I don't quite know. I only use original games to back up, I've not tried downloading them. I think other people migh be able to answer this when they come into the forum. Sorry I can't help.

1.DO you have a chip or Swap Magic
2.It doesnt matter if the game is PAL or NTSC, all those mean what type of televisions the game plays on, and can be forcibly changed if you have a chip or converted using PAL_2_NTSC
3.READ THE THREAD! Why are you making a data disk for a ps2 backup? If you read the thread you would know that a data DVD will not be recognized. Use the DVD Copy option in Nero or DCD Decrypter to burn the ISO.....that info is here, 110 pages worth.

@BLINK123
You can use Nero to burn them files to a disk.
Open Nero burning rom, in a panel on the leftyou should be abke to choose type of burn, select ISO/UDF (or something like that).
Once you have done this, open the folder with all the files inand just drag and drop them into the Nero burning rom burn list
Burn at 2x and the game should work
Hope that helps.

@JOSKING
Ok,
open the folder with all the .rar files in
right click one of them and selct EXTRACT HERE
in a cople of minutes there will have been ONE .iso added to the folder
burn the ISO using Nero, DVD Decrypter, Alcohol 120% etc etc
hope that helps you out

Wow that post was the most asinine thing i have read lately. From using all caps to thinking your Dvd's are good......the fact you think your hacking your ps2 (LMFAO thats funny) or cheating the system....was there a point to that.
Rule 1
Just because you have a keyboard doesnt mean you have to type!

hey everyone, this is my first post on this forum...but i'm not exactly a "noob". i've been downloading games for pc, burning dvds, and the rest of it for a good number of years-- this is just a bit of bckgrnd about me-- not bragging at all. hell, i need help :)...
guys, recently i was looking into buying a modded ps2, so what i did was burn a couple of games myself to test on other sellers' consoles so i know its working with my own methods.
so, i rented a couple of games from blockbuster (video rental store), and just got by name, OKAMI and Medal of Honor. heres the thing...
i've tried alcohol, Nero, DVD Decrypter and other ways of burning the games-- i do so successfullly and its all good, whether i decide to make an image, or just do the "copy" function with Nero. i get a disc that spits out and says "successfully burned!". but the problem is, these discs dont work in one specific ps2 i am considering. i dont know if its just me. and yes, of course the ps2 is modded :).
i've also tried downloading games from rapidshare and bitcomet, you know, going through all the .iso stuff, and then mounting those to dvd. not working.
does ne one have any suggestions? i've checked the other posts earlier, looking for something similar. i dont really know what the problem is. can someone please help me? thanks a bunch everyone!!!!!
please dont say anything you wouldnt say to someone if they were physically in your face.

oh, some details about the specific ps2-- i think its from the UK. well, ne way, it needs an electricity converter and runs 220V. in canada, we're on 110V. but i dont think this should have any effect on the modchip. can foreign modchips play domestic games? so if this modchip is frm the UK, should it have problems with stuff i burn and make here in canada? thanks in advance :)

damn, sorry to keep this up, the double triple posting. i had an idea-- could it depend on the media i am using? maybe i'm using DVDR- when i should use dvdr+. i've read that both of these should be fine, as long as its not DVD-RW. really, i dont know what to believe.
and i dont know what i'm actually using to make these discs since these dvd discs are unlabelled and i threw out the wrapping-- about a year ago. but they burn movies totally fine. hmmm.... please help me out. this site is great.

bububau,
maybe i misunderstand your problem....
ok, heres what most people would say:
1) if you downloaded it, then its most likely in a whole lot of rar files... extract them
2) the rar's prolly extracted to give you an iso-- which is like a disc on your comp, waiting to be burned.
3) put the writable dvd into your drive, and then open up a program that burs discs. better yet, just download DVD Decrypter..
4) open DVD Decrypter--> Mode--> ISO--> Write.
thats how you would extract the download files, locate the image to be burned, then burn it. i might have misunderstoof your problem though...maybe there really is a different way if its ps1 to play on ps2. never tried it.
please dont say anything you wouldnt say to someone if they were physically in your face.

If its for playstation 1 the game might not be as big,
seen as though most ps1 games were on cd i think ( sorry if this is all wrong)
so instead of being ISO it could be in .cue .bin files.
These 2 files are associaed with cd disks,
If your using a mod chip then it wont make a difference and im pretty sure it will play.
But to be honest "bububau" we do need some more info so we can help you out.

No, your wrong, The Cd Swap Magic Disk DOES NOT work for Ps1 games. Swap magic was designed to run PS2 CD games. The only way to play a PS1 games is to either have a Mod-chip, which has a PS1 capability as not all do, a gameshark, or a Breaker pro. All of which play Ps1 backup games. Once again Swpa Magic WILL NOT boot ps1 games at all.
