All I can suggest is follow the trouble shooting part of the guide. If you still can't get it to work then there is really nothing else I can offer.

You asked this same question on page 4.

Troubleshooting- if something is corrupt, what does that tell you.
There is something wrong with the files.

You may need to download again, or your extraction went wrong. Or you may need to format your memory stick again.

So you need to check all those things.

So instead of posting in this thread, you should have done a search for corrupted files on psp, etc so you can learn what to do.

Not only what smokyrain said above I tend to ignore questions that have no information added to it. I hate it when users ask a question and never give details on what they are working with. Like what type of PSP you have. What firmware is on it. Is it Offical or Custom firmware. Etc. Etc. Etc.

You can not use any of the applications anyway till you get custom firmware installed on the PSP. SO follow the guide to install custom firmware using official firmware PSP.

Skimming through the guide is half the problem with users. Instead of skimming through it why not take your time and read it all the way through (especially the Pandora Battery section) then you will have your answer.

Ok Larrylje, I could not get the MMS and pandora battery to work using your guide, I dont know but I think its the Memory stick I am using, so I ordered the Pandora Tool and MMS it worked right away. Now I am very curious as to why you just can't copy and paste the info from one stick to the other. I know it has to do with changing the file system to fat32 but I dont know why this must be done.

I am really trying to understand the whole thing and if you or anyone can discuss the reasons why the prep work is necessary on the memory stick I think that will help me tremendously.

Thanks in advance, the guide is very helpful and I am understanding more and more why you and others get frustrated with the "help me please" questions

Under the Official firmware Pandora battery section it clearly answers your question.

I think you missed Larrylje point when he told you that you needed to install the custom firmware first.

You can't just copy the files to psp then go to the game menu and expect to have them work.

Make your magic memory stick, have your pandora battery ready and then follow this part of the guide.

You would of course use the first option to install custom firmware.

Do you now see what larrylje means, that everything is in the guide and one should not have to point it out over and over.

And I know I will be in trouble for doing this, but it is so obvious I can't help myself.

Once that is done, you now go to the UPDATES and ADD-Ons section of the guide.

You will get the same answer as the multiple other previous users asking this question got. Read the trouble shooting part of the guide.

All issues are covered under it.

If I am asking the this question in the wrong forum will someone please let me know. I really would like to the reason why the memory stick has to be prepped first before it can work for your guide. I have tried to copy and paste a working MMS to another stick and it does not work. Just wondering what happens during the prep that allows it to work. Again if I am asking this in the wrong place would some one be so kind as to let me know. Thanks

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd

Thanks Larrylje for directing me to this sticky.

Seems easy enough. Looking forward to giving it a try. Read all the posts.

I have a slim running OFW 4.01 . . . how do I know if it has the new motherboard that can't be flashed at this time using Pandora & MMS? Do all slims with OFW 4.00+ have the new mobo?

I bought 4 new PSPs about 1 month ago (seems like a waste of money, I'll be giving them out as gifts,) and they all have OFW 4.05 They are all TA-088 V2, they only boot if If I use DC7. You can't really tell what kind of mobo you have until you try to boot using Pandora. I believe you have a TA-088 V2, if you can't boot using UUV3 use DC7. Have you upgraded the FW with a game or is that the FW it came with when you bought it? I believe you have a V2, any PSP that contains 4.05 can either be V2 or V3. I was fortunate they were all V2 but I believe you have a V2. Use pandora then you'll know for sure.

Locobrown,
awesome answer bro. Appreciate it. I agree then. ta-088 v2 likely. It's 4.01 off the shelf. no upgrade to the OFW yet. Bought 2 days ago. Cool. Will start to go through the steps then.

Giving out psp's as gifts. . . . NICE.
