD write once and DVD-RW.

BTW, In my time on this forum I have seen no reports of PC software that can dump Wii disks other than rawdump and friidump.

Can we have a link to this "miracle" software? Googling on "hektsoft" and/or "hektograph" produces no results.

Well, it´s a comercial product. That may be the reason that
it is not as popular as a freeware like friidump or as a
tool like rawdump which is financed by the add from
the wiinja producers.

Anyway I found the eval version avalable for download at
http://www.hektosoft.com/dateien/Hektoso...uation-v1.0.zip
So now you can give it a try.

Hello evryone,

Maybe I haven't looked everywhere but I couldn't find the answer to the following problem:
I have an European Wii modded with the Wiikey2. My Wii is version 3.1E
For some reason some games only give me the black screen when starting them, but others work completly fine. I haven't been able to find the problem....
Could it be region related? Because I have used Wiu 1.1 ánd Wiifrii but both patchers don't solve the black screen.... Besides; my latest attempt was with a PAL game and not NTSC...

Does anyone have a clue?

I burn with imgburn at 4x and use Verbatim dvd-r (but that can't be the prob since others do work)

Thank you in advance,

Ramza

PS i am not making us of any kind of homebrew app's and I was hoping that won't be neccesary...

These games are missing certain IOS.
Obviously your Images are missing the system update area which is ripped out in most downloads. Get your original and make a new backup that includes the update area or figure out which IOS you are missing and install it manually.
