Amazing guide, thanks Larry. :)
Only suggestion I would make is not to scare people away from using BootMii - it's very safe and has saved many a newbie's butt by allowing them to restore their system even when seems completely bricked.
It didn't stop me installing any cIOS.

I never said to not install BootMii I said that users had issues when installing a cIOS after installing BootMii. So do that later after the cIOS is installed.

I been quite confused with all of this. I finished all the steps but I barely use the wii and even though I'm quite good at following directions I don't want to mess this up.
If I want to load isos from my SD chip how do I do this? Can I use it with the guide that is posted here or do I have to follow additional steps?
Sorry I'm normally not this much of a newbie but since the word SD is too small to search it's hard to find results about it.

Hi everybody,
First of all, I'd like to thank larrylje for making such a great guide.
I was hoping someone could help me with this issue I've been having.
I've followed your guide step by step but I haven't been able to play any backups so far, and I've tried with two different games. There's obviously something I'm not doing right and I can't seem to put my finger on it.
I've burned several copies of the same game using cheap Dynex media (from Best-Buy). I've tried both DVD+R and DVD-R and I've experimented with different burning speeds as well. 1x, 2x, 8x
After pressing the Start button the Backup Loader Channel, the screen simply goes blank and I can hear the disc drive spinning with a repetitive sound. After observing the screen, I notice that a message in white appears in the middle of the screen, but only for a split second. This repeats over and over again...
I want to pinpoint the problem. One source was telling me it was preferable to burn at lower speeds and I was told the opposite from another source. I understand that it's probably different from one media to another.
Can anyone out there help me?

Hi larry, just wanted to share with you something i saw w/ my cousins wii. coz his unit can play back-ups w/o any back up loaders or homebrew channel,it plays directly on the original channel it works like a hard modded wii but when i opened it there's no chip inside. he had it softmodded somewhere and when he showed me his version is 4.0u and he told me they didnt open his unit and they did it in front of him,any ideas what programs or new loaders they used tp let back-up games work on the original channel? thanks and welcome back.

i have to do all guide again...to do this, i have to delete any file?

sorry for borring u guys
best regards
I don't think anything is wrong with ur wii, it is the burn process that is the mistake i guess, even i had got a similar message when i wrote resident evil on a differnt booktype. As i know u need to use some specific booktype DVD -R(use img burn software). Right now i am using sony discs for which i did not need to set any bootype.. google around u will get it.

The Backup Launcher channel is there if you installed wg3g002fix.wad through WAD Manager. You can uninstall it again through WAD Manager (you must have the wg3g002fix.wad file in the wad folder on your SD card). After uninstalling, you can delete wg3g002fix.wad from your SD card.
Very recently Larry updated the guide and softmod pack and replaced wg3g002fix.wad with NeoGammaR6-NGBL.wad.
All you have to do to install NeoGamma is download the softmod pack again, extract NeoGammaR6-NGBL.wad from the wad folder and place it in the wad folder on your SD card. Then run WAD Manager and install NeoGammaR6-NGBL.wad.

You're lucky if you downloaded the file because mediafire isn't working for me either today. I'll try again later.
The file you want is in the wad folder in the rar file you downloaded. It's a .wad file (NeoGammaR6-NGBL.wad) not a .dol.

If you read the complete guide you would notice at the end I have linked to a guide on how to boot games from normal disc channel.
@ricey1986
There is no need to redo anything. Just install NeoGammaR6.wad and delete the WiiGator002fix channel from the Wii data management channel screen.

You would have a major problem if you uninstalled the patched IOS60.
Why do you want to start from scratch?

If you've followed all the steps and everything was fine except for NeoGamma, just remove the Backup Launcher wad and install the NeoGamma wad. I don't think it would be a good idea to remove stuff.

Use imgburn - free, unbloated and will burn anything
