Burna...Hello and thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am a newb to this whole exploit thing so I need help and you are the man. I have a way to connect to my ps2 from my pc using the go-net ethernet adapter. I dont know if any cheapo ppl have thought about this but its $10 at toys r us and you can connect to a pc. So what I am asking from you is...with this connection and something like naplink or whatever you may recommend...can I load swapmagic or anything else onto the mem card that will allow me to play backups without doing the swapping? Thanks!

Well the problem with putting Swap Magic on the memcard is the TOC(Table of Contents,or size). You can actually put a Swap Magic elf file on the memcard the only problem is the booting sequence of a backup. If you wanted to boot a backup you would have to do a swap to increase your TOC(size)to boot a game. You can use the cogswaploader and do a TOC refresh with a original game to play your backups.Like I mentioned though another swap has to be implemented to boot a PS2 backup. At the moment you can only do a TOC refresh the size of a single layer game, but in the future maybe they will release something that will support a dual layer refresh. To understand Single and Dual Layer a single layer is in the range of 4.7Gig or lower, and dual layer will go over this limit so anything above 4.7Gig is dual layer.

it could be your sles ID most of the time you need to have an underscore instead of a hyphen. if you're gonna use winhiip to install it, you need to make the image bootable by ps2. i think you need cdvdgen or something to create a bootable ps2 image of wht you just did. honestly i'm not sure what else you might need because i used the codebreaker and USB method. i assume the same method is possible with AR, but i dont have that so i can't say.

i'm sorry, that screen shot doesnt do me any good. i never did the cd rom method. i used cheat device + USB. showing me this brings up a question about how and where the irx files are stored. is everything supposed to be inside the playstation executable files?

to uninstall the exploit??? hmmm.... i think the easy way is to just delete the system configuration file from the MC. you can do that from the ps2 browser.
the reason they prob'ly told you to use the underscore is because that's what usually works. i have that for all 3 of my trigger cd's and they all work. you may want to put more than one trigger cd info into making the titledb file.

The irx files should be inside the FILES dir. At least thats where I remember them on the cd. I will have to look again.
And shouldn't the sles code be
SLES_014.20
instead of
SLES-01420
I would think the . would be more important than the _

Is there a guide anywhere for the SM3.6 exploit? I have to play with my laser 10-15 times before I can get it to read the SM3.6. I would love anyone that could tell me how to save my SM3.6 to a memory card or HD so I don't have to f with my laser everytime I want to play a game.
PLEASE
Thank you

Just use CogSwap on your MC to load games. I haven't seen a way to get Swap Magic on your MC.

Is Cog Swap only for CD based games?
I swear when I bought SM3.6 on the slide case it said "now can be loaded from memory card" or something like that. I also heard HDLoader doesn't work for all games.
Are there any other loading programs from memory that will load all games(DVD based) as good as SM3.6?
I'm basically looking for another way to play backup games(either from HD or +-R discs) without forcing my PS2 to read the SM3.6 everytime.(without getting out the soldering gun) My PS2 has a hell of a time reading that SM(DVD)disc.

Cogswap will load CD and DVD games. There is an extra swap step involved. You need a high TOC orignial pressed PS2 game (I use GTA). When the CD is on the screen, you eject and insert the orignal ps2 dvd game. Then once you see the dvd, hit x and it will say use cogswap.

My swap discs are giving me issues too. I swear, my PS2 has a mind of it's own (and it does not like me). I have been using CogSwap off the MC and it seems like games load faster than with SM discs (when they actually work). I have a feeling my laser is dying (have already had it replaced by Sony twice) and I really dont want to send it back to them again. If anyone knows of a way to get SM on the MC I would also like to know.

L-Burna etc., i've installed the MC exploit no problem (using ARMAX with cdloader.elf and swap trick). I used Keyloader as the BOOT.ELF file and when i but in my ps1 game, a black screen appears - no sign of life from keyloader. I have a PAL v.10 ps2 (non-slimline), could this be the problem?,
What can i do to solve the problem? - thanks for any advice you can throw at me

Finally got the MC exploit to boot with my ps1 game - excellent!
I realised that i must have been doing something wrong along the way, so i got this fantastic package to do practically all the work for me:
http://www.console.iscentral.net/download.php?view.183
It's the Independence Compiler program (version 4.0)... you can't go wrong with it - it compiles your bin/cue file for you and all you have to do is select which options suit your system (makes the title.db etc.) You can import your elf files to it (downloadable from http://www.console.iscentral.net/download.php?list.12)
With generated bin/cue files, i just burned with Nero.
After loading the cd (with cdloader through AR MAX media player), it had a few false starts saying it couldn't install certain files on the disc (think i burnt the disc at too high a speed) - after 3rd try though (with the same disc), all the files were on the memory card... and it loaded when i put in my ps1 game. I used PS2 Menu as the boot elf and everything loads swell!
I guarantee this easy option is practically error-proof.

Excellent man, your on the right track. The installer done the same thing for me at first (i burnt it at too high a speed). Dont worry though, just delete the "System Configuration" file on your MC and load your exploit disc again (the same one)... it loaded on 3rd attempt for me!...
Just keep trying the same disc, it will work if you've got the installer to load.
