we'll unless your motherboard is compatible then its not required....
aslong as you have compatible sata ports on the motherboard..then your good to go...but most computers do, my sata ports will flash hitachi's but not Samsungs..
hitachi's can be flashed through usb though...
samsungs require some type of sata...either card or mobo

yeah i was trying to flash the drive. i have been thinking, would this work if i burned the slax on a dual layer disk and tryed again. maybe my drive does not like cdrs i put the slax in my pc and it booted fine but it wont boot my pc thru the xbox drive. it only worked the first time and i jacked it up midway thru.now all it says is invald boot replace system disk and hit enter no matter what i do it will not boot. but the drive works fine as a regulator xbox 360 drive.oh and i have a hitachi 59 drive, long story short im trying to get into mode b

the Slax Disc goes inside of the PC Drive not the the Xbox360 Drive...
:)
you turn on your PC put your slax disc in and then turn on the xbox...
with the sata/usb connected..probably sata for you..
it will then put your drive in modeB

at the login screen press the eject button on the xbox360 dvd drive..
it should take 2 presses to open or close...if it dont take 2 presses then its not in modeB..
also after you close it,it will open back up if its in modeB.

make sure the X-LG folder is on the Root of your C Drive on your computer...
so
C:/X-LG
also if your running windows xp then a good program to use is powertoy for windows xp...all you have to do is right click the X-LG folder and click open in commmand prompt. then type flashix.bat G 4# of your choice

I am getting ready to flash my 360 w/ ixtreme1.2. And am having a few problems. I couldnt find where to disable raid and enable sata anywhere in my Bios menu. (Have 4 mobo sata ports) But am using Via VT6421 Raid controller card to flash.
Also when I boot from usb w/ iprep, it doesnt go into dos mode. Its just a black screen with a blinking dot in top left corner.
Any Ideas, is there a way to make a boot disk to flash fw?
xbox360:
TS-H943A
FW: MS25
