I have a memory stick and a computer to put it into. I also have a canon camera that will take the same memory card. I dont mean to seem slow but what guide ? where is it ? Could you direct me to the link ?Is there not something out there that I can just download onto my memory card right off the web than stick into my fully bricked psp ? Thank you for any help anybody can offer.

most likely you're on official firmware. in no way does the guide say to run the creator on official firmware.

you either buy the datel tool battery or hardmod your current battery. you do not get the easy route, unless you have 1.50 or custom firmware.

@tbonezap,
There are two methods. Use a CFW enabled PSP or create it manually using DC1. A homebrew program called "Pandora Installer" by Hellcat can format and also inject the IPL code onto the card in addition giving you the ability to softmod a regular battery converting it into a Pandora battery and writing DC files. Note: You need a CFW PSP, since you don't know anyone who has one this method may not apply to you, but its of great benefit to do some research about this app to gain an understanding of alternate methods of doing things.

From a PC, you can use "PSP Pandora Deluxe v2.8" it does the very same thing that Hellcat's app is able to do, but this gives you the option of using various DC versions an CFW's. You need either a Sony camera, card reader or another PSP in order to use Pandora Deluxe.

I would recommend you use this guide found on page 1, its straight forward and easy to understand. Those other two methods that I mentioned can be overwhelming especially if frustration is a factor.

I figured out how to modify my sony battery. It does get me into a service mode. I mean the light turns on and stays green.(the screen is still black.) I did follow the guide, wich was layed out nicely. I did get my psp from a friend and its a few years old. I know its never been modified. I am not sure what type of firmware I have on it. I thank everybody who has been responding to me. I know I am a newbie and us newbies sometimes need a little more love.

I've been reading through this post and i've noticed someone with the exact problem i have. Basically when inserting the Pandora Battery and memory card the green light appears with no screen being displayed. I'm thinking that the Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo "Mark 2" is incompatible with this guide. Maybe sony were trying to resolve this with newer memory cards. I'm gonna have a look tonight to see if i can find an older card to test this theory. Wish me luck :)

I recommend you use a 1GB Sony ProDuo. I believe you weren't able to write the IPL code onto the card. If you transfered the files correctly onto the card it should boot into the CFW menu. You got the files, but it doesn't boot then its an IPL issue. It doesn't matter what firmware version you have. Pandora will work unless you have a full brick or a V3.

Hi, I have read through all the articles but still can't figure out why...

please help.

I have a RED OFW 3.95 and already install the MMS on it. But i can't install the pandora battery.
I have another CFW 4.01 m33-2 PSP. So how do I use this PSP to convert the RED OFW3.95 Battery into a Pandora Battery?

Read the guide. If the steps still do not work read the trouble shooting section to figure out why.

Newer slim batteries cannot be converted into a Pandora battery. The troubleshoot section of the guide states this. Just use the battery you used to mod your first psp and any others that follow continue to use the same battery.

Most of us have FAT PSPs and we use that battery to mod our slims or had to buy a pre-made pack. How were you able to mod that one in the first place? You shouldn't have any difficultly flashing others unless its a V3. Use the formula that works best for you, why change?

I'm brand new here. I just discovered the idea of the SNES et al ROMS last week. I've been looking all over, trying to understand everything about Dark Alex and the bricking. I found my way to the Universal Guide. I downloaded the program. I tried it on my Vista 64 computer and it failed. So I brought it to my wife's Inspiron with XP. I followed the directions. I did the installation of #4 and got the Pandora program on my Memory Stick and I can see the program from the PSP Memory Menu.

Problem: Every program in the Game Stick Menu is reading corrupt. "This game cannot be started. The data is corrupt." is what I see for both Pandora Programs. Now I was getting that error with every home brew, but this is the first time the game memory stick option shows stuff without looking to the video area and then back to the game area so I know I'm getting closer.

The stick is a Sony, Memoery Stick Pro Dou 2GB and also has the word Magic Gate on it. On the back of the chip it says

MSX-M2GS
J601L1L
LUBD2000000.

The PSP is the white Darth Vader Edition, PSP 2001, Battery S110. Original Firmware was 2.5 or 2.8 Current Firmware 5.01, Network Update 3.8.

The battery is an unmodified (as of yet) Sony 3.6 1200mAh stock battery.

Help. I did not want to wade through all 66 pages of responses to your guide.

I'm wondering if the problem is with the card? Should I buy the $7 pandora from pandorasales? Do I need to spend $27 on their 512K card and pandora battery? What should I do next?

Professor, if our country uses the average person standard instead of the reasonable person standard, in this case I gotta say, some times you gotta protect the dumb.

You need a Pandora battery. There is no work around to this you need that battery. If you have a spare you can try to mod it, but some can't be converted, so your best bet is to buy a pre-made.

Non-official eboots will never work and homebrew most definitely will not until you flash your PSP with CFW using a Pandora battery. This is the whole purpose of this guide. Re-read it thoroughly and you will discover that you need to flash CFW first.

If you were to read the previous posts within this thread you would of discovered the answer to your question.

I bought a Datel Tool Battery, and it worked just like a Pandora. I successfully flashed my Slim PSP to CFW 4.01 M33.
Took it to college and flashed about 10 PSPs including friends and teachers. Maybe I should start charging LOL.

Hi, all you need is a Pandora battery. Either HARD MOD your battery and it into one[all you need to do is open it and cut one metal thingy], or BUY a pre-made one like Datel Tool Battery[about $10 to $20] or one from those modchip stores online.
To make the Magic Memory Stick, download and use Pandora Deluxe 2.8

If you have advice that includes a different program to use then create your own guide. Don't come to someone else's guide and start telling them to use other programs that are not included in the guide. It will just confuse those that have questions. Plus the guide has all the information needed if users just took the time to follow the directions.

@GuerillaX,
Don't even think about charging people. CFW is made available free of charge from the developers don't even ponder that possibility. That will only promote bad rep especially at school. If you become identified among your peers as a modder, it can lead to grand consequences. Legal action can be brought against you as the claim can be presented that you promote and induce piracy. Its something to think about.

Making references to other programs that achieve the same result can be made only if, I mean ONLY if the member whom is asking is having trouble with the UUV3 program. The post should be specifically directed to the member and not be posted in general terms. A direct post like this one. I'm directing this post with a @GuerillaX. Posting broad responses can lead others to become confused.

I have made references to other programs, but I have never encouraged members to use them. I've encouraged their use only as a last resort, but never strayed from the guide and that's what you must do as well. This is only to avoid confusion because repetitive questions seem to be piling up. It's all good, just to let you know. Share the knowledge with others, but don't confuse people in the process.

@darkzen

You can't run any homebrew applications or games off a MS on OFW. You will need to flash you PSP with CFW using this Pandora guide.
What are you confused about regarding Pandora?

when i tried to install them it always said...

"the game could not be started
Data is corrupted"
