Troten: i dont have swap magic. so it's 100times more convenient for me to use the HDD. i have 200GB, i can spare about 1GB for emulators and such. i dont feel like spending 30-40 dollars on more stuff that i dont really need. a question about swap magic, do i need a slide card to go with it? if that's the case then i dont want that either. i dont want to dismantle, or mutilate my ps2 jsut to do stuff that can already be done from the hdd.

digitalg: i had stopped reading the threads for a while, and when i did read, no one asked questions that i had the answers to. no one helped me either. i asked questions and even started brand new threads only to find that i was the only one talking in the thread. i was just asking because you said you have a short method. i was wondering what it was. maybe to compare notes or something. but i personally wont trouble you because i can do what i need to do and dont have to worry about it anymore. but there are some who could benefit from your info. that's kind of the point of having the forums. so.... do what you will.

Ok... I understand why you would want to put them on your hd if you didn't have swap magic or modchip or something of that sorts... It makes sense that you don't wanna change your ps2 ne... About the slide card... you don't have to have a slide card if you have a fliptop... but I assume you wouldn't want one of them cus it involves taking your old ps2 top off and replacing it...

digitalg: I'm sorry about no one helping you... I can't exactly do ne thing about it but... I try to help everyone... I've been using this site for about a year now... but I only can get online every so often... thats when I try to post and help others... cus I have found help on here...
I understand not wanting to help if no one helped you... but if you would... please share your method... it could be of use to some... and maybe encourage others to help as you did... even when they weren't helped...

My bootup is now Dev2 so I just hold L1 and Elf Launcher is the first thing that loads. And it loads off the HDD. Then i select what I want to run from there. No more exploiting for me :-) Also... Fastest way to trasfer ROMs... FTP for me, I send at 150-200kb/s and since ROM's are such small files, it isn't a big deal. USB is faster speed wise, just not easier to me. FTP is a lazy way.

honestly, i think it's a matter of spending extra money that might not be necessary. like i said, if i can do it all from one spot without a modchip or a fliptop, then my universe is good. the only problem is that emulation sucks right now. very limited systems emulated, and poor performance on some emulation. like infoNES-hd. i like it because i can run everything from hdd. but i have to turn the sound off to keep the game running well, or keep it from freezing. that makes me sad. i dont want it to crash just by playing normally. i think infoGB-hd works without tooo many problems. just a few problem roms though.

digitalg: You seem to be quite childish person, have you ever thinked that maybe people haven't answered your questions simply because they haven't known answers for them. I know that trying to solve things without getting help might be very frustrating sometimes, but taking revenge for that by not giving information for someone else - and even saying it out loud - is not right way to act, especially because probably people won't be leaving you without help at purpose. These forums aren't made for trading knowledge, they exist for spreading it along with questions and answers, and if you don't have better things to do than come here and write some stupid "I won't tell"-messages you can just go and kiss goat's ass.

Hey, I have just recently found out about emulators on my PS2. I am very interested on playing SNES games on it.

But, I have many questions.

First of all, how hard is it to get the emulator and roms on to the PS2? Do I need to do anything special, IE use that tray thing, or do I have to mod my system?

Next, do the games save onto my HDD? Or do I have to put in the CD everytime I want to play?

Where do the games save? On to the memory card, or the HDD?

How good is the SNES emulator? Do a majority of the games work?

Thanks.

If you want to run emulator from CD/DVD you must also have some way to the the disc boot. It's possible to install emulator itself into memory card or HD, but SNES Station is able to load roms only from disc so it might be better to burn emulator on the same disc with roms.

Memiory card.

It depends, most I've tried have worked quite well, they usually have a little slowdowns but they won't really affect to gameplay too much. Some games have more problems or won't boot at all but there's not so much such cases.

Alright, thanks.

But the only way I can do this is if I do the disc boot thing?

You said that I put the stuff on the disc; Is there a way to put them on the disc, then download them to the HDD?

1. Yes, you need to have a Boot CD to Swap for the SNES Station Emulator CD.
2. HHD Cannot read SMC,SFC,SRM files. (As of Yet!)
3. But you can find SwapMagic/Action Replay for Free on the Net just as you can a Fully Patched HDLoader! :-)

Best of Luck! :-)

On the other hand PGen Emulator (A Sega Genesis Emulator for the PS2)! You can load the emulator from the MC (Memory Card) and have the files of the roms (Games) on your MC or HD! But this one is a little more complicated than the SNES Station! But not that much!
Cheers!

Thanks a ton.

I have a couple more questions. What do you mean by swap CD? And also, I need an Action Replay, but what is it for, and how do I get it for free?

And, how do I put files on my memory card?

Thanks.

Okay, I am new and have been sifting thru messages, but haven't really found out what I needed to know (or at least I don't think I have).

I have used emmulators in the past and seen tonight on my friends dreamcast that he could play old nes games. I would like to be able to play old nes and snes games on my PS2. I have a newer slim PS2 and do not have a Mod chip or whatever installed on it. I was wanting to know if there is a way of putting emmulators and roms on my PS2, without having to mess with my PS2's insides. I guess I want to know if there is just an easy way to put emmulators and roms on on a CDR or DVD-R and just play them from there. Im not smart about this stuff and am looking for the easiest way possible to do this. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

(Sorry if this has been posted before, I couldnt find anythig)

This emulator seems to be at so early stage that people simply doesn't know much about it and there's just very few pieces of information considering the whole project, so it's not wonder that people can't really tell anything about it.

If you don't find some information by yourself, isn't it possible that no-one else have found it either? That's much more probably reason for not getting any answers than that people would not help you just because they are so evil.

What I mean is that you have to have either a Flip Top/Swap Magic CD/DVD oor I am currently running CogSwap Loader (Same as Swap Magic just looks different) program from my Memory Card!

For this It's a little complicated and I'm perty sure their are Threads on how to make Memory Card Exploits everywhere. It's been like 3 years that I haven't read the rules of AfterDawn and now I decided and have time to help others in AfterDawn so I don't know If I can post some links from other websites or something to show what I'm talking about! But these should start you off.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289

It's really not that difficult! Let me know If you need any help!
