Yes, all of my MAME Roms Games work on my PS2, that doesn't mean I have all the MAME Roms! I only have the one that work well or somewhat playable. And no, not all my roms are new, most of them are old but fun and playable :-) Everything from Arcade "Defender" to I don't know..lol The only rom I have that you have listed is Marvel vs Street Fighter and sometimes is crashes on me for some odd reason in MAME.

Dam! Don't know, lol.. Wait; I think you can Run PS2 PGen Emulator off the CD drive, It has a CD-ROM directory, Memory Card 1 and Memory Card 2! Anybody? Correct me if I'm wrong?
So just burn Roms on CD-R and load onto PGen when it starts.
Butttt. Running PGen of the HD.....It doesn't get any better than That! Sweet! :-)

Yes, make sure you use CD Base Swap Magic disk not DVD Base!
You get 2 disks, 1 CD and 1 DVD Swap Magic Set!

for genesis games, you use pgen. there is a folder for cd-rom, but who wants to keep swapping cd's all the time???
you can run that PGEN from the hdd, and you can store your roms on hdd also. use DMS format tool to create a partition for your genesis roms. depending on how many roms you have you can make any sized partiton. i only have 128MB partition because i have only a few games. if you have a bunch and they take up tons of space, then make up to 1024MB (or 1GB) partition. i dont know if you can go higher, but it is possible.

I don't have a hard drive, and.... you don't really need to store them on the HD. I have 500 SNES roms with the SNES Station emulator and it all fits on one cd-r. I'm gonna try to get mame and pgen soon.

has anyone been able to use that tutorial to copy the mame emulator and 1-10 roms to the HDD at all?
i can't boot backups but i do have a hard drive in my PS2.

You can also burn PGEN on DVD, it have enough capacity for all Genesis games ever released.

hi im realy knew to this whole ps2 copying and emulators and all that and i know this is probly going to end up being realy obvius but im completly clueless........ if ps2 plays cds how can it play old n64 and nes cartrages... and if it dosnt i saw something about roms but how would u convert a old game like that to a rom and also in order to play the rom would u need a mod chip and i also saw the thing about a hardrive i didnt think ps2 had hard drives and if you do need 1 do u need to take apart ur ps2 or can it plug into the usb port....... im sorry if these are realy dumb questions but i gotta learn this from somewhere

the ps2 cant play cartages it plays roms that are ethier on the hdd or cd you can get roms from the net
the ps2 doesn't have a harddrive you need to get one if you have he old ps2 you get a harddrive and put it in the expansion slot and you need a network adapter to put in as well and you need hdadvance it is software that boots the hdd

romero: my point was to get people to see the beauty of having the HDD attached. any sized drive (4+GB) would be more than enough for you to run roms from hdd. i just dont like the idea of having to swap in a cd just to get ready to swap in 2 more cds with some kinda info, to finally swap in my roms cd. it may not take that many but if you decide that you want to do something else, you have to go thru the swapping process again. i'd rather get the hdd, and put my roms there, and not have to worry about swapping anything. pretty longwinded waste of space just to say... "hard drive rox!!!"

yes it does. But what emus run roms off the hdd and how would i go about installin it??? gotta fill me in on this one. And i think if usbextreme is 100% compatible with all games, then my slim ps2+hdd combo would kik so much a$$ cuz there wouldnt be a need for any type of mods or time consuming tricky methods to play backups cuz i could just backup the games to my hdd.

use the dms format tool to create the partitions. and you will have to find your own way to load roms to the hdd. i used launchelf's file browser to copyNpaste from my usb to the hdd.

I my self use DMS Dump Tool after I use DMS Format Tool to install in zip or raw files from CD or DVD. PGen and Info-NES Emulas.. work great. Although I don't have Info-NES on my HD couse I didn't want it, "Didn't like those any NES game"! Info-GB I haven't tried.
I use MC Exploit via FTP at 25mb a second :-) LaunchElf is to DOSy for me!

no,it wasnt all that great. actually i have only played a few roms, but i got bored with them before finishing any nes games. either that or the games i played kept crashing on me and i just quit being bothered with it. i havent played any nes roms or gb roms in months.

hello guys ! i have a question about emulators and roms.
i have some emulators and some roms, but what i do?
i got mame plus emulator and i got the roms , but i dont know what i need to do to play? i know i need the WinZIP , i got it, can somebody tell the steps to tranfer , convert , to play the games , all my roms are whit the icon zip.
anoher question ,to play in the ps2 what i need to do?

First you'll need to find a MAME emulator for PS2. I can't look one up for you atm, so I suggest you try google. Find the emulator and get back to us.

Does anyone know the exact difference between the PSP and Ps2 cpus. Reason for asking is that weve been waiting for a Gameboy Advance Emulator for PS2, which supposely is still in the work, yet there is a gameboy advance emulator already on the PSP. Something doesnt seem right about that.
