Only if you have a PSP that has custom firmware on it. If you one PSP that's on official firmware then this method is your only way or you'll have to buy/borrow one.

You sound like a kid saying, "them hards words"
Anyways, this guide isn't really a place to talk about bricks. This guide is to help you un-brick and downgrade. Anyways, bricking can be caused in lots of ways, but I'll just name one.
Flashing firmware version.
When flashing official firmware, you're safe.
If you downgrade, then small chance of bricking.
If you're flashing into custom firmware then again, small chance of bricking.
Most people close while flashing and causes a brick, which is stupid.
I'll tell you why it bricks.
When flashing, your flash0 gets removed then adds new flash to it. But if you close your PSP when flashing, then it'll brick because the new part of the flash you just placed into your flash0 doesn't go right with the old flash and the old flash hasn't been overwrite so brick!
Do you understand? If not, then just remember when upgrading/downgrading(flashing) then DON'T close your PSP.

Besides, this is an Unbricker/downgrader, so even if you brick, you are not screwed.

You can, but you'd need to take the battery out, plug the psp in, turn it on, then put the battery in.

Google could've linked you to around 50 guides or more about the Pandora's Battery.
If you have a CFW enabled PSP, then this guide should help you. It helped me.

Ok, I used the TNEI and believe it worked. In usb mode the MS shows, Pandora Bat Firm installer, Pandora battery creator, and than two files that say corrupted data. Is this ok? I am heading out to pickup a spare battery.
