Not only can it unbrick your psp-it can make smoothies too...

I would have a look at the first page of this thread on how to use it...Basically you just fire it up, and select whichever flavor of pandora you like, and problem solved..

Well to be honest bro I'm not sure. I have never tried that and don't recall of the top of my head if it has ever been written that it does/doesn't. I don't even know if a Slim Bat will fit in a Phat. LOL I'll tell ya what, I have a neighbor who now has a Slim that I put CFW on for him. I will try later and let you know. I'm busy now but will get to it when I see him later tonight.
thank you sir for the info. i'll be waiting for your update. i'm really hesitant to try to install a cfw on phat psp using a slim battery. c",)

Well it doesn't work bro. The Slim Battery has different guides at the bottom of it. I don't own a slim to try it I borrowed my neighbors. It just doesn't fit in because of these guides. Now it may be possible if you were to cut the guides off. Sorry if I owned a slim battery I would try for ya, but as I said it is my neighbors so I can't mod it to test. Best thing I can suggest is buy an extra Phat battery. Well let me know how you get on with things.

Be sure to check the links in my sig for our new release "UPMS Sapphire" possibly coming today.

UPMS V3 Sapphire has just been released.

This new version allows writing of the IPL to Memory Stick while using 3.80M33 and 3.90M33, also added is a format option for fake memory sticks.

DC3, DC4 as well as the original Hellcat & TheJoker.

NandManager has been added to Ultimate Loaders tools menu for quick access.

Battery gives realtime updates now.

Slim menu has both DC3 and DC4 showing now.

I am trying to unbrick my phat PSP.

I have created the Battery and the Magic Memory Stick.

I then insert the memstick first and hold down L, then I insert the Pandora's Battery.

Nothing happens so I continue to hold down the L button. I hold it for a few minutes and nothing still happens, I then leave the PSP for 10 minutes come back and it is still doing the same thing. The Memory stick and wifi lights are flashing and the power light is continually on. Nothing is still happening so I proceed to make another Magic Memory stick using my 1GB card. I install the files and put it into the PSP but it is the same as before.

When installing the memory stick the first time I picked sleep fix multi ipl option, on my second go I picked the second option in that menu.

Can you guys help me and tell me what is wrong as my PSP will still nut turn on.

If you are getting both Memory Stick and Wifi lights flashing your IPL has not installed correctly, which means you are either using a fake memory stick or 3.80M33+ or both to create the Pandora.

If you are using Emerald to create it then it will not work, but you can now download Sapphire and this will work.

You will need to complete the install procedure fully and follow the readme's to the letter, or it could result in some functions not working on the PSP or worst even a brick.

I am using a fake memory stick although I did not know that this would make a difference. Will I have to get a real memory stick to do this? What do you mean by Sapphire? Also the PSP I used to create the Pandora's memory stick and battery has to be given back to my friend tomorrow. Is there anyway of creating a magic memory stick without a PSP as I already made the battery so I am assuming that all I need is a magic memory stick, also I use Windows Vista so I know that some programs will not work.

Sorry if there seem to be a lot of questions but I am really desperate.

^^If you dont have a psp running custom firmware-you are not going to be able to use the UPMS installer-period. In order to get a memory stick set up, you will need to run one of the various installers that have you format your memory stick via the pc..Have a look at the front page of this forum, there are a few options for making a memory stick from your computer that are stickied.

Sapphire is the latest release from UPMS-Project, it will install a fully working 1.5FW to the memory stick as well as DC3 and DC4, format a fake memory stick so you can write the IPL successfully on all firmwares inc. 3.80M33 & 3.90M33, but will only work on a PSP with custom firmware.

Hello Every Body,
I hope you remind when i first came here and said I would buy a new PSP Slim and I was asking your help to install homebrew on it throughout my own making Pandora and U.P.M.S. since I had a PHAT PSP. So now I am coming to leave my report about it. It DID work perfectly. There was only one issue in the starting that it could not boot in normal step. What I had to do was:
1 - turn off PSP
2 - Remove Slim Battery
3 - Insert U.P.M.S memory stick
4 - TURN HOLD ON*
5 - triggle L
6 - Insert Pandora Battery
7 - Release L and Turn HOLD off gently

That's it. I had tried few times whith the steps given but without success when I tried this 1 -6 stes so it worked instantly

I WANTED TO THANK PRETTY MUCH FOR ALL THE HELP. NONE COULD HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED WITHOUT YOU ALL....

Yes, it can downgrade any firmware to date-However...You need custom firmware already installed on your psp in order to run the UPMS program that creates the battery and memory stick- So if your psp is currently running 3.80, you are SOL...You will have to find an alternative to getting your psp downgraded-Perhaps a friend with a psp running custom firmware can help you? Or you can buy a ready-made pandora rig also..Like a Datel battery.

good thing you updated dEEz. i hate using two separate memory stick to update. one with the u.p.m.s. and the other with the 3.80/3.90 m33 update. now it's all in one again.

this thread needs to be stickied.

No sorry Ady, this won't help you out with your PSP, I think you'll have to try and get another mobo from ebay, found out the other day that work has stopped on trying to regen IDStorage keys.

"also added is a format option for fake memory sticks. " <-- when you say format option, what does it mean exactly? I mean i have a fake memory stick which is 4gb, and it works well. but what i don't understand is, will it "better" the performance of my fake memory stick? i appreciate the help.

That feature was added for folks who were having trouble writing the IPL to the memory stick in order for a pandora setup to work on it..You can try using that format function-but if like you said, you are not having issues with your memory stick-Then I would leave it be. I doubt it will improve the performance of your memory stick at all.

In case anyone was wondering what the MUX 2.1 is, or how to use it-
MUX essentially creates multiple copies of your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder for those of you who want to back up multiple update folders from different custom firmwares-Such as the new 3.90M33, along with the 1.50 kernel patch for 3.90.

Heres how to add the 3.90M33+1.50 kernel patch update to your UPMS rig:
-download 3.90M33 Update, Official 3.90 FW, and 1.50 kernel patch
- Connect your psp with UPMS inserted to your computer via USB
- Navigate to the PSP/GAME/MUX21 folder
- Inside you will find folders labled as follows: UPDATE_1,UPDATE_2,and so on..
- Copy the contents of the 3.90M33Update folder you downloaded (the eboot only-not the UPDATE folder itself) to PSP/GAME/MUX21/UPDATE_1
- Rename the Official 3.90 update you downloaded to '390.PBP', and place that also in the PSP/GAME/MUX21/UPDATE_1 folder
- Copy the contents of the 150k_addon folder you downloaded (the four files only) and place those in the PSP/GAME/MUX21/UPDATE_2 folder.
- Disconnect the USB connection
- Start up the MUX 2.1 app under the GAME menu in XMB
- Now you should see the listing of the UPDATE folders
- Position the X to the UPDATE 1 spot
- Press O to label or rename the spot to 3.90M33 Update
- When you are done labeling press O to save it, and return to the main listing
- With the X positioned on the UPDATE 1 spot, go ahead and press X to 'aktivate' UPDATE X as UPDATE-your files are now in the right place on your memory stick for updating to 3.90M33
- Now position the X to the UPDATE 2 spot
- Press O to label that one as 1.50 Kernel Add on
- Press O to save when done labeling
- With the X positioned on the UPDATE 2 spot, go ahead and press [](square) to 'aktivate' UPDATE X as GAME-your files are now in the right place on your memory stick for the 1.50 kernel add-on

-This is especially nice for those of us who were swapping memory sticks because as you know you can only have one update folder on your memory stick...So as custom firmware updates become available, they can just be dropped into one of the UPDATE folders via MUX..

I had a little problem with holding the L button, placing battery in etc. part. But instead on putting the switch on HOLD, I put it in the MIDDLE and BOOM it booted to the menu

The UPMS installer can be run from either 3.80M33, or 3.90M33 firmwares and will get you back on track-
